CRYOGENIC STORAGE SYSTEM
A storage system for storing a cryogenic medium, in particular, for storing hydrogen. The storage system includes storage container for receiving the cryogenic medium, at least one pipe projecting from outside the storage container into the storage container, and a shut-off valve in fluidic communication with the at least one pipe. The at least one pipe is closed at an end thereof facing away from the storage container and is open at another end thereof located in the storage container. The shut-off valve is moveable between an open operating state in which an inner space of the at least one pipe is in fluidic communication with an inner space of the storage container, and a closed operating state in which the inner space of the at least pipe is not in fluidic communication with the inner space of the storage container.
CRYOGENIC FLUID FUELING SYSTEM
A cryogenic fluid fueling system includes a first container configured to contain a first cryogenic liquid with a first headspace being positioned above the first cryogenic liquid. A heat exchanger vaporizes a portion of the first cryogenic liquid such that pressure within the first container is raised as vaporized cryogen moves into the first headspace. A second container is configured to contain a second cryogenic liquid with a second headspace being positioned above the second cryogenic liquid. A condensing coil is positioned within the second headspace of the second container and fluidically connected to the first interior of the first container such that a portion of the first cryogenic liquid is propelled into the condensing coil and is warmed to provide a first cryogenic vapor.
VESSELS AND METHODS FOR STORING AND DELIVERY A REAGENT
A storage vessel to contain reagent material. The storage vessel includes a vessel with a bottom, a top, an outlet at the top, sidewalls extending from the bottom to the top, a valve at the outlet, and an interior defined by the bottom, the top, and the sidewalls, the interior including a volume, and an extension tube having a first end engaged with the valve and a second end located toward a center of the interior volume from the first end such that, regardless of orientation of the vessel, the second end is above at least 25 percent of a volume of the interior volume.
CRYOGENIC FLUID PRESSURE VESSEL AND AIRCRAFT
A cryogenic fluid pressure vessel for an aircraft, having: a first wall layer, which contains carbon fiber-reinforced plastic, having an inner contact surface for the contact with a pressurized cryogenic fluid to be accommodated inside the cryogenic fluid pressure vessel; a second wall layer, which is arranged on an outer surface of the first wall layer and has a thermal barrier; a closable inlet/outlet opening for cryogenic fluid, which extends through the first and the second wall layer; and a structural insert integrated in the first and the second wall layer, which has a fastening connecting piece located on the outside of the cryogenic fluid pressure vessel for mechanically coupling the cryogenic fluid pressure vessel with external structures; wherein the cryogenic fluid pressure vessel forms an essentially cylindrical main body. Furthermore, the present invention provides an aircraft having such a cryogenic fluid pressure vessel.
Support structure for shortened cryogenic transport trailer
A cryogenic dewar may include an inner tank and an outer tank. The cryogenic dewar may further include a plurality of trunnion mounts. A first four of the trunnion mounts may be coupled between a front half of the inner tank and a front half of the outer tank. A second four of the trunnion mounts may be coupled between a rear half of the inner tank and a rear half of the outer tank. The trunnion mount may be further strengthen with a plurality of pie-shaped reinforcing pads welded to each other and to an outer surface of the inner tank.
PREDICTION OF DEWAR FAILURE
Method, system, apparatus, and/or device for predicting the failure of a shipper. The failure prediction system includes a first sensor configured to detect or measure first sensor data. The failure prediction system includes a memory configured to store a dewar failure model that models a failure of various shippers given one or more constraints. The failure prediction system includes a processor coupled to the memory and the first sensor. The processor is configured to estimate or predict a probability or a likelihood that a shipper will fail before or during a subsequent shipment of the shipper based on the first sensor data and the dewar failure model. The processor is configured to provide the estimated probability or likelihood that the shipper will fail before or during the subsequent shipment of the shipper.
FUEL STORAGE LEAK MITIGATION FOR AIRCRAFT
Aircraft fuel system including a fuel vessel containing a non-mixture fuel. A protective vessel is arranged about the fuel vessel such that the fuel vessel is contained within the protective vessel and a protective space is defined between an outer surface of a vessel wall of the fuel vessel and an inner surface of a vessel wall of the protective vessel. At least one mounting structure fixedly positions the fuel vessel within the protective vessel. A fuel consumption device configured to consume the non-mixture fuel. A fuel output fluidly connects an interior of the fuel vessel to the fuel consumption device, the fuel output being fluidly isolated from the protective space. A relief output fluidly connects the protective space to a relief flow path, the relief output and relief flow path configured to vent gas from the protective space and remove any non-mixture fuel from the protective space.
SYSTEM HAVING CRYOTANK WITH OFFSET PUMP HOUSING, METHOD OF MAKING AND METHOD OF USING THE SAME
A system and a method for liquefied fuel storage are provided. The system includes a first module including a first outer vessel wall and a cryotank, a second module including a second outer vessel wall and a submerged pump at partially inside the second outer vessel wall, and a third module including a third outer vessel wall. The first, the second, and the third outer vessel walls are connected to provide an enclosure as an outer vessel.
STORAGE TANK FOR LIQUID HYDROGEN WITH FILL LEVEL INDICATOR
A storage tank for liquid hydrogen having an outer tank , an inner tank which is arranged inside the outer tank , and a device for indicating a predefined fill level has been reached with a cell which can be arranged inside the inner tank and is filled with a gas which liquefies when the cell is dipped into the liquid hydrogen , further having a pressure indicator device which indicates a pressure drop in the cell in the case of liquefaction of the gas and therefore indicates the predefined filling level has been reached, and further having a heating element which continuously introduces heat into the gas .
