SEAL RING
A seal ring exhibits a sealing function even when fluid pressure is low. A first elastic body sealing portion 200X is provided between a first front end surface 111Xa of a first fitting projection 111X and a first opposing surface 112Ya so as to oppose the first front end surface 111Xa, whereby the first elastic body sealing portion 200X presses the first front end surface 111Xa and the first opposing surface away from each other in a circumferential direction, and a second elastic body sealing portion 200Y is provided between a second front end surface 111Ya of a second fitting projection 111Y and a second opposing surface 112Xa so as to oppose the second front end surface 111Ya, whereby the second elastic body sealing portion 200Y presses the second front end surface 111Ya and the second opposing surface 112Xa away from each other in the circumferential direction.
REGULATING VALVE
A regulating valve has a gland portion slidably holding a valve stem and the gland portion includes a lid member having a first through-hole into which the valve stem is inserted, gland packings disposed on a spacer provided between the inner wall of the first through-hole and the valve stem, a packing follower in which a first cylindrical portion is connected concentrically to a second cylindrical portion having an outer diameter smaller than the first cylindrical portion, disc springs laminated with each other on the first cylindrical portion to surround the second cylindrical portion of the packing follower, and a packing flange having a second through-hole into which the second cylindrical portion of the packing follower is inserted, the packing flange being disposed on the disc springs, the packing flange being fixed to the packing follower by fitting the second cylindrical portion to the second through-hole.
Wiper seal assemblies for a reciprocating pump and methods relating thereto
A wiper seal assembly for a reciprocating pump, the pump including a power section configured to be powered by a motor, a fluid section having an inlet and an outlet, and a plunger having a longitudinal plunger axis, a first end coupled to the power section, and a second end opposite the first end and disposed within the fluid section. The wiper seal assembly includes a cover mounted to the power section. In addition, the wiper seal assembly includes a first wiper seal radially disposed between the cover and the plunger. Further, the wiper seal assembly includes a splash guard disposed about the plunger and axially spaced from the cover. Still further, the wiper seal assembly includes a biasing member axially biasing the splash guard away from the first wiper seal.
Radial lead seal assembly for a generator and method incorporating the same
A radial lead seal assembly of a generator and a method for sealing a radial chamber from an axial chamber of a generator using a radial lead seal assembly are presented. The radial lead seal assembly includes sealing elements disposed around a radial lead to seal an annular space between the radial lead and the radial chamber and thereby seal the axial chamber fluidically from the radial chamber. Conical springs are disposed annularly around the radial lead between the sealing elements and a junction between the radial lead and the axial lead. The radial lead seal assembly includes a nut for exerting a compressive load on the radial lead seal assembly in a radially inward direction such that the conical springs are only partially compressed.
Rotary Valve Seal Pressure and Indicator System
A rotary valve is configured to control flow of particulate matter from a storage source into a conduit under pneumatic pressure. The valve comprises a cylindrical housing, opposing end plates partially enclosing said cylindrical housing, and a vaned rotor having opposing shafts protruding through annular seals provided in said end plates. At least one spring-loaded cartridge is adapted to exert a pre-determined pressure against said annular seals.
Control valve unit
A control valve unit includes a valve rod sealed from a valve housing via a seal assembly. The seal assembly has a packing, received axially between a pressure sleeve and a counter bearing on the valve housing. The pressure sleeve is movably and axially mounted via a pressing element relative to the valve housing and transmits a pressing force to the pressure sleeve by a spring element to the packing. The spring element is supported on a pretensioning device with an adjustable distance to the counter bearing. The pressing force of the spring element on the pressure sleeve is adjustable and the spring element is arranged axially between first and second stops of the pretensioning device. In a preinstalled state of the pretensioning device, the spring element is supported on the first and second stops. In an operating state, the second stop is at a fixed distance to the first stop in the direction of the counter bearing. The change in the axial position of the pressure sleeve is limited by the second stop and at a distance to the pressure element in the direction of the counter bearing.
Valve packing apparatus and related methods
Methods, apparatus, systems, and articles of manufacture of valve packing apparatus and related methods are described. An apparatus includes a cartridge including packing components and a spring. The cartridge is dimensioned to fit in a bore of a bonnet of a valve. A cap is coupled to the cartridge to retain the packing components and the spring. The cap is to compress the packing components and the spring to a predetermined load in response to the cartridge being fastened to the bonnet of a valve.
Seal arrangement
A seal arrangement includes a housing defining a cavity and having a flow channel extending through the housing to the cavity. The seal arrangement further includes a seal plate non-rotatably connected to the housing. The seal arrangement further includes a biasing element disposed in the cavity and axially aligned with the flow channel. The biasing element is configured to permit fluid to flow radially therethrough into the flow channel. The seal arrangement further includes a first seal disposed in the cavity and between the biasing element and the seal plate, and a second seal disposed in the cavity and between the biasing element and a radially extending wall of the housing. The biasing element is configured to bias the first seal against the seal plate and to bias the second seal against the radially extending wall of the housing.
