Liquefied gas cooling apparatus
A liquefied gas cooling apparatus including: a gas flow path for carrying a liquefied gas that is liquefied by cooling; and a refrigeration unit including a refrigerating cycle formed by an evaporator for cooling the liquefied gas flowing through the gas flow path, a compressor, a condenser, and a throttle expansion unit. The compressor is driven through an electric motor contained in a sealed housing together with a compressor mechanism.
System and method for operating a liquefaction train
A method for operating a main cryogenic heat exchanger for use in a natural gas liquefaction process, involves monitoring or predicting variations in the flow rate of a feed gas stream provided to the main cryogenic heat exchanger. When a variation of the flow rate exceeding a predetermined threshold value is monitored or predicted, a control scheme is started to control one or more compressor recycle valves in response to the monitored or predicted variation of the flow rate to recycle part of a compressed mixed refrigerant stream in a refrigerant loop.
Conserving Mixed Refrigerant in Natural Gas Liquefaction Facilities
A method of operating, during an at least partial shutdown of a refrigerant distribution subsystem in a natural gas liquefaction facility, can include: draining down at least a portion of a mixed refrigerant in one or more components of the refrigerant distribution subsystem into a high-pressure holding tank of a drain down subsystem, wherein draining down to the high-pressure holding tank is achieved by pumping the mixed refrigerant from the refrigerant distribution subsystem to the high-pressure holding tank or backfilling the refrigerant distribution subsystem with a backfill gas; and optionally, transferring at least a portion of the mixed refrigerant into a low-pressure drum from the high-pressure holding tank.
Method for start-up of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant
A method for start-up of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant, the plant including a liquefaction unit arranged in a flow path of the plant, including removing LNG from a first location in the flow path downstream of the liquefaction unit; vaporizing the removed LNG, or heating the removed LNG so that the removed LNG is transformed to gas phase; and re-admitting the vaporized or transformed LNG to the flow path at a second location upstream of the liquefaction unit. A corresponding LNG plant is also provided.
RAW MATERIAL GAS LIQUEFYING DEVICE AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING THIS RAW MATERIAL GAS LIQUEFYING DEVICE
A raw material gas liquefying device includes a feed line which feeds a raw material gas, a refrigerant circulation line which circulates a refrigerant, the refrigerant circulation line including an expansion unit of a turbine type which expands the refrigerant to generate cryogenic energy, and an expansion unit entrance valve provided at an entrance side of the expansion unit, a heat exchanger which exchanges heat between the raw material gas and the refrigerant, a cooler which performs initial cooling of the raw material gas and the refrigerant by heat exchange with liquid nitrogen, and a controller which manipulates the opening rate of the expansion unit entrance value and performs a feedback control so that the rotation speed of the expansion unit reaches a predetermined target value, and outputs the opening rate command to the expansion unit entrance valve, at start-up and stop of the expansion unit.
METHOD FOR COOLING A HEAT EXCHANGER OF A GAS SUPPLY SYSTEM FOR A GAS-CONSUMING APPARATUS OF A SHIP
A method for supplying gas to a gas-consuming apparatus provided on a ship including a tank containing the gas in the liquid state and in the gaseous state, in which the method includes: supplying the gas-consuming apparatus with gas withdrawn in the gaseous state from the tank and by a supply unit; condensing at least a part of the gas withdrawn in the gaseous state from the tank by a condensation unit having at least one heat exchanger configured to perform a heat exchange between gas withdrawn between the supply unit and the gas-consuming apparatus and gas flowing between the tank and the supply unit; and cooling the heat exchanger prior to the condensing and at least partially simultaneously with the supplying.
Boil-off gas reliquefication system and method of discharging lubricant oil from boil-off gas reliquefication system
Disclosed is a method of discharging lubricant oil from a BOG reliquefaction system configured to reliquefy BOG by compressing the BOG by a compressor, cooling the compressed BOG through heat exchange with non-compressed BOG by a heat exchanger, and reducing a pressure of fluid cooled through heat exchange by a pressure reducer. In the lubricant oil discharge method, the compressor comprises at least one oil-lubrication type cylinder and it is determined that it is time to discharge condensed or solidified lubricant oil, if at least one of preset conditions is satisfied.
Method for operating a heat exchanger, arrangement with a heat exchanger, and system with a corresponding arrangement
A method for operating a heat exchanger, in which a first operating mode is carried out in first time periods, and a second operating mode is carried out in second time periods that alternate with the first time periods; in the first operating mode a first fluid flow is formed at a first temperature, is fed into the heat exchanger in a first region at the first temperature, and is partially or completely cooled in the heat exchanger; in the first operating mode a second fluid flow is formed at a second temperature, is fed into the heat exchanger in a second region at the second temperature, and is partially or completely heated in the heat exchanger; and in the second operating mode the feeding of the first fluid flow and of the second fluid flow into the heat exchanger is partially or completely halted.
