PIPE WITH AN OUTER WRAP
This disclosure relates generally to corrugated pipe, and more particularly to corrugated pipe with an outer wrap. In one embodiment, a pipe includes an axially extended bore defined by a corrugated outer wall having axially adjacent, outwardly-extending corrugation crests, separated by corrugation valleys. The pipe also includes an outer wrap applied to the outer wall. The outer wrap may include fibers and plastic. The outer wrap may span the corrugation crests producing a smooth outer surface.
Composite reinforcement systems and methods of manufacturing the same
Systems and methods for reinforcing physical structures with composite reinforcement systems are disclosed herein. According to aspects of the present disclosure, a composite reinforcement system includes a carrier formed of a plurality of fibers and a blend of at least two reagents impregnated within the carrier. The at least two reagents are chemically configured to react to form a moisture-curable prepolymer. One reagent of the at least two reagents is an isocyanate, and another reagent of the at least two reagents is an aromatic-group-containing polyol.
Tape Winding Apparatus and Method
A tape winding apparatus (1) for winding a tape around a cutback between two factory coated, welded pipes to form a field joint coating, the apparatus comprising a housing (2) having first and second ends and adapted to be mounted over or around the cutback, a tape cassette (62) rotatably mounted within the housing and means (120, 44, 80) for linearly driving the cassette through the housing from a first position adjacent a first end of the housing to a second position adjacent the second end of the housing, a heat source (70) mounted on the cassette for directing heat towards one end of the cutback and the tape as it is wound onto the pipe, and further comprising an additional heat source (150) mounted within the housing adjacent the second end of the housing for directing heat towards the other end of the cutback.
Machine and method for repairing a pipeline in a body of water
A machine configured to repair a pipeline extending along a longitudinal axis determined in a body of water, the machine comprising: a frame configured to be clamped to the pipeline; an applicator configured to apply material along an outer surface of the pipeline and comprising a support body shaped as an open ring and configured to be arranged about the pipeline; and an actuating assembly, which is supported by the frame, is arranged between the frame and the applicator, has a distal end configured to support the applicator in a cantilevered fashion and in a rotatable manner, and is configured to displace the applicator along the longitudinal axis and/or to rotate the applicator about the longitudinal axis.
AUTOMATED ORBITAL MACHINE FOR CUTTING AND DRAWING THE PIPE PRESERVATION SYSTEM
The present invention relates to an automated orbital machine for cutting and drawing the pipe preservation system (PPS), comprising at least one lifting support, at least one support structure, at least one pipe preservation system (PPS) cutting device, at least one cutting lever driving piston, at least one column, at least one support arm, at least one support arm rotation device, at least one fitting disc, at least one fitting disc rotation device, at least one cage rotation device, at least one cage front disc, at least one fitting device, at least one bar, and at least one cage rear disc.
PASSIVE THERMAL DIODE FOR TRANSPORTATION PIPELINES USING CONTACT SWITCH BASED ON POLYMER THERMAL EXPANSION (PTE-PTD)
An apparatus includes a Polymer Thermal Expansion Based Passive Thermal Diode (PTE-PTD) that includes layers and is configured to provide passive heating and cooling of a pipeline. A polyurethane (PU) layer is provided that is configured to contact at least an upper portion along a length of a pipe. A polyethylene terephthalate (PET) layer is provided that is configured to surround the PU layer and the length of the pipe. A graphene layer is provided that is configured to surround an epoxy layer. An epoxy shell is provided that is configured to surround the graphene layer. An air gap on a first side of the PTE-PTD is provided. The air gap is formed by a void in the PET layer and is configured to provide additional air space between the PET layer and the PU layer. The air gap provides an upward movement of the PET layer using opposite forces of alternate sides of the PET layer. The PTE-PTD is installed on the pipeline.
COATED PIPE AND PIPE COMBINATION
The invention relates to a pipe having a thermoplastic casing surface a glass-fibre-reinforced thermo-setting coating surrounding the thermoplastic casing surface. The thermo-setting coating is formed from multiple layers of glass-fibre matting or glass-fibre fabric, or a combination of the two, wherein the layers are applied to the thermoplastic casing surface a wet-on-wet method using a vinylester, polyester or epoxy resin. According to the invention, an outer layer of the thermo-setting coating is formed from cross-wound glass-fibre fleece or glass-fibre fabric.
PIPE INSULATION SYSTEM
A pipe insulation system has a spacer wrap, an insulation material and a cladding. The spacer wrap has an upper surface and a lower surface. The upper surface of the spacer wrap has a plurality of convex protrusions. The upper surface is positioned against a pipe. The insulation material has an inner surface and an outer surface. The insulation material is positioned exterior to the lower surface of the spacer wrap. The cladding has an interior surface and an exterior surface. The cladding is positioned exterior to the outer surface of the insulation material.
