The guiding device (1) comprises an inner cylindrical portion (10) and an outer cylindrical portion (11) that are coaxial with each other. The inner cylindrical portion (10) has a plurality of radial holes (12) having first ends (13) communicating with a first gap (15) provided between the inner cylindrical portion (10) and the member (2) to be guided. The outer cylindrical portion (11) has at least one radial opening (17) arranged to allow introducing from the outside a pressurised fluid which, by reaching the first gap (15) through the holes (12), is suitable to create a fluidic gap between the inner cylindrical portion (10) and the member (2) to be guided.
AN APPARATUS FOR STORING CABLE
The invention relates to an apparatus for storing cable, comprising a cable carousel (1) rotatable about a vertical axis (2), and rotating means (30) for rotating (4) the carousel (1) about the vertical axis (2), for allowing winding cable (5) on the carousel (1) and unwinding cable (5) from the carousel (1). The carousel (1) is received in a pool (7), a seal (10) is arranged between an outer side (12) of the carousel (1) and a pool outer wall (9). A closed chamber (13) is defined in the pool (7) below the carousel (1), and pressurised liquid in the closed chamber (13) provides a positive pressure for supporting the carousel (1) and allowing rotation (4) of the carousel (1).
LUBRICANT SUPPORTED ELECTRIC MOTOR WITH CONTROLLED AND BALANCED LUBRICANT FLOW
A lubricant supported electric motor includes a stator presenting an stator raceway, and a rotor movable relative to the stator and presenting a rotor raceway disposed in spaced relationship with the stator raceway to define a gap therebetween. A lubricant is disposed in the gap for supporting the rotor relative to the stator. The stator defines at least one hydrostatic support chamber disposed in radially recessed relationship relative to the stator raceway and in fluid communication with the gap. The stator also defines a passageway disposed in fluid communication with the at least one hydrostatic support chamber for providing lubricant to the at least one hydrostatic support chamber and the gap. A flow restriction mechanism is disposed in fluid communication with the passageway for controlling and balancing a supply and pressure of the lubricant in the hydrostatic support chamber.
Axial load management system
An axial load management system for a turbomachine including a rotating drivetrain, a thrust bearing assembly, a sensor, and a valve supply line. The rotating drivetrain includes a compressor section and an expander section fluidly coupled together by a closed flowpath. The thrust bearing assembly includes a thrust runner, a thrust bearing housing, and a gas thrust bearing extending between the thrust runner and the thrust bearing housing. Further, the gas thrust bearing supports the rotating drivetrain. The sensor is attached to at least one of the thrust bearing housing or the gas thrust bearing. The valve supply line is fluidly coupled to the closed flowpath. A valve positioned within the valve supply line selectively allows a working fluid to flow between the closed flowpath and a thrust chamber defined by a rotating surface and a fixed surface to modify an axial load on the rotating drivetrain.
PROCESSING MACHINE AND PRESSURE ADJUSTMENT METHOD
A processing machine includes: a static pressure bearing configured to support a drive shaft; a fluid feeder configured to output a fluid to be supplied to the static pressure bearing, in accordance with rotation of a servomotor; a sensor configured to detect a physical quantity of the fluid output from the fluid feeder; and a control unit configured to control the rotation speed of the servomotor according to the physical quantity of the fluid.
Pressure system for bearing assembly and method of use
A bearing pressure system includes a bearing assembly having a first component movable against a second component and at least one accumulator in fluid communication with an interface between the first and second components, the at least one accumulator holding a pressurized fluid. A method includes providing a bearing pressure system having a fluid communicable between an accumulator and an interface between components movable relative to each other, providing an amount of pressurized fluid from the accumulator to the interface when the pressure of the fluid at the interface falls below a pressure range being maintained, and transferring an amount of the fluid from the interface to the accumulator when the pressure of the fluid at the interface rises above the pressure range being maintained.
Circumferential Seal Assembly with Multi-Axis Stepped Grooves
A circumferential seal assembly suitable for forming a thin film between a rotatable runner and a sealing ring is presented.
