Coated metallic article
A method for coating of a metallic article is provided. According to the method, the metal surface is coated with a composition which comprises a polymer or comprises a two-component system that reacts to form a polymer following application to the metal surface. The composition comprises 70-2700 meq/kg olefinic double bonds which leads to stronger adhesion and to increased corrosion resistance.
PROCESS FOR MANUFACTURING COPPER CONDUITS FOR AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEMS WITH IMPROVED ANTI-CORROSIVE PERFORMANCE
A continuous process for producing an air conditioning conduit is provided. The continuous process involves unwinding a copper tube from at least one coil and straightening the copper tube, cleaning the copper tube by plasma treatment, heating the copper tube to complete the cleaning of the copper tube, applying at least one adhesive on an outer surface of the copper tube, applying at least one polyamide anti-corrosion barrier layer over the at least one adhesive, cooling the copper tube coated with the at least one adhesive and the at least one polyamide anti-corrosion barrier layer, and applying around the coated and cooled copper tube at least one insulation layer made of closed-cell insulation material, thus obtaining the air conditioning conduit. The continuous process has the advantages of producing an air conditioning conduit that counteracts the phenomenon of formicary corrosion.
METHOD OF COATING A PIPE
The invention provides a method of applying a corrosion resistant coat to a pipe section by extruding a viscoelastic material, from an extruder, onto an exterior surface of the pipe section, while simultaneously imparting rotational and longitudinal movement to the pipe section, and while adjusting at least one process parameter to ensure that a thickness of the corrosion resistant coat is within a range 500 m to 2000 m.
Coated pipe section and method for coating a pipe
Described is a method for manufacturing coated pipe sections having a hollow conduit or an electrical cable within the coating. Also described are such pipe sections. The hollow conduit may be used to place sensors, fiber optics, or heating cable within the coating.
