A cup assembly for a pin of a universal joint bearing includes a cup, a first seal ring attached to the cup, and a second seal ring. The first seal ring includes an elastic element and a spring element configured to preload the elastic element toward the pin, the second seal ring includes a dimensionally stable seal section that is configured to sealingly interact with the pin, and the second seal ring is connected to the cup either directly, or via the elastic element or via an elastic retainer. Also a method of installing the cup assembly.

Assembly method and assembly apparatus for cross shaft universal joint

An assembly apparatus includes backup jigs, a press-fitting and caulking part, and an expansion part. The backup jigs is configured to back up arms of a yoke of the cross shaft universal joint from inside in an axial direction. The press-fitting and caulking part is configured to press-fit cup bearings from outside in the axial direction between bearing holes of the arms and a shaft portion of a cross shaft, and configured to caulk the cup bearings. The expansion part is configured to push a wedge body between the backup jigs and to expand the arms outward via the backup jigs. The press-fitting and caulking part is configured to press-fit the cup bearings and to caulk the cup bearings in a state in which the arms are expanded. The expansion part is configured to release an expansion of the arms after the press-fitting and caulking of the cup bearings.

Drivelines having double conical bearing joints incorporated therein are provided. The double conical bearing joints provide the drivelines with multiple degrees of freedom and allow the driveline to bear load in any direction. The conical bearing joints of the driveline include polycrystalline diamond bearing surfaces.

Universal joint and propeller shaft

A cross joint comprises a flange yoke and a stab yoke, each comprising a based end portion and a pair of arm portions having a shaft hole and extending from both sides of the base end portion, and a spider having a first shaft fitted into the shaft hole of the flange yoke and a second shaft fitted into the shaft hole of the stab yoke, wherein the cross joint further comprises a flexing limiting portion, which limits a flexing angle of the cross joint due to mutual contact of a protruding portion of the base end portion and a flange portion of the spider when the flange yoke is flexed to a predetermined angle.

UNIVERSAL JOINT FOR A STEERING SHAFT OF A MOTOR VEHICLE

A universal joint may include a joint cross having two pairs of journals arranged at right angles to one another and two joint yokes that each have opposing arms. Each journal may be rotatably mounted in the opposing arms about a journal axis in a journal bearing that has a pot-shaped outer bushing that is fixed in the respective arms and that has an outer pot base disposed opposite an end side of the journal. A convexly projecting contact region may contact the outer pot base. Further, an inner bushing may be fixed on the journal, and rolling bodies may be disposed between the inner bushing and the pot-shaped outer bushing. The convexly projecting contact region may project axially on the end side relative to a surface of the inner bushing that acts as a raceway for the rollable rolling bodies.

Structural unit, universal joint bearing and assembling procedure

A structural unit for assembly to a trunnion of a universal joint bearing providing a cup, a sealing ring, which is fixed to the cup, and a shield, which is connected to the cup in a state in which the structural unit is not assembled to the trunnion. The cup includes a bottom and the sealing ring provides at least one sealing lip that points in a direction with an axial component towards the bottom.
