GAS TURBINE ENGINE TRANSITION DUCT AND TURBINE CENTER FRAME
A transition duct includes fairings with transition duct flow passage and hollow fairing airfoils extending between outer and inner walls of fairings and means for smoothing pressure gradients along inner wall. One means is a contracting duct flow area of flow passage from leading edge of fairing airfoil to about 50% of fairing chord. Leading edges of fairing airfoil intersect outer walls aft of regions of high curvature of outer walls. Leading edges may curve axially aftwardly and radially into fairing airfoils and transition duct flow passage between radially outer and inner walls from radially outer and inner intersection points. Transition duct downstream second area/upstream first area may be greater than about 1.35. Turbine center frame may include outer ring coupled to central hub with struts extending through hollow airfoils.

Disclosed embodiments further include ceiling tiles with a built-in fan and/or LED lighting. The disclosed systems may include a housing container and an axial fan. The fan has a fan cavity including air diversion mechanism to direct air from the fan cavity toward the lighting and fan components. The inventions include an airflow surface to direct air existing the fan cavity along an LED light fixture. Moreover, disclosed embodiments include one or more UV light sources which irradiate contaminants as air flows through the ceiling tile.
Integrated fan drive system for air-cooled heat exchangers (ACHE)
An air-cooled heat exchanger (ACHE) for cooling process fluids used in an industrial process. In one embodiment, the ACHE is configured as a forced-draft ACHE. A support structure supports the forced draft ACHE above grade. A tube bundle is supported by the structure and is configured to receive process fluids used in an industrial process. A plenum is connected to the support structure, positioned beneath the tube bundle and configured to direct air-flow through the tube bundle. A fan is supported by the support structure and positioned beneath the plenum. Rotation of the fan produces an air-flow that is directed through the tube bundle by the plenum. A fan drive system is supported by the support structure, positioned beneath the fan and comprises a permanent magnet motor comprising a motor casing, a stator and a rotatable shaft, the rotatable shaft being connected to the fan.
Fan casing for a gas turbine engine
The present invention relates to a fire resistant fan casing for a gas turbine engine. The casing has a projection such as a reinforcing rib or a mounting pad. The projection comprises at least one shell portion formed of a fiber/plastic composite material encasing a core of fire resistant material such as a metallic material or a ceramic matrix composite material.
Noise reduction device for outlet side of fan and heat exchange system including the same
The utility model relates to a noise reduction device for an outlet side of a fan, and a heat exchange system including the noise reduction device. The noise reduction device includes: a connecting portion configured to be connected with at least a part of the air duct cover, and form an accommodation space communicating with an airflow on the outlet side via at least one of the through holes; and at least one first chamber and/or at least one second chamber, the first chamber being located in the accommodation space and filled with a sound-absorbing material, and the second chamber being located in the accommodation space and configured as a resonant noise-reduction cavity. The utility model is easy to manufacture, install and maintain, the noise reduction effect is obvious, and therefore the utility model has significant practicability.
ROTOR FOR AN EXHAUST-FAN ASSEMBLY OF AN AGRICULTURAL MACHINE
One describes a rotor (1) for an exhaust-fan assembly (4) of an 5 agricultural machine, the rotor (1) comprising a central shaft (7), a first portion (31) provided with an inlet deflector (15) having a substantially elliptical profile, defining a tapered inlet end (26). The rotor, which is also provided with a set of blades (13), further comprises a second portion (29) provided with an outlet deflector (22) having a substantially elliptical profile, so that the 10 first and the second portions (31, 29) are associated to the central shaft (7). According to the invention, one provides a rotor that promotes efficient cleaning of harvested cane.
DIAGONAL FAN HAVING AN OPTIMIZED HOUSING
A diagonal fan having an electric motor, a housing and a diagonal impeller generating a diagonal flow which is deflected into an axial flow direction. The diagonal impeller has impeller blades, an air inlet and an air outlet, wherein the housing forms a flow channel for an airflow generated by the diagonal impeller, which has a non-rotationally symmetric axial section and a cylindrical axial section axially directly adjacent, as seen in the flow direction, wherein an air outlet-side radial outer end of the diagonal impeller is arranged in the cylindrical axial section of the flow channel of the housing and an air gap is provided between the radial outer end and the housing, and wherein the non-rotationally symmetric axial section of the flow channel is arranged in a region of the flow channel which is adjacent to the air-inlet side of the air gap in an axial plane with the diagonal impeller.
CEILING FAN
A ceiling fan or ceiling fan includes a body defining an interior passage having an inlet and an outlet provided on the body. The inlet, outlet, and interior passage can be annular. An impeller is mounted within the interior passage and driven by a motor mounted within the body to draw a volume of air through the interior passage from the inlet to the outlet. A deflector is provided within the body and extending through the outlet including an upper angled surface and a lower angled surface to direct the air in a generally upward or generally downward direction, respectively.
