PROPELLER SHAFT AND PROPELLER SHAFT PRODUCTION METHOD
Apparatus, such as a propeller shaft, includes an outer circumferential portion or outer race to rotate as a unit with an internal shaft (serving as the propeller shaft), an inner circumferential member or inner race to rotate as a unit with an external shaft and a plurality of balls disposed between the outer race and inner race, for transmitting rotation therebetween. A sleeve rotating as a unit with the inner race includes an inside cavity for receiving the external shaft. The sleeve is coated with a coating formed on an inside circumferential surface.
Constant velocity joint with crash collapse feature
A constant velocity joint assembly with a crash collapse feature. The constant velocity joint assembly includes an inner race, an outer race, a cage and one or more torque transfer elements. The inner race is drivingly connected to a first shaft and the outer race is connected to a second shaft. Circumferentially extending along at least a portion of an inner surface of the outer race is one or more outer race torque transfer element grooves. One or more crash collapse features circumferentially extend radially inward from at least a portion of the inner surface of the outer race and are disposed directly adjacent to the one or more outer race torque transfer element grooves in the outer race. The one or more crash collapse features are disposed entirely between the one or more outer race torque transfer element grooves and do not extend axially beyond the grooves.
DRIVE SHAFT AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREFOR
A drive shaft includes a first shaft member made of metal, a tubular member made of CFRP, and a first exterior sleeve. The first shaft member is capable of being attached on one end side thereof to a first constant velocity joint, and has a first serrated part on which serrations are formed on another end side thereof. The tubular member is formed with a first fitting part fitted externally over the first serrated part. The first exterior sleeve covers the first fitting part by being disposed to extend over outer circumferential surfaces of the first shaft member and the tubular member. A film provided with a bonding assistance region and an adhesive are interposed between the outer circumferential surface of the tubular member and the inner circumferential surface of the first exterior sleeve.
CONSTANT VELOCITY JOINT AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREFOR
A first constant velocity joint is equipped with a cup part made of a light alloy. First ball grooves that receive a torque from torque transmitting members are formed on an inner wall of the cup part. A high hardness layer made of ceramic or cermet as a principal component thereof is formed on an inner surface of the cup part including at least inner surfaces of the first ball grooves.
CONNECTION ARRANGEMENT FOR AXIALLY SECURING A SHAFT-HUB CONNECTION, AND METHOD FOR AXIALLY SECURING A SHAFT-HUB CONNECTION
A connection arrangement for axially securing a shaft-hub connection includes a shaft and a hub with an inner stop surface for the shaft and an outer groove for axially positioning a securing device. The securing device has an axially extending sleeve-shaped part and a radial collar. The sleeve-shaped part at least partly surrounds the circumference of the hub, and the radial collar at least partly engages behind the annular end surface of the hub. The inner stop surface for the shaft in the housing is formed by a recess. The securing device includes a radially deformable holding socket, the axially extending sleeve-shaped part of which is surrounded by a tensioning strap. The holding socket region which is offset radially inwards surrounds the expanded outer groove of the hub coaxially in the assembled state of the shaft-hub connection and can be locked in the expanded outer groove of the hub by the tensioning strap, the radial collar of the holding socket resting against the axial securing ring of the shaft in the locked state.
HUB BUILT-IN TYPE CONSTANT VELOCITY JOINT
A hub built-in type constant velocity joint may include a plurality of wheel guide coupling portions to which wheel guides are configured to be coupled, and a hub housing which is formed between the wheel guide coupling portions and in which a discharge portion is formed to be stepped with each of the wheel guide coupling portions and configured to discharge foreign materials to the outside.
CONSTANT VELOCITY JOINT WITH CRASH COLLAPSE FEATURE
A constant velocity joint assembly with a crash collapse feature. The constant velocity joint assembly includes an inner race, an outer race, a cage and one or more torque transfer elements. The inner race is drivingly connected to a first shaft and the outer race is connected to a second shaft. Circumferentially extending along at least a portion of an inner surface of the outer race is one or more outer race torque transfer element grooves. One or more crash collapse features circumferentially extend radially inward from at least a portion of the inner surface of the outer race and are disposed directly adjacent to the one or more outer race torque transfer element grooves in the outer race. The one or more crash collapse features are disposed entirely between the one or more outer race torque transfer element grooves and do not extend axially beyond the grooves.
A COUPLING ASSEMBLY HAVING ANGLED FASTENER HOLES
A coupling assembly having a first member drivingly connected to a second member via one or more third members. A first shaft is drivingly connected to the first member and a second shaft is drivingly connected to the second member. The second member includes a flange portion having one or more seating portions on a first end portion of the flange. Additionally, the flange has one or more flange portion attachment apertures extending from the seating portions to a second end portion of the flange. An increased diameter portion of the second shaft has one or more increased diameter portion apertures extending from a first end portion to a second end portion. The flange portion apertures and the increased diameter portion apertures have a center-line with an angle from an axial center-line of the assembly. Additionally, the seating portions have an angle relative to a radial center-line of the assembly.
Universal joint or constant velocity joint torque transmission interface
A universal or constant velocity joint includes a first rotatable shaft member that extends along a longitudinal axis, a bearing member, and a joining member. The first rotatable shaft member has a free end that defines a shaft face spline. The bearing member includes a bearing hub having a first end, a second end, and a longitudinally extending hub bore. The first end has a hub face spline. The joining member fixes the bearing member to the shaft with the hub face spline and shaft face spline engaged in interlocking engagement.
DIRECT PINION MOUNT JOINT ASSEMBLY
A joint assembly for use in a motor vehicle. The joint assembly includes a first joint member that is drivingly connected to a second joint member via one or more third joint members. At least a portion of the first joint member is drivingly connected to at least a portion of a first shaft and at least a portion of the second joint member is drivingly connected to at least a portion of a second shaft. One or more first joint member tool grooves circumferentially extends along the outer surface of the first joint member. The joint assembly further includes a nut that drivingly connects at least a portion of a third shaft to at least a portion of the second shaft. The nut includes one or more nut tool grooves circumferentially extending along the outer surface of the nut.
