An object of the present invention is to provide an electric disc brake suitable for improving responsiveness. The electric disc brake includes: a rotation linear motion conversion mechanism configured to convert rotational motion of the rotary member into linear motion; a return spring configured to store torque for retreating the piston according to rotation of a rotary member; and a clutch configured to make a transition between a state in which the torque is able to be stored in the return spring and a state in which storage of the torque in the return spring is deterred. The clutch includes: a first disc and a third disc configured to rotate together with the rotary member, and a second disc disposed between the first disc and the third disc. The return spring has one end portion coupled to the caliper body and another end portion coupled to the second disc.

Disclosed is a caliper brake including a carrier on which a pair of pad plates are installed to advance and retreat, a caliper housing slidably installed on the carrier and provided with a cylinder, a piston installed in the cylinder and provided to advance and retreat toward the pad plates by braking hydraulic pressure, a seal groove formed to be annularly recessed into an inner surface of the cylinder, and a ring-shaped seal member in close contact with an outer surface of the piston and accommodated in the seal groove, wherein the seal groove includes a bottom surface with which an outer circumferential surface of the seal member is in close contact, a first surface facing a front surface of the seal member, a second surface facing a rear surface of the seal member, and a bent surface in contact with the bottom surface and the second surface and provided in an arc shape.

Pad return spring for a disc brake caliper body

A pad return spring for a caliper body. The caliper body has an elongated element connecting bridge connecting a first elongated wheel-side element to a second elongated wheel-side element and having a middle connecting bridge defining an outer middle bridge side, an inner middle bridge side, a middle bridge disc inlet side, and an opposite middle bridge disc outlet side. The pad return spring has a first and a second pad retraction elements, each defining a middle stretch, a first side stretch influencing the first pad, and an opposite second side stretch influencing the second pad to move the first and second pads away from the first and second braking surfaces at the end of a braking action, and an elongated connecting element connecting the first and second pad retraction elements to each other, and an anchoring device to removably restrain the pad return spring to the middle connecting bridge.

Brake assembly

A brake assembly having a brake carrier, a caliper, first and second brake pads, a pad retraction spring, and a first stop surface. The pad retraction spring urges the first and second brake pads in a direction away from a rotor plane. A first supporting portion of the pad retraction spring is configured to abut the first stop surface to inhibit the pad retraction spring from entering a partially enclosed volume.
