Grease sealing method and sealing device for ball bearing and ball bearing produced using said sealing method
A retainer is rotationally driven about a axis of a ball bearing, and convex areas having pockets provided therein along a ball pitch circle of the retainer and concave areas between adjacent pockets is detected by a sensor. Grease is discharged according to phases of the convex areas and concave areas in the rotationally driven retainer from a dispenser having grease discharge ports arranged to face an annular space.
Machine element
A machine element, in particular for a shaping machine, includes a lubricated bearing and/or a seal and a primary drainage conduit for catching a fluid medium issuing from the bearing and/or the seal, preferably substantially pressure-lessly. A collecting device is provided for collecting the fluid medium which is caught in the primary drainage conduit over a period of time, and a measuring device is adapted to directly and/or indirectly measure an amount of the fluid medium collected by the collecting device over the period of time.
Lubricant deterioration detection device and lubricant deterioration state evaluation method
A lubricant deterioration detection device of the present invention includes a gas sensor that selectively detects a carbonyl compound. The gas sensor is configured to detect the carbonyl compound from at least one of formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, propanal, butanal, pentanal, n-hexanal, n-heptanal, formic acid, and acetic acid. The detection deterioration device further includes an oil removal portion that removes an oil mist generated from the lubricant.
Method and apparatus for detecting a bearing lubrication failure
A bearing lubrication system includes a lubricant distributor configured to perform a lubrication operation by moving lubricant toward an interior of a housing of a bearing, at least one sensor configured to measure at least one condition of the bearing and to produce a signal indicative of the at least one measured condition and a controller configured to produce a transient detection signal, a signal indicative of a second derivative of the measurement signal, for example, and to determine whether an absolute value of the transient detection signal exceeds a threshold value during a given time period after the lubrication operation and to output a failure signal indicative of a lubrication failure in response to a determination that the absolute value of the transient detection signal does not exceed the threshold value during the given time period. Also a method of operating a bearing lubrication system.
Yaw assembly for a wind turbine
A yaw assembly for a wind turbine may include a bushing configured for securement within a yaw cylinder containing a yaw piston and a yaw pad having a first side configured for engagement with a slew ring of the wind turbine and a second side configured for engagement with the yaw piston, a thrust stem engaged with the bushing and configured to apply force to the yaw pad against the slew ring, the thrust stem biased away from the yaw pad by one or more springs residing within the yaw piston, and an anti-rotation collar disposed at an interface between the thrust stem and the yaw piston, the anti-rotation collar including a flange extending from a bottom-center portion thereof, the flange disposed between the one or more springs and a bottom end of the yaw piston.
Release bearing cover and washer seal
A cover comprises a substrate and a grease lid. The substrate comprises a main body comprising a branched grease pathway, a locating side comprising a grease supply port, and a lubricating side comprising a plurality of grease ports. The grease lid constrains the branched grease pathway and is configured so that when grease enters the locating side grease supply port, the grease traverses the branched grease pathway and exits the grease ports.
In Situ Lubrication of Thin Section Bearings
A lubrication system for an enclosed rolling element bearing may be achieved through a channel drilled through the outer race of the bearing and the outer surface of the bearing housing. The channel provides a direct path for the injection of lubricant via a grease gun or syringe to reach the rolling elements within. The lubrication system can be adjusted to assure lubricant does not leak from the channel with the addition of a tube or hollow screw or combination of the two along the entirety of the channel.
VEHICLE MAIN ELECTRIC MOTOR
A vehicle main electric motor includes: a ring-shaped filling chamber, which is formed in contact with a ball bearing and a roller bearing in a direction of a rotation shaft, for filling with a semi-solid lubricant, and which has a central axis concentric with the rotation shaft; and a discharge section connected to the filling chamber, for inflow of the semi-solid lubricant from the filling chamber. A display member, which has a specific gravity lower than a specific gravity of the semi-solid lubricant, is arranged, in an interior of the discharge section, at an initial position that is a position not reached by the semi-solid lubricant during an initial greasing. The discharge section has a retaining part for retaining, at a movement position that is a determined position within the discharge section, the display member moving in a greasing direction due to pressure of the semi-solid lubricant during a supplemental greasing. At least a portion of visible light from the exterior reaches at least a portion of the movement position.
Monitoring the filling level of lubricant in a bearing
A method of monitoring the amount of lubricant inside a bearing of a wind turbine is provided. The bearing includes a lubricant for reducing wear and fatigue of the bearing, a seal for minimizing the amount of lubricant which is leaking out of the bearing, a ventilation device with at least one pressure compensation hole for enabling a pressure compensation between the sealed bearing and the ambient, and a lubricant drain hole for enabling lubricant to exit the bearing in a controlled manner. The method includes the steps of blowing a compressed medium through the pressure compensation hole into the bearing; measuring the pressure inside the bearing; and determining the amount of lubricant inside the bearing based on the measured pressure.
Sealing device and method for applying grease thereto
A sealing device is disposed between an inner member and an outer member that rotate relative to each other to seal a gap between the inner member and the outer member of the sealing device, and includes a first sealing member including a cylindrical part to be mounted to the outer member, and an annular part that extends radially inward from the cylindrical part toward the inner member; and a second sealing member including a sleeve to be mounted to the inner member, and a flange that extends radially outward from the sleeve, the flange facing the annular part of the first sealing member. The first sealing member includes at least three axial lips made from an elastic material that extends from the annular part toward the flange of the second sealing member. An axial lip disposed radially outer side has an interference that is greater than that of an axial lip disposed radially inner side.
