TOBACCO/MARIJUANA/HEMP PRODUCT AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING A TOBACCO/MARIJUANA/HEMP PRODUCT FOR USE IN VAPING DEVICE

A method for preparing a wetted vaping product for use with a vaping device includes providing dried leaf matter having been dried to remove moisture content therefrom; one of wetting, soaking, and immersing the dried leaf matter in a solvent; rehydrating the leaf matter with the solvent to increase overall weight of the dried leaf matter at least 5% to 10%; and sizing the leaf matter before and/or after the act of wetting, soaking, and immersing to fit within the vaping device. Another method includes providing leaf matter containing plant oil; mixing the leaf matter and a liquid solvent by immersing and/or soaking the leaf matter with the liquid solvent in a sterile container for at least 30 days; extracting liquid from the mixture of leaf matter and the liquid solvent; and filtering the separated liquid to remove the leaf matter of 3.5 microns to larger from the separated liquid.

Method of extracting volatile compounds from tobacco material

There is provided a method of extracting one or more volatile compounds of interest from tobacco material, the method comprising the steps of: i) providing tobacco material; ii) subjecting the tobacco material to steam distillation; and iii) extracting one or more volatile compounds of interest from the tobacco material with a solvent; wherein distillation step (ii) and extraction step (iii) are carried out simultaneously and at a pH of no greater than 2, and wherein the period during which both the distillation step (ii) and the extraction step (iii) are carried out is from about 8 to about 20 hours.

IMPROVED METHOD OF PRODUCING A LIQUID TOBACCO EXTRACT

A method of producing a liquid tobacco extract is provided, the method including the steps of: preparing a tobacco starting material including natural tobacco material such that during the step of preparing the tobacco starting material, the tobacco is not subjected to any treatment adapted to alter the pH of the tobacco; heating the tobacco starting material in a flow of inert gas at an extraction temperature of between 125 degrees Celsius and 160 degrees Celsius for between 90 minutes and 270 minutes; collecting volatile compounds released from the natural tobacco starting material during the heating step; and forming a liquid tobacco extract comprising the collected volatile compounds.

Tobacco-derived composition

Isolated O-methylated flavonoid compounds and mixtures of o-methylated flavonoid compounds derived from a plant of the Nicotiana species and methods of obtaining such compounds are provided. The o-methylated flavonoids can be combined with tobacco materials to produce tobacco products (e.g., smoking articles) to enhance the sensory characteristics thereof. The o-methyl flavonoids can alternatively be combined with non-tobacco materials for dietary supplement and/or pharmaceutical use.

Flavor source manufacturing method

A method of manufacturing a flavor source includes: a step A of adding a basic substance to a tobacco raw material; a step B of heating the tobacco raw material added with the basic substance and releasing an inhaling flavor component into a vapor phase from the tobacco raw material; a step C of collecting the inhaling flavor component released into the vapor phase in the step B; a step D of washing a tobacco residue being the tobacco raw material obtained after the inhaling flavor component is released in the step B, with a washing solvent; a step E of pulverizing or cutting the tobacco residue obtained after being washed in the step D; and a step F of adding the inhaling flavor component collected in the step C to the tobacco residue obtained after pulverized or cut in the step E.

METHOD FOR WHITENING TOBACCO

A method of preparing a whitened tobacco material is provided, including: (i) extracting a tobacco material with a first extraction solution to provide a tobacco solids material and a tobacco extract; (ii) cooking the tobacco solids material in an alkaline cooking liquid comprising sodium sulfide and having a pH of greater than 11 to form a tobacco pulp; (iii) treating the tobacco pulp with an acid to lower the pH of the tobacco pulp and provide a neutralized tobacco pulp; (iv) extracting the neutralized tobacco pulp with a second extraction solution comprising at least one chelating agent to provide an extracted tobacco pulp; and (v) bleaching the extracted tobacco pulp with a bleaching solution to provide a whitened tobacco material.
