Proportional valve, electric shower incorporating the proportional valve and tap incorporating same

A proportional valve is provided that comprises an input port (3) and an output port (5), with a diaphragm (19) therebetween. A diaphragm plate (21) with a pilot orifice (31) formed therethrough is mounted to the diaphragm (19). The valve has a solenoid (7) comprising an armature (15) and a field winding (17), with the armature being movable in an opening direction in response to a magnetic field generated by the field winding. A spring assembly (13) is arranged to provide a biassing force to the armature (15) in its closing direction. In its closed position, the diaphragm plate (21) sits in a main orifice (20) between the input and output ports to block flow of fluid therebetween, with the armature (15) blocking the pilot orifice (31). Opening movement of the armature (15) opens the pilot orifice (31) to allow fluid to flow therethrough, in turn allowing the diaphragm plate (21) to move out of the main orifice (20) to create a gap allowing flow of fluid from the input port (3) to the output port (5). The diaphragm plate (21) and main orifice (20) are configured such that in at least the initial opening movement of the diaphragm plate, the rate of increase of the gap between them changes approximately linearly.

Provided is a pilot solenoid valve capable of bringing the strokes of a plunger to a necessary minimum and capable of achieving solenoid valve miniaturization and power saving. A pilot solenoid valve is provided with a diaphragm section, a primary side section, a secondary side section, a main valve, a back pressure chamber, a primary side auxiliary flow path, a secondary side auxiliary flow path, an auxiliary valve, and an auxiliary valve drive unit, wherein the secondary side auxiliary flow path is not formed in the main valve but rather is formed in the area around the main valve so as to bypass the main valve.

Self-cleaning water passageways on diaphragm insert

A valve is disclosed a valving member positioned in an internal valving cavity and operable to control a flow of water therethrough. The valving member includes a diaphragm and an insert. A passageway through the diaphragm communicates with a bleed slot, preferably a tapered bleed slot, and a scallop of the insert. The scallop cooperates with the diaphragm to form a bleed holes when the valving member is in a closed position. The diaphragm and the insert at least partially separate when the valving member is opened to expose the bleed slot and scallop. The diaphragm rolls up to contact the insert when the valving member is closed to create a wiping action to flush any trapped debris from the bleed slot.

FLOW CONTROL SWITCH VALVE

A flow regulating switch valve includes a valve core that includes a switch assembly configured to drive a diaphragm assembly to open or close a water outlet, and also includes a flow regulating assembly that comprises a rotating ring, a sliding block, and a magnet. A control key is configured to control the switch assembly. The rotating ring is connected to the control key and includes an inclined plane that transitions from high to low and is configured to drive the sliding block to slide up and down such that the sliding block drives the magnet to move up and down. The magnet is configured to control the diaphragm assembly to regulate a size of the water outlet.

Water valve guide tube with integrated weld ring and water valve incorporating same

A water valve, guide tube for a water valve, and associated method are provided. The water valve includes a housing and the guide tube is installed on the housing via laser welding. The guide tube and housing each provide axially facing mating surfaces which abut one another in a pre-bonded configuration. In a post-bonded configuration, a laser weld joint is formed at the interface between the mating surfaces. The joint forms a portion of an outer periphery of the housing.

Actuator with static activated position

Actuators having electroactive valves are described herein. The actuators can move from a first position to a second position and lock in the second position using an electroactive valve. The device can include an actuator having a fluid-impermeable membrane. The fluid-impermeable membrane can define a compartment, the compartment having a central region, an edge region extending from and fluidly connected with the central region, an electroactive valve between the central region and the edge region, and a dielectric fluid. When actuated, the actuators can force fluid through the electroactive valves and into the edge region. Once in the edge region, the electroactive valves can prevent return flow until receiving an actuation signal.
