Center bearing assembly including a rotatable weld collar with a tuned damper

A center bearing assembly for a multi-piece propeller shaft includes a stud yoke extending along an axis A between first and second stud yoke ends to define a central stub shaft rotatable about the axis A. A rotatable weld collar is operably connected to the second stud yoke end of the central stub shaft for simultaneous rotation therewith. The rotatable weld collar includes a body extending from a first collar end disposed adjacent the central stub shaft to a second collar end to define an exterior surface. A tuned damper extends radially outwardly from the exterior surface of the rotatable weld collar for reducing noise, vibration, and/or harshness (NVH) generated during operation of the multi-piece propeller shaft. A first shaft segment is operably connected to the rotatable weld collar and a second shaft segment is operably connected to the stud yoke for transferring a rotational force therebetween.

WHEEL-DRIVE ASSEMBLY

A wheel drive assembly for transferring propelling torque from a source shaft to a wheel, the source shaft receiving torque from a motion actuator. The wheel drive assembly includes a wheel-hub, adapted to have the wheel mounted thereon, the wheel-hub being arranged about a longitudinal axis, which is adapted to coincide with a rotation axis of the wheel. The wheel drive assembly further includes a drive axle and a constant velocity (CV) joint mounted onto an outer end of the drive axle. The CV joint connects the drive axle to the wheel-hub. An outermost surface of the CV joint is disposed outwardly of an outermost surface of the wheel hub, along the longitudinal axis of the wheel-hub.

Joint assembly capable of constant rotational speed and a power tool comprising the same

A constant-velocity joint assembly for a power tool includes an output shaft and a coupling structure configured to drive the output shaft. The output shaft and the coupling structure form a joint configured to enable angling of the output shaft relative to the coupling structure at constant rotational speed, and the coupling structure is provided with a torque transducer configured to detect a torque acting on the coupling structure provided by the output shaft.

High retention force serviceable plug-on joint assembly

A joint assembly includes a first member having splines formed therein. A second member includes splines formed thereon and is coupled to the first member. The splines of the first member engage the splines of the second member. An access window is formed on the first member. A ring retains the first member to the second member. A portion of the ring is accessible through the access window, where the ring can be manipulated to release the first member from the second member.

A shaft connection, e.g., for a motor vehicle driveline, comprises a metal shaft tube material and a metal connecting element. The connecting element comprises a connecting portion with an outer toothing which is pressed with a press fit into a connecting portion of the shaft tube so that an interlocking connection effective in the circumferential direction is formed for torque transmission, wherein the connecting element comprises a maximum outer diameter in the region of the outer toothing; wherein the shaft tube comprises an axial connecting region which is formed radially inwardly into a section of the connecting portion that is reduced relative to the outer toothing so that an interlocking axial connection effective in the axial direction is formed between the shaft tube and the connecting element for transmitting axial forces. A drive shaft can have such a shaft connection.
