Method, device and work station for applying protective sheeting of polymer material to a pipeline, and computer program for implementing such a method
A method of applying protective sheeting of polymer material to a pipeline, such as on a J-lay rig, includes the steps of driving a carriage along an annular path about the pipeline; extruding and simultaneously winding the protective sheeting about the pipeline via an end extrusion die fitted to the carriage; compressing the protective sheeting on the pipeline, directly downstream from the end extrusion die, so the protective sheeting adheres to the pipeline; and controlling the drive, extrusion, and compression steps so that the time lapse between expulsion of a cross section of protective sheeting from the end extrusion die and compression of the same cross section of protective sheeting is less than one second.
Iron-based piping element for buried pipeline, comprising an outer coating
The iron-based piping element (1), in particular made from cast iron, for a buried pipeline, includes an outer coating (9) including: a first layer (11) having at least one porous layer of zinc/aluminum alloy containing 5 to 60 wt % of aluminum; a second layer (13) of adhesive situated on the first layer (11); and a third layer (15) situated on the second layer (13) and including a synthetic organic material. The method for manufacturing such a piping element is also described.
EXTRUDABLE POLY(PROPYLENE) COMPOSITIONS
Extrudable compositions were prepared comprising poly(propylene) and a liquid additive comprising a lactam group. The compositions can comprise other optional additives that include a polyhemiaminal, antioxidants, UV light absorbers, and surfactants. The extruded compositions have higher percent elongation at break and lower Young's modulus compared to extruded poly(propylene) lacking the liquid additive. These and other property improvements make the extruded compositions attractive for forming field joint coatings for undersea pipeline applications.
Girth Weld Coater
A girth weld coating machine has an application head rotatable about a pipeline. A reservoir of coating material is carried on the application head and progressively dispenses coating material on to the girth weld. The coating material is applied to the pipe surface by a roller to spread and distribute the coating over the surface.
COATED PIPE SECTION AND METHOD FOR COATING A PIPE
Described is a method for manufacturing coated pipe sections having a hollow conduit or an electrical cable within the coating. Also described are such pipe sections. The hollow conduit may be used to place sensors, fiber optics, or heating cable within the coating.
Stitched Double Layer Composite Hose and Manufacturing Method Thereof
A stitched double layer composite hose is provided. The stitched double layer composite hose includes a middle fabric pipe layer, an inner surface composite colloid material layer and an outer surface composite colloid material layer. The structure of the fabric pipe layer is weft-stitched double-layer unit structure. The double-layer unit structure includes an outer layer, an inner layer and stitched wefts. The inner layer includes inner layer warps and inner layer wefts; the outer layer includes outer layer warps and outer layer wefts. The stitched wefts interweave with the outer layer warps and the inner layer warps for conjoining the inner layer and the outer layer together. The fabric pipe layer weaved solves problems of the stitched double layer composite hose in the fabric pipe layer of traditional casing, with such advantages as high flexibility, less weaving point, less loss of yarn strength and less degree of torsion.

WATERTIGHT ELECTRICAL CONDUIT
A rigid conduit (for example, a metal conduit) featuring an electrofusable section secured to the rigid conduit to allow the rigid conduit to be electrofusion welded to another component of the fueling installation, such as a sump or further electrofusable conduit, is provided by the present disclosure. In certain exemplifications, multiple spaced electrofusable sections are provided on the rigid conduit, with corrosion resistant sections spanning the electrofusable sections in certain arrangements.
Roller and method for compressing protective sheeting of polymer material around a pipeline
A roller for compressing protective sheeting of polymer material around a pipeline rotates about a given or designated axis of rotation and has a shaft; and a first tubular portion which extends about the shaft and varies in elasticity along the given or designated axis of rotation; more specifically, the first tubular portion is of greater elasticity at the ends of the roller than at the center of the roller.
