Check valve

A check valve with a a housing having an inlet connected to an outlet. A stop and a membrane are disposed in the housing. The membrane is movable and bendable to control fluid flow between the inlet and the outlet. The stop may be an elongated extension about which the membrane may bend along a line or a curve such that the extension lies between overlapping sections of the membrane.

INTEGRATED PASSIVE ONE WAY VALVE IN CHARGE AIR INLET TANK

An inlet tank for a charge cooler comprises a manifold portion, a turbocharger inlet port, and a supercharger inlet port. The turbocharger inlet port is in fluid communication with a compressor wheel of a turbocharger and the manifold portion of the inlet tank. An opening is formed in a sidewall of the turbocharger inlet port. The supercharger inlet port is in fluid communication with an electric supercharger and intersects the turbocharger inlet port. The opening formed in the sidewall of the turbocharger inlet port provides fluid communication between the supercharger inlet port and the turbocharger inlet port. A valve element selectively determines when a flow of air from the supercharger inlet port enters the turbocharger inlet port through the opening based on a pressure differential present between the air exiting the compressor wheel of the turbocharger and the air exiting a compression mechanism of the electric supercharger.

A check valve comprises a valve housing defining a valve opening and a pair of flapper elements pivotably mounted relative to the housing for rotation between an open position in which they permit fluid flow through the opening and a closed position in which they prevent fluid flow through the opening. Each flapper element comprises a first surface facing the opening and a second surface opposite the first surface and facing away from the opening. The valve further comprises a bowed leaf spring member mounted to the second surface of each flapper element. The leaf spring members are arranged such that when the flapper elements move towards the closed position, the bowed leaf spring members move into engagement with one another.

Check valve for preventing slam and water hammer

The present invention relates to a check valve and, more particularly, to a check valve comprising a main disk and a separate auxiliary disk, the main disk making a rapid closing operation, and the auxiliary disk, which has an area smaller than that of the main disk, making a slow closing operation, thereby reducing the velocity of a reverse flow inside a conduit, right before the disks are finally closed, and preventing a slam (a characteristic phenomenon wherein, when the disks are closed with a bang, an instantaneous increase in pressure wave raises the possibility of piping fracture and causes noise and vibration) of the disks and water hammer.
