The inventive technology, in particular embodiments thereof, may be described as an apparatus (e.g., a pump) that imparts work to and redirects a fluid, and that features an impeller configured to contact and redirect an impeller inflow along a toroidal flowpath to generate an impeller discharge that has both axial and tangential velocity components, where the axial velocity component is substantially 180 degrees relative to a direction of an impeller inflow, in a meridional plane, the apparatus also featuring a diffuser having a diffuser axis that is aligned with an impeller axis of rotation, the diffuser featuring a diffuser outlet annular radial size that is greater than a diffuser inlet annular radial size; and/or curved diffuser vanes established as part of the diffuser, that redirect the impeller discharge so as to reduce the tangential velocity components.

HEAT COLLECTING PUMP AND WASHING APPLIANCE

Provided are a heat collecting pump and a washing appliance. The heat collecting pump includes: a housing defining an accommodation cavity and having a fluid inlet, a fluid outlet, and a mounting opening; a heating device and a flow guiding element that are disposed in the accommodation cavity; a drive device connected to the housing and configured to drive a fluid to flow from the fluid inlet to the fluid outlet. The flow guiding element has an inner wall defining a fluid inlet channel in communication with the fluid inlet. A fluid discharge channel is defined between an outer wall of the flow guiding element and an inner wall of the accommodation cavity, and is in communication with the fluid inlet channel and the fluid outlet, respectively. The flow guiding element has a flow guiding portion configured to guide a fluid in the fluid discharge channel towards the fluid outlet.

Thrust handling for electric submersible pumps

An electric submersible pump includes a plurality of centrifugal pump stages, each stage including a rotating impeller and a stationary diffuser mounted on a shaft coupled to a motor. An upthrust washer can be disposed axially between an impeller and its associated diffuser at or near a tip of the impeller, and the gap between the impeller tip and diffuser can define the end play or axial clearance for the pump. If the upthrust washer wears away, upthrust rubbing occurs at the impeller tip instead of proximate the pump shaft to advantageously help protect the shaft from damage or failure related to heat. In some ESPs, an upthrust bearing assembly can be located at the pump head. A downthrust washer can be disposed in an upstream facing groove of the impeller. The downthrust washer can have a thickness greater than 0.10 in.

Impeller wake vortex dissipation device under stall condition of mixed flow pump

An impeller wake vortex dissipation device under stall condition of a mixed flow pump includes a guide vane and a wake vortex dissipation device. The pump is evenly divided into n guide vane channels by N evenly distributed guide vanes. A wake vortex dissipation device is set in each guide vane channel, and one end of the wake vortex dissipation device is fixedly connected to the inner wall of the pump body. Therefore, each wake vortex dissipation device is located in the middle and upper part of the guide vane channel and does not occupy the lower guide vane channel; the wake vortex dissipation device is provided with a dissipative hole pair, which are used to dissipate the energy of the wake vortex of the impeller.

A fluid pump assembly is provided. The pump has a pair of units magnetically coupled to each other. The first unit contains a drive motor and a magnetic assembly. The second unit contains a magnetic assembly and a blade of a propeller/impeller for imparting movement to a fluid. As the first unit is activated by the drive motor, a magnetic flux is created which in turn rotates the magnetic assembly in the second unit, driving the blade.
