Fluid film bearing
A fluid film bearing includes a plurality of bearing pads that are arranged in a circumferential direction of a rotating body that rotates about an axis, and that support the rotating body via a fluid film, wherein the bearing pad includes a base layer made of metal, an elastic layer that is layered on the rotating body side of the base layer, and that is made of an elastically deformable elastic material, a sliding layer that is layered on the rotating body side of the elastic layer, and that opposes the rotating body and is made of a bearing material, and a metal plate that is layered between the elastic layer and the sliding layer, and that is more rigid than the elastic layer and the sliding layer.
BEARING ASSEMBLY
A bearing assembly, particularly refrigerant lubricated bearing assembly, having at least an inner ring and an outer ring, which are rotatable to each other. At least one bearing ring is made from a nitrogen-alloyed stainless steel having a nitrogen (N) content of more than 0.6 wt.-%. A method for manufacturing such a bearing ring is also provided.
Lubricant-compatible copper alloy
A copper alloy having a high corrosion resistance for a wide range of different lubricants, in particular different base oils and a variation of lubricant additives. The property of a low corrosion tendency for different tribological systems is also combined with good mechanical properties, and a high strength in particular. The alloy has a low wear and coefficient of friction. The lubricant-compatible copper alloy is suitable for producing components that come in contact with lubricant and are exposed to friction stresses, such as gear components, for example synchronizer rings. A method for manufacturing such components and a gear having at least one such component is also disclosed.
CARRIAGE BEAM ARRANGEMENTS INCLUDING LUBRICATION DEVICES
It is hereby disclosed a carriage arrangement, for example, for usage in a printing system. The arrangement comprising: a carriage: a carriage beam; a drive mechanism to move along a longitudinal direction of the carriage beam; and a lubrication device; wherein the carriage further comprises an attachment mechanism that, upon receipt of a lubrication signal, is to couple the carriage to the lubrication device and instruct the drive mechanism to move the carriage and the lubrication device along the carriage beam.
Oil drainback arrangement for gas turbine engine
A gas turbine engine according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, among other things, a passageway configured to permit fluid to drain back into a bearing compartment. The passageway has an inlet outside the bearing compartment and an outlet inside the bearing compartment. The outlet is spaced-apart from a central rotational axis of a towershaft gear.
GEAR PUMP WITH SELF-LUBRICATING BEARINGS
A gear pump that selectively directs lubrication to certain components within the pump. A system and method of retrofitting existing pumps to improve their longevity in the field. The system and method provides a clean, simple, efficient, and elegant improvement to current gear pump fuel delivery systems.
Exhaust gas turbocharger having a hydrodynamic plain bearing or a hydrodynamic plain bearing
An exhaust gas turbocharger having a hydrodynamic plain bearing or a hydrodynamic plain bearing, comprising a rotor (10) and a counter-bearing part (50) assigned to the rotor (10), wherein a rotor bearing surface (17.1, 17.2, 17.3) of the rotor (10) and a counter-surface of the counter-bearing part (50) face each other to form a hydrodynamic plain bearing, wherein the rotor bearing surface and/or the counterface, when cut along and through the axis of rotation (R) in sectional view, form(s) a continuous bearing contour forming at least two contour sections (44.1 to 44.3; 53.1 to 53.3) to provide hydrodynamic load capacities in both radial and axial directions, and wherein the counter-bearing part (50) is mounted in a bearing housing (60) or housing part. In order to be able to provide such an exhaust gas turbocharger with a compact and efficient bearing arrangement having a hydrodynamic plain bearing, wherein at the same time the hydrodynamic plain bearing can be easily mounted with a small number of parts, provision is made according to the invention that in that a preferably circumferential gap area (57) for forming a trapped oil film is formed between an outer contour of the counter-bearing part (50) and the bearing housing (60) or the housing part, wherein the gap area (57) is spatially connected to a lubricant guide channel (61), and in that the gap area (57) and the continuous bearing contour of the rotor (10) and/or of the counter-bearing part (50) overlap at least sectionally in the direction of the axis of rotation (R).
Pressure compensated external gear machine
Devices and systems relating to external gear machines that comprise microsurface shaping on the lateral surfaces of the gear teeth and/or bushing surfaces are provided. Such microsurface shaping may comprise a flat step to linear wedge profile, a flat step to flat step profile, or solely a linear wedge profile. The incorporation of microsurface shaping on the gear teeth and/or bushing plates contributes to improving the lubrication performance within the external gear machine and provides significant benefits, including the improvement of operating efficiency, life, and reliability of the system components. Methods for manufacturing the gear teeth and related bushings are also provided, the methods configured to optimize the overall axial balance within the system.
LUBRICANT-IMPREGNATED BUSHING FOR IMPACT TOOL
A tool includes a housing, a drive assembly including an output shaft extending from the housing such that a tool element for performing work on a workpiece is attachable to the output shaft, and a bushing disposed within the housing. The bushing rotatably supports the output shaft. The bushing is impregnated with lubricant such that the bushing is self-lubricating, and the bushing has an impregnation ratio between about 5% and about 25%.
