A multiple-stage ball ramp actuator includes an axially movable outer ring having at least one outer groove and an outer ball disposed in the outer groove. The multiple-stage ball ramp actuator further includes an axially movable inner ring rotatably fixed relative to the outer ring. The inner ring has at least one inner groove and an inner ball disposed in the inner groove.
Integrated torque limiter/no-back device
An integrated torque limiter/no-back device for use in an actuator with an input shaft, an output, and a gear reduction. The device includes an input ramp, an output ramp coupled to the gear reduction, a combined ramp disposed between the input ramp and the output ramp, a first plurality of balls arranged between the input ramp and the combined ramp, a second plurality of balls arranged between the combined ramp and the output ramp, a pin, and a brake. The pin extends from the input ramp to the combined ramp and coupled to the input shaft. The combined ramp, the output ramp, and the second plurality of balls therebetween are configured to operate as a torque limiter by causing the combined ramp and the output ramp to separate and the output ramp to engage the brake when the torque from the input shaft exceeds a torque threshold.
WINCHES WITH AXIALLY ALIGNED, MECHANICALLY ACTUATED BRAKES, AND ASSOCIATED SYSTEMS AMD METHODS
Winches with axially aligned, mechanically actuated brakes, and associated systems and methods are disclosed. A representative winch includes a cable drum rotatable in a winding direction and an unwinding direction, a drive motor, a drive shaft coupled to the drive motor and rotatable about a shaft axis, a gear train coupled to the drive shaft and the cable drum, and a mechanically actuated brake. The brake can include a first element coupled to the drive shaft and rotatable about the shaft axis, a second element coupled to the cable drum and rotatable about the shaft axis, and a friction element positioned between the first and second elements and rotatable about the shaft axis. At least one of the first and second elements can be movable toward and away from the other between an engaged position with the friction element clamped between the first and second elements, and a disengaged position with the friction element unclamped.
MULTIPLE-STAGE BALL RAMP ACTUATOR
A multiple-stage ball ramp actuator includes an axially movable outer ring having at least one outer groove and an outer ball disposed in the outer groove. The multiple-stage ball ramp actuator further includes an axially movable inner ring rotatably fixed relative to the outer ring. The inner ring has at least one inner groove and an inner ball disposed in the inner groove.
Driving apparatus for high-load linear actuator
A high-load linear actuator includes a driving mechanism, a worm shaft, a worm wheel assembly, a lead screw, a telescopic pipe and an outer pipe. The driving mechanism includes a base and a motor. The base has a supporting portion and an accommodating portion. The motor is fixed to the supporting portion. The worm shaft extends from the motor into the supporting portion. The worm wheel assembly includes a worm wheel and two bearings for supporting the worm wheel in the accommodating portion. The worm wheel is engaged with the worm shaft. The lead screw is disposed through the worm wheel and driven by the motor for rotation. The telescopic pipe slips on the lead screw to be threadedly connected therewith. The outer pipe slips on the telescopic pipe. The rotation of the lead screw drives the telescopic pipe to linearly extend or retract relative to the outer pipe.
ROTARY DRIVE DEVICE COMPRISING LOAD-DEPENDENT BRAKES
A rotary drive device includes a housing element, a drive shaft and a driven shaft, both rotatably mounted in the housing element, a transmission device that transmits torque from the drive shaft to the driven shaft, and a braking device configured to counteract rotation of the drive shaft. The braking device includes a drive shaft input element, a braking element connected to the housing element for conjoint rotation, and a coupling element adjustable with respect to the input element. A braking force exerted by the braking device is greater when the coupling element is located in a first position than when located in a second position, and the coupling element assigned to the driven shaft so that adjustment from the first position to the second position is triggered by exceeding a threshold value of the difference in torque between the drive shaft and the driven shaft.
INTEGRATED TORQUE LIMITER/NO-BACK DEVICE
An integrated torque limiter/no-back device for use in an actuator with an input shaft, an output, and a gear reduction. The device includes an input ramp, an output ramp coupled to the gear reduction, a combined ramp disposed between the input ramp and the output ramp, a first plurality of balls arranged between the input ramp and the combined ramp, a second plurality of balls arranged between the combined ramp and the output ramp, a pin, and a brake. The pin extends from the input ramp to the combined ramp and coupled to the input shaft. The combined ramp, the output ramp, and the second plurality of balls therebetween are configured to operate as a torque limiter by causing the combined ramp and the output ramp to separate and the output ramp to engage the brake when the torque from the input shaft exceeds a torque threshold.
