Methods and systems for integration of industrial site efficiency losses to produce LNG and/or LIN
A method includes receiving input corresponding to a proposed configuration of a liquefaction facility and identifying a plurality of components utilized to produce LNG and/or LIN at the facility. The method includes determining an alternative configuration that is different from the proposed configuration. Determining the alternative configuration may include identifying resources accessible to a proposed location for the liquefaction facility and whether at least one of the resources accessible to the proposed location corresponds to a resource generated by a component identified by the proposed configuration, and determining whether to omit at least one component of the plurality of components identified by the proposed configuration. The method includes omitting the at least one component from the alternative configuration, and generating a report based on the proposed configuration and the alternative configuration. The report includes information indicating a difference between the proposed configuration and the alternative configuration.
Hydrocarbon distillation
Systems and methods are provided for increasing the efficiency of liquefied natural gas production and heavy hydrocarbon distillation. In one embodiment, air within an LNG production facility can be utilized as a heat source to provide heat to HHC liquid for distillation in a HHC distillation system. The mechanism of heat transfer from the air can be natural convection. In another embodiment, heat provided by natural gas, or compressed natural gas, can be used for HHC distillation. In other embodiments, various other liquids can be used to transfer heat to HHC liquid for distillation.
Open Loop Liquefaction Process with NGL Recovery
Described herein are methods and systems for removing natural gas liquids from a natural gas feed stream and for liquefying the natural gas feed stream so as to produce a liquefied natural gas (LNG) stream and a natural gas liquids (NGL) stream
Mixed Refrigerant Liquefaction System and Method with Pre-Cooling
A system for cooling a gas includes a pre-cool heat exchanger and a liquefaction heat exchanger. The pre-cool heat exchanger uses a pre-cool refrigerant to pre-cool a feed gas stream prior to the stream being directed to a liquefaction heat exchanger. The liquefaction heat exchanger uses a mixed refrigerant to further cool the pre-cooled gas. The pre-cool heat exchanger also pre-cools the liquefaction mixed refrigerant used by the liquefaction heat exchanger.
Process for purifying natural gas and liquefying carbon dioxide
A process for producing liquefied natural gas and liquid carbon dioxide from a natural gas feed gas comprising at least the following steps: Separation of a natural gas feed gas into a CO.sub.2-enriched gas stream and a natural gas stream; Cooling of said natural gas in a heat exchanger; Purification of the in step 1 from compounds containing at least six carbon atoms; At least partial condensation of said gas stream resulting from step 3 to form a two-phase stream; Separation of said two-phase stream resulting from step 4 to form a gas stream and a liquid stream; Condensation of the gas stream resulting from step 5 to form a liquefied gas containing less than 5 ppm by volume of compounds containing at least six carbon atoms; Liquefaction of the CO.sub.2-enriched gas stream resulting from step 1 with a portion of the liquid stream resulting from step 5.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR COOLING DOWN A CRYOGENIC HEAT EXCHANGER
The present invention relates to a method for cooling down a liquefaction system for liquefying a hydrocarbon-containing gas stream. The method for cooling down the liquefaction system comprises: a) performing a pre-cool-down procedure to cool down the pre-cooling stage, b) performing a cryogenic cool-down procedure to cool down the main cooling stage. B) comprises forming a main cool-down stream (201) that meets a predetermined C.sub.n.sup.+specification. The main cool-down stream (201) is formed out of at least one auxiliary stream not being the pre-cooled hydrocarbon containing gas stream, and the cryogenic cool down procedure and the pre-cool down procedure are at least partially performed simultaneously.
SPLIT FLOW INTEGRATED LNG PRODUCTION (SFI-LNG)
Processes for purifying and liquefying natural gas in conjunction and integration with cryogenic processing natural gas to recover natural gas liquids (NGL) is disclosed. In the process, the natural gas stream to be purified and liquefied is taken from top outlet stream of demethanizer in the cryogenic NGL recovery plant, first purified and then cooled under moderate pressure to condense it as a liquefied natural gas (LNG) product stream. Some of the cooling required for the demethanizer reflux stream is provided by natural gas liquefaction section before supplied to top of the column to serve as reflux. The top outlet stream from the demethanizer preferentially contains up to 3 mole percent of CO.sub.2 and the majority of methane and small portion of any hydrocarbon heavier than methane, a split portion of this stream is taken and routed to cryogenic CO.sub.2 removal section, in which a molecular sieve that forms a physical adsorption column is used to extract pure CO.sub.2 as a product stream, then purified stream is routed to the liquefaction section where only two stages of coil-wound exchangers with a Semi-C3-MR cycle are used to liquefy natural gas. This present invention process is suited for LNG production in small-scale. This zeolite-based small-scale LNG process can be integrated with the design of any new natural gas facility and the technology can also be retrofitted to existing natural gas liquid (NGL) recovery plants, allowing for co-production of LNG and CO.sub.2 with high purity.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PREVENTING TOTAL PLANT SHUTDOWN DUE TO LOW TEMPERATURE EXCURSION
A system of interlocks for controlling flow of low temperature process streams in a manufacturing process through a cold box to equipment or piping not specified for such temperatures by opening and closing valves and starting and stopping pumps. At least one interlock affects streams heated in the cold box. At least one interlock affects the streams cooled in the cold box. The interlocks are activated by temperatures of process lines to prevent exposure of equipment and piping to low temperatures while preventing the shutdown of the cold box. An override controller including a predictive failure capability is also provided.
Process for the separation and liquefaction of methane and carbon dioxide with pre-separation upstream of the distillation column
A combined plant for cryogenic separation and liquefaction of methane and carbon dioxide in a biogas stream, including a mixing means, a compressor, a first exchanger, a distillation column, a second exchanger, a separating means, an expanding means, and a separator vessel. Wherein, the mixing means is configured such that the recycle gas is the overhead vapour stream, and the first exchanger and the expanding means are combined.
Liquefaction method and system
A system and method for liquefaction of a natural gas stream utilizing a plurality of asymmetric parallel pre-cooling circuits. The use of asymmetric parallel cooling circuits allows for greater control over each refrigerant stream during the cooling process and simplifies process control by dedicating heat exchangers to performing similar duties.
