A nicotine formulation for an aerosol-generating system is provided, the nicotine formulation including: one or more water-miscible polyhydric alcohols; one or more metal salts; and one or more organic acids, the nicotine formulation having a metal salt content of greater than or equal to about 0.5 percent by weight, the one or more metal salts being selected from the group consisting of metal benzoates, metal cinnamates, metal cycloheptanecarboxylates, metal levulinates, metal propanoates, metal stearates, and metal undecanoates, and the nicotine formulation having an organic acid content of between about 0.5 percent and about 4 percent by weight. An aerosol-generating article and an aerosol-generating system are also provided.

NICOTINE AND CELLULOSE CONTAINING SHEET

A heatable aerosol-generating article is provided, including an aerosol generating rod, the aerosol generating rod including a sheet for an aerosol-generating device, the sheet including: cellulosic material including cellulose powder, a weight ratio of cellulose powder to total cellulosic material in the sheet on a dry weight basis being greater than about 1:2; one or more nicotine salts; and at least one aerosol former, the sheet having an aerosol former content of at least 10% by weight on a dry weight basis, the sheet including no tobacco material, and a weight ratio of aerosol former to nicotine salt in the sheet on a dry weight basis being between and 3:1.

REGENERATED CELLULOSE SUBSTRATE FOR AEROSOL DELIVERY DEVICE

The present disclosure provides an aerosol generating component containing a substrate impregnated with one or more aerosol forming materials, the substrate including a cellulosic material substantially free of sulfur compounds, and further including one or more of a tobacco pulp, an aqueous tobacco extract, a filler, and a binder. Further provided is an aerosol delivery device including the aerosol generating component. Such devices utilize electrically generated heat or combustible ignition sources to heat the aerosol forming materials, providing an inhalable substance in the form of an aerosol.

Method of generating aerosol

Provided herein is a method of generating aerosol from an aerosol-generating substrate using an aerosol-generating device with at least one heat source disposed to heat, but not burn, the aerosol-generating substrate in use. The aerosol-generating substrate has first and second portions having substantially the same composition, and/or has first and second portions and there is no physical separation between the portions. The method includes heating the aerosol-generating substrate in the aerosol-generating device, so that a temperature profile of the first portion of the aerosol-generating substrate during heating is different from a temperature profile of the second portion of the aerosol-generating substrate.

AEROSOL DELIVERY DEVICE INCLUDING A SEGREGATED SUBSTRATE

The present disclosure provides an aerosol source member and an aerosol delivery device that includes an aerosol source member. The aerosol source member includes a segmented substrate portion that includes a first substrate segment and a second substrate segment. The first substrate segment includes a first aerosol former, the second substrate segment includes a second aerosol former different from the first aerosol former, and the second substrate segment is positioned between the first substrate segment and a downstream end of the aerosol source member. The first substrate segment and the second substrate segment are configured such that when heated by a heat source, the first substrate segment is heated to a first temperature and the second substrate segment is heated to a second temperature that is less than the first temperature.
