Method of manufacturing a component of a rotary machine and component manufactured using said method
A method of manufacturing a component of a rotary machine, the component has at least one inner passage that extends from a center up to a boundary surface of the component and is at least partly closed, and a blank is provided that includes the boundary surface and a top surface. The Method includes a first subtractive machining step that is carried out in which a part of the passage that at least includes an opening of the passage into the boundary surface as well as a cut-out in the top surface are manufactured by machining production, and subsequently the passage is completed by build-up production on the blank.
IMPELLER AND CENTRIFUGAL PUMP
Provided are an impeller and a centrifugal pump that can be simplified in structure and reduced in weight and cost, and that can be integrally molded by a mold or the like. In a centrifugal pump including a housing having an inlet, an outlet and an impeller chamber, an impeller is disposed in the impeller chamber and is rotationally driven by a driving shaft. The impeller includes: a shaft part connected to the driving shaft to rotate about an axis line extending toward the inlet; blades protruding radially outward from an outer periphery of the shaft part; and an annular shroud plate continuous with the blades so as to cover a tip side area of the blades in order to be disposed adjacent to an inner wall of the housing on the inlet side.
Method of making a centrifugal pump impeller
A method for producing a centrifugal pump impeller having a base plate, which is a single piece with pump blades and a cover plate, which consists of a thermoplastic material, wherein contact areas are available, which are heated and melted by means of ultrasonic excitation and form a close bonded connection after cool-down. The objective of the invention is to ensure inherent stability with the individual parts and a simple and reliable pre-assembly as well as a fixed mechanical connection, wherein only a small amount of excitation energy is required, with a centrifugal pump impeller comprising a base plate and cover plate.
Composite Metal Component And Method Of Producing Same
A method of producing a composite metal article and/or a composite metal wear component. The method including the following steps: casting a component composed of a host metal composition wherein one or more cavities are formed in the component during casting; inserting a wear resistant composition in solid form into the one or more cavities formed in the component composed of the host metal composition; and, bonding the wear resistant composition into the one or more cavities of the component composed of the host metal composition to form the composite metal article.
ROTORS FOR USE IN CAUSTIC ENVIRONMENTS
There is provided a rotatable impeller assembly for pumping caustic fluid byproducts in a medical device. The assembly comprises a rotor having a rotor cup, and an impeller having a rotor contacting surface and impeller blades. The assembly further comprises a magnetic ring seated within the cup. The magnetic ring comprises a first contact surface that is configured to mate with an inner surface of the cup, and a second contact surface that is configured to mate with the rotor contacting surface of the impeller. In such an arrangement, the magnetic ring is locked in position by the rotor cup and the impeller, thereby preventing any independent rotation of the magnetic ring relative to the rotor and the impeller while automatically balancing the rotor. Further, the rotor contacting surface of the impeller is attached to the cup to hermetically seal the magnetic ring within the impeller assembly.
MOLTEN METAL ROTOR WITH HARDENED TOP
Embodiments of the invention are directed to a rotor for a molten metal pump and a molten metal pump including the rotor. The rotor has a main body and a top comprised of a material that is at least twice as hard as the main body. The top, among other things, may form a first portion of each rotor blade wherein the first portion directs molten metal into a pump chamber or other structure in which the rotor is mounted.

An object of the invention is to provide an alloy article that exhibits even better mechanical properties than conventional high entropy alloy articles without sacrificing high corrosion resistance thereof. An alloy article according to the invention comprises matrix phase crystal grains being equiaxed crystals with an average crystal grain size of 150 m or less, the alloy article having a metallic composition including: Co, Cr, Fe, Ni and Ti, each within a range of 5 atomic % or more and 35 atomic % or less; Mo within a range of more than 0 atomic % and less than 8 atomic %; and a balance comprising inevitable impurities, wherein in the matrix phase crystal grains, ultrafine particles with an average particle size of 100 nm or less and oxide particles with an average particle size of 100 nm or less are dispersedly precipitated.

Impeller
An impeller in which blades and a shroud are bonded in a stable manner. The impeller is provided with a plurality of blades disposed on a base, and a shroud disposed facing the base across the blades. The shroud has a curved shape, wherein the shroud has a flat part in the outer periphery, protuberances are provided to flat surfaces of the blades, through-holes are provided to the flat part of the shroud, and, after the protuberances are inserted through the through-holes, the flat surfaces of the blades and the flat part of the shroud are bonded together by deforming the tips of the protuberances into thermally caulked parts larger in diameter than the opening diameters of the through-holes.

The present disclosure provides an oil pump including a housing in which a space is formed, a rotor installed to be rotatable in an eccentric position in the housing and having vanes mounted along a circumference direction to be protruded and retracted in a radial direction of the housing, and an inner ring fitted to an inner surface of the housing and rotated along with the rotor when the rotor rotates. The housing is formed of a material harder than the material of the inner ring, and oil for lubrication is provided between the housing and the inner ring.
