The heat generating element includes at least one PTC element and conductor elements of different polarities received in a flat tube. Heat heat-emitting elements abut against opposite sides of the flat tube. In order to increase the power density, the heat-emitting elements abut against the flat tube subject to spring pretension.

According to one embodiment of the present invention, a heating rod comprises: a first thermal diffusion plate; a ceramic substrate arranged on the first thermal diffusion plate and having a heating element arranged therein; and a second thermal diffusion plate arranged on the ceramic substrate, wherein the first thermal diffusion plate and the second thermal diffusion plate are respectively stacked in a plurality of layers. Since the first thermal diffusion plate and the second thermal diffusion plate are stacked in the plurality of layers, a heating rod having a high thermal efficiency and being capable of fast heating and a vehicular heating device including the same can be obtained.

The heater may include at least one heating element comprising a flat ceramic plate and a conductive track. The heating element may be arcuate. The heating element may have a constant curvature.

Electric heating device

An electric heating device, in particular for a motor vehicle, includes a housing which has an inlet and outlet opening for a medium to be heated and which encloses a layered structure. The layered stricture comprises at least one PTC element which is electrically conductively connected to conducting elements leading to connections of different polarity, and heat-emitting elements that are conductively connected on both sides to the PTC element. In order to provide improved heat dissipation, the heat-emitting elements include a panel element that is provided with perforations and that is made of a heat-conducting material.

A heater including a ceramic heater element and ceramic heat sink whereby the ceramic heater element and the ceramic heat sink are both formed from a plurality of layers of tape cast ceramic material. The ceramic heater element may be generally planar and extends within a first plane. The ceramic heat sink may extend in a second plane which is orthogonal to the first plane. The ceramic heat sink may include a plurality of fins which may be discrete. The layers of the ceramic heater element may be orientated orthogonal to the layers of the ceramic heat sink. The ceramic heater element may comprise a conductive track which may be surface mounted to a distal side of the ceramic heater element than the ceramic heat sink or embedded within the ceramic heater element.
