An inlet support structure for use with a rupture disc, the inlet support structure including an annular member having an inner diameter, an outer diameter, a plurality of spaced apart cut-outs extending from the inner diameter towards the outer diameter, a central non-circular opening extending through the annular member and including the cut-outs, the cut-outs providing additional space for the petals of a rupture disc to be received therein when the rupture disc ruptures so as to provide a greater flow area through the rupture disc.
Fuel-isolation system having rupture diaphragm
A fuel-isolation system includes a valve body that defines a flow passage that extends from an inlet to an outlet, a rupture diaphragm in the flow passage and fluidly sealing the inlet from the outlet, and an actuator situated adjacent the rupture diaphragm. The rupture diaphragm is integral with the valve body. The actuator includes a plunger that is configured to move and cause breach of the rupture diaphragm and thereby fluidly connect the inlet and the inlet.

The actuator includes a drive body including a bottom surface, the bottom surface having a first side and an opposing second side, a magneto strictive material disposed within the drive body and contacting the first side of the bottom surface of the drive body, a solenoid disposed within the drive body and surrounding the magneto strictive material, a drive rod extending through the magneto strictive material and through the bottom surface of the drive body, and a spring disposed adjacent the second side of the bottom surface of the drive body, wherein the drive rod extends through the spring.

Burst valve
A valve assembly is disclosed that has a valve housing including a first axial end, a cap, a second axial end, and an airflow pathway extending from the first axial end towards the second axial end. The cap is positioned towards the second axial end. The valve housing includes an environmental opening configured for fluid communication with an outside environment, an enclosure opening towards the first axial end configured for fluid communication with an interior of an enclosure, and a film having an expansion diameter disposed in the valve housing laterally across the airflow pathway. The cap has an inner lateral surface and a piercing protrusion (having a piercing tip) extending from the inner lateral surface towards the first axial end. An axial distance is defined between the film and the inner lateral surface. A ratio of the axial distance to the film expansion diameter is at least 0.14.
