METHOD OF MAKING A TOBACCO EXTRACT
Embodiments described herein include a method of making a tobacco extract comprising; (a) contacting tobacco with an extraction solvent such that tobacco components are extracted from the tobacco into the solvent, wherein the extraction solvent comprises a supercritical fluid; (b) separating residual tobacco solids from the extraction solvent containing tobacco components; (c) providing an entrapment solvent in a vessel, exposing the extraction solvent containing tobacco components to conditions in that vessel, wherein the conditions in the vessel are such that the extraction solvent is subcritical, thereby releasing the tobacco components from the extraction solvent, and wherein the entrapment solvent dissolves the tobacco components released from the extraction solvent.
CAPSULE-CONTAINING POUCHED PRODUCT FOR ORAL USE
A pouched product adapted for release of a releasable component therefrom is provided herein. The pouched product can include a water-permeable fabric pouch formed so as to define a cavity therein, and a composition contained within the cavity of the water-permeable fabric pouch, the composition including one or more releasable components that are released from the composition under mouth conditions and that are capable of movement through the water-permeable fabric pouch. The composition includes nicotine and at least one particulate non-tobacco material. The pouched product also includes at least one capsule contained within the cavity of the water-permeable fabric pouch, the capsule having a capsule wall surrounding an inner payload comprising at least one botanical.
Tobacco-derived protein compositions
The disclosure describes methods for the purification of protein-enriched extracts to provide concentrates and isolates and methods for incorporation of such materials into products. The purification methods are adapted for removal of one or more of ash, metal salts, alkaloids, particulates, heavy metals, and other impurities and/or contaminants from extracts, as well as modifying the sensory characteristics (e.g., odor, color, and/or taste characteristics) of extracts. The methods generally include diafiltration, treatment with functionalized resins, and supercritical extraction. A protein composition in the form of a concentrate or isolate is provided, the protein composition including RuBisCO, F2 fraction proteins, or combination thereof extracted from a plant of the Nicotiana species, wherein the protein composition is characterized by one or more of: an ash content of less than about 15% by weight; a nicotine content of less than about 10 g/g, and a heavy metal content of less than about 60 g/g.
TOBACCO-FLAVORED LIQUID MANUFACTURING METHOD, TOBACCO-FLAVORED LIQUID, AND FLAVOR INHALER
Provided is a tobacco-flavored liquid manufacturing method that includes processing a tobacco liquid extract using a material containing an inorganic porous body, and removing microorganisms from the tobacco liquid extract.
Genus Nicotiana F1 hybrid and use of same
An object of the present invention is to provide an F1 hybrid or a portion thereof, and use of the F1 hybrid or a portion thereof. The F1 hybrid of the present invention is an F1 hybrid between Nicotiana umbratica and Nicotiana kawakamii.
Plant product infused with oil and method of infusion
An oil-infused plant product and method of infusing is provided. The method includes placing dried botanical matter with an alcohol and oil mixture into a pressurizable container, pressurizing and heating the pressurizable container, allowing the botanical matter and oil/alcohol mixture to remain in the container for a development time period while the oil is drawn into the botanical matter, and removing the oil/alcohol mixture via a vacuum. The botanical matter may be a processed plant matter, such as a blunt wrapper, or may be a natural or minimally processed plant matter, such as dried edible plants, smokable herbs, or herbs suitable for brewing (such as tea, coffee, and herbal tea components). The oil may be any nontoxic oil.
Manufacturing method of composition element of item including flavor component, and composition element of item, including flavor component
The production process comprises a step (A) in which an alkali-treated tobacco source is heated to make the tobacco source release a flavoring ingredient into a gas phase, a step (B) in which the flavoring ingredient released into the gas phase is brought into contact with a given solvent which is a liquid substance at ordinary temperature, thereby trapping the flavoring ingredient in the given solvent, and a step (C) in which the given solvent is added to a constituent element.
Method of processing cannabis
A smokable product is an organoleptically homogenous smokable material comprising shredded hemp paper that has been treated with a solution of cannabinoids and terpenes, and a wrapping paper to hold the smokable material in a rolled form. A method includes grinding cannabis plants, removing terpenes and cannabinoids from the cannabis plants, leaving cannabis fibers, pulping the cannabis fibers to produce hemp paper, shredding the hemp paper to produce shredded paper, combining at least the terpenes and cannabinoids into a solution based upon a predetermined formula, spraying the shredded paper with the solution to produce smokable material, and rolling the smokable material into a cigarette.
Method for producing microcrystalline cellulose from tobacco and related tobacco product
Methods for producing dissolving grade pulp and microcrystalline cellulose from tobacco are provided. The methods include chemical pulping a tobacco input to form a tobacco pulp. Chemical pulping the tobacco input includes combining the tobacco input with a strong base defining a weight from about 5% to about 50% of the tobacco input, and heating the tobacco input and the strong base with an H-factor from about 500 to about 3,300. Further, the methods include bleaching the tobacco pulp to produce a dissolving grade pulp. Bleaching the tobacco pulp may include chlorination of the tobacco pulp with a chlorine dioxide solution, and caustic extraction of the tobacco pulp with a second strong base. A related tobacco-derived microcrystalline cellulose product is also provided, which can be used as a binder, a filler, and/or a texturizer in a tobacco product, such as a smokeless tobacco product.
Oral tobacco composition and production method thereof
An oral tobacco composition in which sensations to the throat and esophagus that are characteristic of raw tobacco are selectively removed, and a production method thereof are provided. Provided is an oral tobacco composition in which the ratio of total content of one or more of citric acid, malic acid, succinic acid, acetic acid and formic acid to the nicotine content (A/N) is 1.30 or less.
