CONSTANT VELOCITY UNIVERSAL JOINT BOOT
An object is to provide a constant velocity universal joint boot that can improve resistance to fatigue failure and achieve further extension of service life even if a constant velocity universal joint swings at a large operating angle. To achieve this object, a constant velocity universal joint boot is adopted, in which a large-diameter annular portion mounted on a mating member whose outer circumferential surface is formed into a non-circular shape, and at least a part of the inner circumferential surface of the large-diameter annular portion formed into a non-circular shape, and the large-diameter annular portion, a boot bellows portion, and a small-diameter annular portion attached to a shaft are integrated, and an annular recess is provided in that part of the inner circumferential surface of the large-diameter annular portion which is adjacent to the bellows.
TRIPOD CONSTANT-VELOCITY JOINT
A tripod constant-velocity joint including: an inner ring; three trunnions protruding from the inner ring; three roller units supported by the trunnions; and an outer ring storing the roller units. Each roller unit includes: an inner roller that is in contact with a convex outer-circumferential surface of the corresponding trunnion at a tangent point; an outer roller supported by the inner roller through rolling elements that are interposed between the inner and outer rollers; and a limiting portion protruding from the outer roller, so as to limit movements of the rolling elements and the inner roller. A clearance between the inner roller and the limiting portion is smaller than an axial length of a crowned end portion of each rolling element, and is larger than a stroke distance of reciprocating movement of the tangent point when a joint angle of the tripod constant-velocity joint is a predetermined value.
METHOD FOR ASSEMBLING A TRIPOD ROLLER, TRIPOD ROLLER, AND CONSTANT VELOCITY JOINT HAVING THE TRIPOD ROLLER
Constant velocity joints are used in vehicles to transmit a torque from the drive train to the driven wheels and at the same time to allow bending movements to allow the vehicle to drive around bends or to dip the chassis relative to the driven wheels. An outer ring of a tripod roller has flanges which retain rollers and retain an inner ring. During assembly, the inner ring is cooled such that its diameter is reduced such that it can be moved into position axially without interference from the flange. Once the parts return to the same temperature, the inner ring and rollers are retained.

The present disclosure is concerned with a personal care device having a head portion having a driven treatment head, a handle portion having a drive unit for providing a motion having a motion direction, and a drive train extending between the drive unit and the driven treatment head for transmitting the motion from the drive unit to the driven treatment head, the drive train having a separable coupling. The separable coupling has a first coupling part having a first coupling element, a second coupling part having a second coupling element, the first and the second coupling elements being separably engaged with each other, and a resilient element biasing the first coupling element and the second coupling element against each other so that the first and second coupling elements are engaged in a gap-free manner along the motion direction.

Provided is a method of manufacturing an outer joint member of a constant velocity universal joint, which is constructed by forming a cup section having track grooves, and a shaft section, and by welding a cup member and a shaft member, the method including: forming the cup member and the shaft member of medium carbon steel; preparing a cup member having a cylindrical portion and a bottom portion integrally formed by forging, and a joining end surface in a machining step; preparing a shaft member having a joining end surface formed in a machining step; bringing the joining end surface of the cup member and the joining end surface of the shaft member into abutment against each other; welding the cup member and the shaft member by radiating a beam; and performing, after the welding, an ultrasonic flaw detection-inspection step.
Outer joint member of a constant velocity universal joint
An outer joint member of a constant velocity universal joint includes a cup section having track grooves formed in an inner periphery thereof, which are engageable with torque transmitting elements, and a shaft section formed at a bottom portion of the cup section. The cup section and the shaft section are formed as separate members, and by bringing a cup member forming the cup section and a shaft member forming the shaft section into abutment against each other at respective joining end surfaces and welding them, a hollow cavity portion is formed. The cup member has, at an axial center, a ventilation hole that communicates with the hollow cavity portion and any one of the joining end surfaces of the cup member and the joining end surface of the shaft member has a welding spatter receiving groove formed on a radially inner side thereof.
A HYDRAULIC DEVICE AND A PIVOT JOINT
A hydraulic device (1) comprises a housing (2) and a shaft (3) which is rotatable about a first axis of rotation (4). The shaft (3) has a flange (8), a partly spherical portion (16) and a plurality of pistons (9), which are fixed to the flange (8). The device (1) also has a plurality of cylindrical sleeves (11), wherein each sleeve (11) has a sleeve bottom (13) comprising a sleeve opening (14) including a centreline (23). The sleeves (11) cooperate with the pistons (9) to form respective compression chambers (12) of variable volume. A barrel plate (15) is mounted on the partly spherical portion (16) and has barrel plate ports (21) including respective centrelines (22). The sleeves (11) are rotatable about a second axis of rotation (19) which intersects the first axis of rotation (4) by an acute swash angle. The barrel plate (15) is coupled to the shaft (3) in rotational direction thereof by means of a plurality of pin-groove couplings creating a plurality of pivot axes (24) about the second axis of rotation (19). The widths of the grooves (18) allow the pins (17) to move within the respective corresponding grooves (18) in rotational direction about the second axis of rotation (19) under operating conditions. The relative position of the shaft (3) and the barrel plate (15) in rotational direction about the second axis of rotation (19) is adapted such that under operating conditions each centreline (22) of the respective barrel plate ports (21) fluctuates in rotational direction about the second axis of rotation (19) with respect to the centreline (23) of the corresponding sleeve opening (14) within a range in which the centreline (23) of the sleeve opening (14) lies.
Device for inspecting junction-type outer joint member of constant velocity universal joint
An inspection device inspects a joint-type outer joint member of a constant velocity universal joint that includes a cup section having a bottomed cylindrical shape and track grooves in an inner periphery thereof for torque transmitting elements, and a shaft section extending from a bottom of the cup section. The inspection device inspects the outer joint member, which is obtained through melt-welding on a cup member forming the cup section and a shaft member forming the shaft section. The inspection device includes a surface inspection unit to inspect for a defect which appears on a surface of the outer joint member due to welding, an internal inspection unit to inspect for an internal defect of a welded portion, and a recording unit to record an inspection result of the inspection. The inspection device is configured to efficiently perform in-line total inspection for the melt-welded joint-type outer joint member.
