Elastic short-pin type universal joint
11965563 · 2024-04-23 · ·

An elastic short-pin type universal joint includes a first base, a second base, a jointer, a first elastic member, two second elastic members, and four short pins. The first base engages the second base to form a space therebetween. The jointer is received in the space between the first and the second bases. The jointer has a first bore passing through the jointer, a second bore, and a third bore. The first elastic member is received in the first bore of the jointer, and the second elastic members are received in the second bore and the third bore. The short pins are urged by ends of the first elastic member and the second elastic members to press the first base and the second base respectively. As a result, the first base is able to rotate related to the second base in all directions.

Full contact joint assembly

A joint for a BHA includes an inner driven rod, an outer drive coupling, and a thrust plate. The inner driven rod includes at least one lobe extending radially therefrom. The outer drive coupling includes a keyway formed therein corresponding to and adapted to receive each lobe. A thrust plate is positioned between at least one side of each lobe and the corresponding keyway. The thrust plate may allow for the reduction of point or line stress loading on the lobe and keyway.

HIGH TORQUE CONSTANT VELOCITY JOINT FOR DOWNHOLE DRILLING POWER TRANSMISSION

A constant velocity joint for downhole power transmission has a first insert mounted in a radially extending drive shaft arm. The first insert engages a second insert mounted along a slot formed in a tubular housing disposed to receive the arm. The material for the two inserts may be different, having different galling properties. An insert may be shaped to have at least a flat surface, a cylindrical surface intersecting the flat surface, and a conical surface intersecting the cylindrical surface. The inserts may extend beyond the cavities in which they are mounted. Opposing cavity walls adjacent the cavity opening may be angled away from one another to permit the insert to flex under a load. The back wall of a cavity and back surface of an insert may be arcuate to permit rotational movement of the insert under a load.

High-pressure washer and method for assembly of a high-pressure washer

A high-pressure washer has a housing and an actuator rotatably supported about an actuator rotation axis. A control element is arranged rotatably at the housing and is provided to control the actuator. The control element and the actuator are fixedly connected to each other for joint rotation by one or more universal joints.

Coupling joint
09989100 · 2018-06-05 ·

A coupling joint having a hollow cylindrically-shaped housing with a closed end and a housing opening is described. The housing has a ring groove adjacent the opening and a splined housing shaft which extends from the closed end. A spherical bearing is partially located within the housing. The spherical bearing has a splined bearing shaft that extends from the housing. A first socket half and a second socket half are located within the housing. The first and second socket halves capture the spherical bearing in a socket formed by the first socket half and by the second socket half. A housing snap ring located in a ring groove retains the first socket half; the spherical bearing and the second socket half within the housing. A first socket half and second socket half receive couplers that mate the spherical bearing to the first socket half and second socket half.

ROTATION TRANSMITTER

A rotation transmitter includes a first member, a second member, and an intermediate member. The first member is connected to the intermediate member by a first rotary mechanism. The second member is connected to the intermediate member by a second rotary mechanism. A second rotary mechanism includes: a second radial pin supported by a first one of the second member and the intermediate member; a plurality of pairs of rollers disposed at different positions of the second radial pin and each of the pairs of rollers holding the second radial pin therebetween; axial pins supporting the respective rollers while supported by a second one of the second member and the intermediate member; and stroke bearings respectively interposed between the rollers and the axial pins and supporting the rollers so that the rollers are rotatable around the axial pins and movable in a direction of the rotation axis.

A universal joint or other vehicle driveline assembly includes an inner race, an outer race, and bearings positioned between the races. In some embodiments, the components of the universal joint that are in contact with the bearings are selectively processed to be harder than the other non-contact surfaces of the component.

UNIVERSAL JOINT BEARING AND UNIVERSAL JOINT CROSS

A universal joint bearing includes a trunnion, a cup, rolling elements rotatably supporting the cup relative to the trunnion, and at least one seal for sealing a space between the trunnion and the cup. The cup has a substantially cylindrical surface, which is a part of a radially outer surface of the universal joint bearing. All of the rolling elements of the universal joint bearing are arranged in a certain number of rows of rolling elements. A sum of the maximum axial lengths of all the rows of rolling element divided by the sum of the maximum axial length of the substantially cylindrical surface and the maximum axial length of a radially outer surface of the at least one seal, which is another part of the radially outer surface of the universal joint bearing, is between 0.6 and 0.75.
