Variable geometry shrouded compressor/blower rotor design
A shrouded impeller includes an impeller having a plurality of blades and configured to rotate about an axis, and a shroud disposed adjacent to the impeller and configured to corotate about the axis with the impeller and translate axially relative to the impeller. A method of varying a geometry of a flow area of the shrouded impeller includes rotating the shroud and the impeller about the axis and axially translating the shroud relative to the impeller to increase or decrease a rate of flow between the shroud and the impeller.
Centrifugal fan
Disclosed herein are a centrifugal fan and a refrigerator. The centrifugal fan according to an aspect of the present disclosure has a structure in which a plurality of blades disposed along a circumferential direction are disposed in two lines in a radial direction of a hub, such that the noise of the fan is reduced and the flow rate of air is increased, and the efficiency of the fan is improved, and the centrifugal fan includes a middle guide member inducing an inflow in the center of the fan, such that the inflow to the fan is prevented from being concentrated in a lower part of the fan, and a total height of a discharge port is efficiently used. Therefore, the uniformity of a component of a discharging flow at the discharge port is improved and thus the noise of the fan is reduced.
Centrifugal compressor
A centrifugal compressor includes: a rotational shaft; a main casing surrounding at least a part of the rotational shaft, the main casing having an inlet and an outlet separated from each other in an axial direction of the rotational shaft and an annular space surrounding a section of the rotational shaft at a side of the inlet and communicating with the inlet; at least one impeller disposed in a fixed state to the rotational shaft inside the main casing; a flow guide member disposed inside the annular space and extending along the axial direction of the rotational shaft; a plurality of injection holes disposed along the flow guide member and separated from one another along the axial direction of the rotational shaft; and a flow path which extends inside the annular space and through which a cleaning fluid to be supplied to the plurality of injection holes is capable of flowing.
Counter-rotating compressor
A compressor is described which includes a non-axial first rotor, and a second rotor disposed immediately downstream from the first rotor and being co-axial therewith about a longitudinal axis of rotation. The second rotor rotates in a direction opposite the non-axial first rotor to discharge fluid flow into an uninterrupted passage between an outlet of the second rotor and one of a downstream combustor or a further compression stage. The uninterrupted passage is free of a diffusing passage. A gas turbine engine including such a compressor and a method of compressing fluid flow is also described.
Inlet guide vane mechanism
An inlet guide vane assembly (60) is provided including a plurality of vane subassemblies (62) configured to rotate relative to a blade ring housing (64) to control a volume of air flowing there through. The inlet guide vane assembly (60) also includes a plurality of drive mechanisms (80). Each drive mechanism (80) is operably coupled to one of the plurality of vane subassemblies (62). The vane subassemblies (62) may be rotated independently.
GAS TURBINE ENGINES AND COMPRESSION SYSTEMS THEREFOR
A gas turbine engine, with a conical screw integrated compression system, that utilizes at least one conical screw as an intermediary fluid transport device to facilitate the multi-staging of non-axial compressors, such as centrifugal and diagonal compressors, as well as or alternatively to combine non-axial compressors to axial compressors and to the fan. The conical screw in the compression system applies axial flow translation and funnels, as necessary, the exit flow of the impeller, fan or compressor into the next impeller or compressor.
CENTRIFUGAL COMPRESSOR WITH RECIRCULATION STRUCTURE
A centrifugal compressor for a chiller system includes a casing having an inlet portion and an outlet portion, a recirculation structure including a recirculation path and a recirculation discharge cavity, an impeller disposed downstream of the recirculation discharge cavity, the impeller being attached to a shaft rotatable about a shaft rotation axis, a motor arranged to rotate the shaft in order to rotate the impeller, and a diffuser disposed in the outlet portion downstream of the impeller. The recirculation structure is configured and arranged to impart a swirl to a flow of refrigerant into the inlet portion, with a velocity of a recirculation flow caused by the swirl being higher than a velocity of the flow of the refrigerant in the inlet portion.
APPARATUS FOR TRANSFERRING ENERGY BETWEEN A ROTATING ELEMENT AND FLUID
In some embodiments, a plenum of an apparatus for transferring energy between a rotating element and a fluid may include a through hole disposed through the plenum; a plurality of inlet guide vanes disposed proximate a peripheral edge of the through hole, the plurality of inlet guide vanes comprising a first group of inlet guide vanes having a symmetrical profile, a second group of inlet guide vanes, and a third group of inlet guide vanes, wherein each inlet guide vane of the second group and third group have a cambered profile, wherein each inlet guide vane of the second group has same cambered profile, and further wherein each inlet guide vane of the third group has a different cambered profile from each other inlet guide vane of the third group.
SCROLL CASING AND CENTRIFUGAL COMPRESSOR
A scroll casing forms a scroll flow passage of a centrifugal compressor, and, provided that, in a cross section of the scroll flow passage, Eo is an outer end of the scroll flow passage in a radial direction of the centrifugal compressor, Ef is a front end of the scroll flow passage in an axial direction of the centrifugal compressor, and Mw is a middle point of a maximum flow-passage width Wmax of the scroll flow passage in the radial direction, a flow passage height H of the scroll flow passage in the axial direction gradually increases from a position of the outer end Eo to a position of the front end Ef with respect to the radial direction, and the scroll flow passage has a recirculation flow suppressing cross section in which the front end Ef is disposed on an inner side, in the radial direction, of the middle point Mw, in a section disposed at least partially in a region closer to a scroll start than a connection position of the scroll start and a scroll end.
