Described is an oral pouched nicotine product having a filling material and a saliva-permeable pouch of a packaging material enclosing the filling material. The filling material includes: a non-tobacco material, a nicotine source, a flavouring agent, moisture in an amount within the range of from 1 wt % to 50 wt % based on the total weight of the filling material, a pH adjuster that includes one or more of the following: Na.sub.2CO.sub.3, K.sub.2CO.sub.3, MgCO.sub.3, NaHCO.sub.3, KHCO.sub.3, NaOH, KOH, and
the packaging material comprising an acid selected from the group consisting of citric acid, malic acid, lactic acid, ascorbic acid, tartaric acid and any combination thereof, said acid being present in an amount within the range of from 5 wt % to 20 wt % based on the total dry weight of the packaging material.

ADDITIVES FOR TOBACCO CUT FILLER

Tobacco smoking mixtures capable of producing tobacco smoke are provided which reduce the cytotoxicity and/or mutagenicity of the tobacco smoke. The tobacco smoking mixtures include tobacco cut filler and glycerin in an amount effective to reduce cytotoxicity and/or mutagenicity of smoke produced by the tobacco smoking mixture. The tobacco smoking mixtures enable a further reduction in cytotoxicity and/or mutagenicity when glycerin is combined with palladium or salts of calcium and/or magnesium.

Methods for Treating Tobacco and Tobacco-Derived Materials to Reduce Nitrosamines

A method for reducing the content of nitrosamines in a tobacco material is provided herein, the method involving the steps of contacting a tobacco material with a treatment solution so as to form a treatment composition containing, in addition to the tobacco material, an acid, a complexing agent, a solvent, and, optionally, a salt, at a pH of about 5.5 or less, to obtain a tobacco material having a tobacco-specific nitrosamine content that is lower than the initial tobacco-specific nitrosamine content. The method can optionally include further processing of the tobacco material. Smoking articles and other tobacco products incorporating such treated tobacco materials are also provided.

OXYGEN PRODUCING CARTRIDGE FOR VAPING APPARATUS
20240237732 · 2024-07-18 ·

An e-vaping oxygen cartridge design is described herein for providing a safe alternative to smoking by inhaling oxygen rather than burned tobacco or air. The e-vaping oxygen cartridge is comprised of water and electrolytes. An electric current is passed through the water cartridge and produces oxygen. When the user inhales the e-vaping device while using the e-vaping oxygen cartridge, the user inhales oxygen.

A Component for an Article and Method of Manufacture

The present invention relates to an article (1) for use in a non-combustible aerosol provision system, an apparatus for manufacturing an article (1) for use in a non-combustible aerosol provision system, and a method of manufacturing an article (1) for use in a non-combustible aerosol provision system. The apparatus comprises: an aerosol-generating material receiving section (41); and at least one magnet (48) configured to position a ferrous susceptor element (25) in a first predetermined position relative to an aerosol-generating material (15) received in the aerosol-generating material receiving section (41). The at least one magnet has a first operative state in which it is operative to exert a moving force on a ferrous susceptor element, and a second operative state. The at least one magnet can be selectively moved between the first and second operative states. A method of inserting a ferrous susceptor element (25) in an aerosol-generating material (15) comprises: holding a ferrous susceptor element on a susceptor transporter (52) using magnetic force from at least one magnet (48); transporting an aerosol-generating material along a first path (43) on an aerosol-generating material transporter (42); transporting the ferrous susceptor element (25) along a second path (53) on the susceptor transporter (52); and selectively operating the at least one magnet (48) between first and second operative states. Another method of positioning the susceptor (25) within a rod (16) of aerosol-generating material is also disclosed.

A non-combustion type inhalation article comprising a tobacco filler having a tobacco particle density of not more than 0.51 g/cm.sup.3.

Synthesis and incorporation of high-temperature ammonia-release agent in lit-end cigarettes

A tobacco smoking mixture and/or a cigarette wrapper with high-temperature ammonia-release agents therein are provided, wherein the high-temperature ammonia-release agents are present in an amount effective to reduce the cytotoxicity of gas phase or particulate matter formed during smoking of the cigarette. The high-temperature ammonia-release agents can be formed by heating an aqueous mixture of an iron precursor compound, an ammonia source compound and an acid.

CIGARETTE WRAPPER WITH PRINTED CATALYST

A wrapper for a smoking article includes a web; and a patterned deposit on at least a portion of one surface of the wrapper, wherein the patterned deposit comprises catalyst particles. The patterned deposit can include a nanoparticle catalyst that is capable of catalyzing the conversion of a constituent gas component in the mainstream and/or sidestream smoke of the smoking article. The constituent gas component can be carbon monoxide and/or nitric oxide and the catalyst particles can be iron oxide. Also provided is a smoking article comprising a tobacco rod having a wrapper formed around the tobacco rod, the wrapper including a patterned deposit on at least a portion of one surface of the wrapper. A method of making the wrapper and a method of making a smoking article utilizing the wrapper are also provided.

Vaporizable Tobacco Wax Compositions and Container thereof
20190045834 · 2019-02-14 ·

The invention relates to tobacco wax compositions suitable for use in a vaporizer. The tobacco wax may comprise additional excipients including vapor agents, penetration agents, buffer agents, and rheological agents. The composition contains nicotine. The tobacco wax composition leaves a minimum of residue in the vaporizer when used. In another aspect, the invention relates to a portion-sized container (pod) of a tobacco wax composition for administration to a mammal or person. The pod is intended for use in a personal (or other) vaporizer.

FLAVOR SOURCE MANUFACTURING METHOD

A method of manufacturing a flavor source includes: a step A of adding a basic substance to a tobacco raw material; a step B of heating the tobacco raw material added with the basic substance and releasing an inhaling flavor component into a vapor phase from the tobacco raw material; a step C of collecting the inhaling flavor component released into the vapor phase in the step B; a step D of washing a tobacco residue being the tobacco raw material obtained after the inhaling flavor component is released in the step B, with a washing solvent; a step E of pulverizing or cutting the tobacco residue obtained after being washed in the step D; and a step F of adding the inhaling flavor component collected in the step C to the tobacco residue obtained after pulverized or cut in the step E.
