The rotary air seal may transition from a sealed state that forms a seal between the spindle and the hub to support air flow between the channel formed in the spindle and the channel formed in hub and reside in an unsealed state to negate the seal between the spindle and the hub.

The covering member is fixed to rotate integrally with the hub ring and the inner ring, and covers an end on the vehicle inner side of the bearing section. A part of the covering member opposing to an end surface on the vehicle inner side of the outer ring is not parallel to the end surface.

Thereby, an abnormality diagnosing apparatus for a rolling bearing is provided, by which a highly accurate abnoiiiiality diagnosis can be implemented even if installation states of a displacement sensor and an object to be measured are changed due to maintenance or repair.

The odd, non-singular number of high-points is the same as the odd, non-singular number of low-points, and each low-point is positioned as near to evenly as possible between two adjacent high-points.
