Position sensing system and method for gathering vehicle component data
A position sensing system and method for a braking assembly for a vehicle. The braking assembly includes a rotor, a caliper assembly disposed around the rotor and having a fixed mount bracket and a floating portion which moves when the brakes are applied. The position sensing system has a sensing element and a reference portion. The sensing element is attached to a location of the braking assembly such that the reference portion moves in relation to the sensing element when the floating portion moves. The sensor assembly is configured to generate a signal correlative to the relative positions of the sensing element and reference portion. The position sensing system includes a processor configured to store predetermined signatures and determine a condition of a component of the vehicle based on a match between the signal and one of the predetermined signatures.

BRAKE CALIPER, WEAR INDICATION DEVICE, AND VEHICLE BRAKE
A brake caliper (10) for a vehicle brake (1) includes a brake pad (100), having a friction lining (120) and a brake pad carrier (140) configured to carry the friction lining (120), and a wear indication device (200) having a fixation device (210) and a signal wire (220). The signal wire (220) includes a looped portion (222), and the fixation device (210) has a front part (214), a back part (216), and a bridge (217) connecting the front part (214) and the back part (216). The looped portion (222) of the signal wire (220) is at least partly arranged externally on the front part (214) and projects towards a contact surface (121) of the friction lining (120). A hook (226) extends from the back part (216) of the fixation device (210) and engages with said looped portion (222).
A Wear Sensor System
The present invention is a wear sensing and monitoring system including: at least one sensor node, and wireless communication means, and a gateway node, and a remote monitoring and management node, wherein the wireless communication means are adapted to enable the at least one sensor node to have at least one-way wireless communication from the node to the gateway node. The gateway node is adapted to have at least one way wired or wireless communication from the gateway node to the remote monitoring and management node. Note that the two nodes may be included in the one device.
Brake pad assembly
A brake pad assembly is provided in the present disclosure. The brake pad assembly includes at least one back plate, at least one brake pad, at least one sensor plate and a warning module. The brake pad is on the surface of the board. The brake pad is surrounded by the sensor plate, and the sensor plate forms a closed circuit. The warning module is electrically connected to the sensor plate. A warning signal is generated by the warning module when the closed circuit of the sensor plate forms an open circuit or a short circuit.
BRAKE WARNING SYSTEM
A brake warning system has a processing apparatus, a sensing apparatus, a light emitting apparatus, a signal transmitting apparatus, a signal receiving apparatus, a power source apparatus, and a mounting housing. The brake warning system provides a color indicator to indicate the condition of the brake pad whether in “good” condition or “poor” condition and generates a warning message for a user in the event of detecting conditions needing attention and maintenance.
DEVICE FOR RECOGNIZING WEAR OF A BRAKE PAD OF A DISC BRAKE
A wear indication device (10) for a vehicle brake (1), preferably a disc brake of a commercial vehicle, for indicating a wear condition of a brake pad (20) comprising: a fixing section (12) for fixing the wear indication device (10) to a brake pad back plate (30), a sensor head (14) associated to the fixing section (12), and a channel (16) for receiving a signal cable (40) within the sensor head (14). According to the invention, the channel (16) is configured to receive two signal cables (40′, 40″).
BRAKE PAD OF A VEHICLE BRAKE, VEHICLE BRAKE AND METHOD FOR ASSEMBLING A VEHICLE BRAKE
A brake pad of a vehicle brake, in particular of a disc brake of a commercial vehicle, includes a brake pad carrier having a support surface, a friction lining attached to the support surface, a recess extending into the support surface in an axial direction, and a wear indication device arranged at least partially inside the recess. The brake pad carrier includes a clamping member coupled to the wear indication device that rests against an inner wall of the recess. The clamping member is configured to apply a clamping force on the wear indication device in a radial direction. The wear indication device and the clamping member are inserted axially into the recess.
Wear monitoring device and disk brake having a wear monitoring device
A wear monitoring device of a disk brake includes a brake disk, a first brake lining on a first face of the brake disk, and a second brake lining on a second face of the brake disk, in particular for commercial vehicles. The wear monitoring device has a first sensor unit that quantitatively ascertains the cumulative wear of the first and second brake linings. The wear monitoring device outputs, at the output connection of the first sensor unit, a first electrical output signal that is associated with the cumulative wear. A signal line is connected on the one hand to the output connection of the first sensor unit and on the other hand to an evaluating unit. The signal line is arranged in such a manner that, when a predetermined first wear limit of the first or second brake lining is reached, the signal line comes into contact with a stop.
