Mounting system for convertible ducted fan engine
A convertible ducted fan engine and mounting system. The convertible ducted fan engine has a shroud encircling a mechanical fan. The convertible ducted fan engine includes a fluid-propulsion configuration in which the mechanical fan rotates freely with respect to the shroud to produce thrust through fluid flow, and a drive-wheel configuration in which the shroud rotates about the rotational axis. The mounting system includes at least one gimbal ring and may include a circular track system thereby enabling the convertible engine to be oriented in any direction.
COMPRESSOR MODULE FOR TURBOMACHINE
A turbomachine compressor module comprising an annular array of struts provided with pivotable flaps. The struts can define inter-strut spaces between two circumferentially adjacent struts, and variably oriented stator vanes are disposed at least partially in the inter-strut spaces. Also, a turbomachine having such a module and a row of rotor blades directly downstream of the module.
Inner shroud and orientable vane of an axial turbomachine compressor
An assembly for the compressor stator of a turbomachine. The assembly comprises: a shroud, in various instances an inner shroud, that is axially divided into two parts; a pocket formed in the shroud; a bearing located in the pocket; and an orientable vane pivotably mounted in the bearing about a pivot axis. The shroud comprises an axial interface separating the parts that is axially offset from the pivot axis of the orientable vane. The invention also provides a process for assembling the assembly.
ACTUATION SYSTEM WITH SPHERICAL PLAIN BEARING
In the compressor of a gas turbine engine, variable guide vanes are adjusted by virtue of connections to an actuation ring that can be rotated within a fixed range of degrees. The connections between the guide vanes and the actuation ring can undergo significant torsional stress. Accordingly, an actuation system is disclosed for reducing the torsional stress experienced by the actuation connections.
Engine having variable pitch outlet guide vanes
An un-ducted turbofan engine defining a radial direction and an axial direction that includes a core engine, a fan, a plurality of variable outlet guide vanes, and a pitch change mechanism. Each of the plurality of variable outlet guide vanes are attached in a rotatable manner to the core engine of the un-ducted turbofan engine. The pitch change mechanism is positioned radially between the engine air flowpath and the plurality of variable outlet guide vanes and coupled to at least one variable outlet guide vane of the plurality of variable outlet guide vanes for changing a pitch of the at least one variable outlet guide vane.
TURBINE ENGINE COMPRESSOR VARIABLE GEOMETRY SYSTEM WITH SPLIT ACTUATION
Example variable geometry systems with split actuation are disclosed herein. In one example, a compressor is provided that includes a compressor stage and an actuation system. The compressor stage includes a plurality of variable stator vanes arranged along a circumference of the compressor stage. The actuation system is to actuate a first variable stator vane of the compressor stage according to a first schedule and to actuate a second variable stator vane of the compressor stage according to a second schedule.
BLOWER
A blower is disclosed. The blower of the present disclosure comprises: a fan generating flow of air; a lower body providing an internal space in which the fan is installed, and having a suction hole through which air passes; an upper body being an upper body, which is installed over the lower body and forms a channel that communicates with the internal space of the lower body, and having a space formed through the upper body in a front-rear direction; a slit formed to pass through the upper body and discharging air flowing through the channel of the upper body to an outside of the upper body; and a vane or a door movably installed inside the upper body, and adjusting a flow direction of the air passing through the slit.
Variable guide vane for gas turbine engine
A variable guide vane (VGV) described herein includes an airfoil for interacting with a fluid inside a gas path of a gas turbine engine. The airfoil is mounted to a button and rotatable with the button about an axis. The button includes a platform surface defining part of the gas path adjacent the airfoil during use. The platform surface of the button includes a depression for receiving therein part of an adjacent VGV and providing clearance between adjacent VGVs at aggressive vane angles.
Compressor with casing treatment
A casing treatment for a compressor includes one or more cavities in a casing disposed radially outwardly of tips of the compressor rotor blades. A liner is moveable relative to the casing between a first position and a second position. The liner is shaped to add a volume to the tip clearance gap when moving from the second position toward the first position. The liner is displaceable between the first and second positions in coordination with at least the rotation of inlet guide vanes (IGVs) between IGV positions.
MODULE FOR TURBOMACHINE
A turbomachine compressor module, comprising an annular array of structural arms defining inter-arm spaces between two circumferentially adjacent arms; and an annular array of stator vanes with variable orientation about a respective axis (A) and disposed at least partially within the inter-arm spaces. The arms are provided with flaps pivotable about a respective axis (B). Also, a turbomachine provided with such a module and a row of rotor blades directly downstream of the module.
