Protective ring, sealing arrangement and journal cross assembly
A protective ring for a sealing arrangement of a bearing bushing of a journal cross assembly. The protective ring has an annular sleeve segment, which is concentric to a longitudinal axis, an annular seat segment which extends radially inward at a rear axial end of the sleeve segment, and at least one protrusion, which protrudes radially inward at a front axial end region of the sleeve segment. The protective ring also has a plurality of webs, which are distributed over the circumference and which protrude axially from the seat segment and are arranged inside the sleeve segment.
Bearing assembly with an integrated seal
A bearing assembly for a shaft comprises an outer shell including first and second radial walls axially spaced apart from each other and joined by a circumferential wall. A sealing element is disposed in the outer shell and includes a body portion in sealing engagement with the first radial wall or the circumferential wall of the outer shell. The sealing element includes a lip portion protruding radially inward from the body portion. The lip portion is arranged to sealingly engage the shaft. A bearing is press fitted in the outer shell between the sealing element and the second radial wall of the outer shell.
One-way bearing
A one-way bearing, including: an outer race fixed around an inner supporting bracket, wherein the combination of the outer race and the inner supporting bracket defines a plurality of cavities between the outer race and the inner supporting bracket; and a rolling member provided in each of the plurality of cavities, wherein the rolling member is arrange to rotate and move within each of the plurality of cavities; wherein a blocking structure is provided at each of the plurality of cavities so as to block the rolling member within each of the plurality of cavities from entering an adjacent cavity.
Universal joint
A universal joint including a joint cross having a bearing journal supported in a trunnion bearing having a bearing bushing and a seal assembly including a one-piece seal body sealing the journal cross against the bearing bushing, the seal body having a first lip configured to form a dynamic seal on the bearing bushing or on a U-shaped sleeve connected to the bearing bushing, a second lip configured to form a dynamic seal on the bearing bushing or on the sleeve, a first arm of the sleeve being press-fit in a cylindrical receiving surface of the bearing bushing, or the sleeve having a section that is rounded or doubly corrugated in radial section, or wherein between the seal body and rolling elements of the trunnion bearing a separate ring part is disposed and pressed towards the rolling elements by at least one elastic element projecting from the seal body.
Needle bush bearing with sealing device
A needle bearing assembly includes a seal such as a double lip metal stiffener seal, and a washer within the shell. The double lip seals are accommodated within a chamber of the needle bush bearing assembly. The metal stiffener is used on a body of the double lip seal. A washer is used between one of the plane surfaces of double lip seal having a metal stiffener and the needle surface. The washer serves as a contact portion and is guided by the shell. A portion of the shell provides room to the external lip of the seal for proper placement inside the shell internal diameter.
Sealing assembly for a cup bearing of a universal joint
A sealing assembly for a cup bearing of a universal joint includes a seal sub-assembly configured to be positioned in a space between a cup of the cup bearing and a trunnion of the universal joint. The seal sub-assembly includes an elastic sealing member configured to contact an outer surface of the trunnion, and a seal insert attached to the elastic sealing member and configured to contact an inner surface of the cup. The seal insert includes an extension portion configured to contact and extend away from a rim surface of the cup. The sealing assembly further includes an external shield including an inner portion and an outer portion. The inner portion is configured to contact the outer surface of the trunnion, and the outer portion is attached to the extension portion of the seal insert.
CARBONITRIDING OF UNIVERSAL JOINT BUSHES
Universal joint bushes for universal joints are disclosed, as well as methods of making or treating the universal joint bushes. The universal joint bush may include an outer ring, which has a peripheral layer (R) formed by at least one measure for diffusing an element into regions of the universal joint bush near the surface. The peripheral layer (R) of the outer ring may include nitrogen. A method for producing a universal joint bush having a nitrogen-containing peripheral layer (R) may include preparing a universal joint bush made from a case-hardened steel and diffusing, via a thermochemical treatment, nitrogen into regions of the universal joint bush that are close to the surface in order to form the nitrogen-containing peripheral layer (R). The thermochemical treatment may be carried out in a temperature range of at least 800 C.
PROPELLER SHAFT TUBE YOKE OPTIMIZED FOR IMPROVED WELD FATIGUE RELIABILITY
A tube yoke end fitting for coupling to a shaft tube of a drive shaft assembly includes a tubular first portion having a first end and a second end. The first end configured for coupling to the shaft tube. The tube yoke end fitting includes a second portion including a pair of ears extending outwardly from the second end of the first portion. The pair of ears is diametrically spaced from each other with respect to the first portion. Each of the pair of ears includes an aperture formed therethrough. A yoke length of the tube yoke end fitting measured from a center of each of the apertures to the first end of the first portion is greater than an ear span of the tube yoke end fitting measured between outer surfaces of the pair of ears.
Bearing device
In a bearing device 1 which is assembled to a pinion 3 of a rack-and-pinion type drive mechanism 2, the bearing device 1 has a plurality of needle rollers 13. A plurality of pin rollers 9 are supported by an inner surface cylindrically formed by the plurality of needle rollers 13. Each of the plurality of needle rollers 13 is held at both ends 13a, 13b in an axial direction R by a retainer cage 14, so as to prevent the needle rollers 13 from being skewed against the axial direction R.
