Reinforcing member for corrugated membrane of LNG cargo tank, membrane assembly having the reinforcing member and method for constructing the same

The present invention is related to a reinforcing member for a membrane for improving the pressure-withstanding property of the membrane having corrugations, and a membrane assembly having the reinforcing member and a method of constructing the membrane assembly. By providing a reinforcing member for a membrane having corrugations and installed in an insulating structural member of an LNG cargo, the present invention can prevent the collapse of the corrugation and attenuate shocks against a same load without increasing the facial rigidity of the corrugation, and improve the insulating property by forming an additional insulating layer.

A liquefied gas storage tank and a manufacturing method therefor are disclosed. According to the present invention, in the liquefied gas storage tank, the material of a membrane, which is adjacent to a region in which a liquid dome is installed, is different from the material of a membrane, which is not adjacent thereto, such that the liquefied gas storage tank can effectively respond to the thermal deformation generated during the storage of liquefied gas.

Sealed and insulating vessel comprising a bridging element between the panels of the secondary insulation barrier

The invention concerns a sealed and thermally insulating vessel for storing a fluid, comprising a secondary thermal insulation barrier and a secondary sealing membrane, the secondary sealing membrane comprising a plurality of corrugated metal sheets sealingly welded to each other and each comprising at least two perpendicular corrugations, the secondary thermal insulation barrier comprising a plurality of juxtaposed insulating panels, each insulating panel having an inner face, opposite the bearing wall, provided with metal plates to which the corrugated metal sheets are welded, each insulating panel being associated with the adjacent insulating panels via a plurality of bridging elements.

USE OF A LAYER OF A MATERIAL AS A THERMAL INSULATION BARRIER

The present invention relates to the use of a layer of a material as a thermal insulation barrier on an interior surface of wall of a containment system for a fluid, wherein the cryogenic fluid is one of liquid natural gas (LNG), liquefied nitrogen, liquefied propane, liquefied oxygen, liquefied carbon dioxide and liquefied hydrogen, the material having a contact angle which is at least 150.

SEALED AND THERMALLY INSULATING TANK

Sealed and thermally insulating tank comprising a sealed membrane and a thermally insulating barrier with insulating blocks comprising cover panels, the sealed membrane being made up of a corrugated metal membrane comprising a series of parallel corrugations and flat portions between the corrugations and resting on the cover panels, wherein an insulating block is twice the pitch of the corrugations, meaning that a series of corrugations comprises two corrugations situated in line with one insulating block, and wherein the flat portions of the sealed membrane are arranged in line with an internal area of the cover panels, the sealed membrane being fixed to the thermally insulating barrier by fixing the flat portions of the sealed membrane to the insulating blocks in the internal area of the cover panels.

Impermeable and thermally insulated tank comprising a metal membrane that is corrugated in orthogonal folds

An impermeable and thermally insulated tank built into a load-bearing structure, the tank wall comprising: a thermally insulated barrier attached to a load-bearing wall and made of insulating blocks, juxtaposed in parallel rows separated from one another by gaps, an impermeable barrier supported by the thermally insulated barrier and made of welded metal sheets.
Each insulating block carries, on the face of same opposite the load-bearing wall, two metal connecting strips arranged in parallel to the sides of the insulating block. The sheets of the membrane carried by the insulating block are welded to the strips. The connecting strips are rigidly connected to the insulating block carrying same. The sheets each have at least two orthogonal folds parallel to the sides of the insulating blocks, the folds being inserted into the gaps formed between two insulating blocks.
