METHODS AND SYSTEM FOR APPLYING A DRIVELINE DISCONNECT CLUTCH
Systems and methods for improving operation of a driveline disconnect clutch for a hybrid vehicle shifting are presented. In one example, pressure of a working fluid supplied to the driveline disconnect clutch is adjusted in response to a rate of change in accelerator pedal position. Further, pressure of the working fluid may be decreased responsive to selected operating conditions.
CONTROL SYSTEM FOR A CLUTCH DURING A REGENERATIVE BRAKING EVENT
A vehicle includes an electric machine, battery, torque converter bypass clutch, drive wheel, and controller. The electric machine is configured to recharge the battery via regenerative braking. The torque converter bypass clutch is disposed between the electric machine and the drive wheel. The controller is programmed to, in response to a negative drive wheel torque command during a regenerative braking event, adjust a closed-state torque capacity of the torque converter bypass clutch based on the torque command.
Torque Converter Clutch Engagement Pressure Control For Regenerative Braking
A vehicle system may include a controller configured to increase, after a specified delay, an engagement pressure of a torque converter clutch prior to occurrence of the event to a target pressure that is based on a regenerative braking torque estimate associated with the event such that a portion of energy associated with the event is converted to electricity. The controller may increase the engagement pressure in response to an accelerator pedal release and an expected regenerative braking event.
CLUTCH CONTROL FOR PROVIDING AN INDICATION TO A DRIVER
An illustrative example embodiment of a system for providing an indication to a driver includes a clutch that is at least partially automatically controllable and clutch control means configured to control the clutch in a manner that results in a haptic indication to a driver based on at least one predefined condition. In an example embodiment, the clutch control includes automatically adjusting an amount of clutch engagement to provide the haptic indication.
VEHICLE LAUNCH CONTROL METHOD
A vehicle launch control method may include judging, by a controller, whether or not a vehicle starts to be launched, determining, by the controller, target clutch torque through a designated first determination method and controlling a clutch based on the determined target clutch torque, upon judging that the vehicle starts to be launched, and determining, by the controller, target clutch torque through a designated second determination method differing from the first determination method and controlling the clutch based on the determined target clutch torque, when an engine speed variation and engine speed jerk respectively satisfy designated variation conditions and jerk conditions during determination of the target clutch torque through the first determination method and control of the clutch based on the determined target clutch torque.
VEHICLE CONTROL DEVICE FOR CONTROLLING INERTIA OPERATION OF VEHICLE
A vehicle control device turns off a clutch to put a vehicle into an inertia operation state in response to a predetermined executing condition being met, and turns on the clutch to terminate the inertia operation state in response to a predetermined terminating condition being met during the inertia operation. The vehicle control device includes a deceleration degree calculating device, a determination device, and an operation control device. The deceleration degree calculating device calculates an actual deceleration degree. The determination device determines whether the actual deceleration degree is greater than a threshold value defined on the basis of a deceleration degree of the vehicle in an accelerator-off and clutch-on state. The operation control device terminates or maintains the inertia operation depending on a condition of the actual deceleration degree.
CLUTCH CONTROL METHOD OF VEHICLE
A clutch control method of a vehicle may include estimating a change in an input torque supplied by a power source based on an extent to which an acceleration pedal is depressed by the controller; obtaining an additional torque at a level to prevent slippage of a clutch against the input torque estimated in the estimating of a change in input torque by the controller; determining a final clutch control torque for controlling the clutch by adding the additional torque, which is obtained in the obtaining of an additional torque, to the input torque by the controller; and controlling the clutch by operating a clutch actuator with the final clutch control torque determined in the determining of a final clutch control torque by the controller.
