CHIMNEY COOLER DESIGN FOR RUGGED MAXIMUM FREE CONVECTION HEAT TRANSFER WITH MINIMUM FOOTPRINT
An apparatus includes a chimney cooler having a housing. The housing includes a base and sidewalls. The base is configured to support one or more heat-generating components. The sidewalls extend from the base, and each sidewall includes multiple channels. Each channel defines a serpentine flow path configured to receive a fluid coolant. The sidewalls may be lofted away from the heat-generating component(s) as the sidewalls extend from the base. An inlet for each channel may be contoured to promote inertial flow of the fluid coolant into the serpentine flow path. An outlet for each channel may be contoured to promote inertial flow of the fluid coolant exiting the serpentine flow path. Channels at and adjacent to primary objective surfaces of the housing may share a common inlet. The channels at the primary objective surfaces of the housing may have larger outlets relative to the channels adjacent to the primary objective surfaces of the housing.
PIPE FLUID HEAT EXCHANGE FLAT PIPE AND DEVICE FOR HEATING PIPE FLUID
According to the present invention, disclosed is a pipe fluid heat exchange flat pipe, which has a cross section having a width direction size that is larger than the size in the height direction thereof, extends in a longitudinal direction, and has a plurality of flat parts and curved parts that are alternately formed, wherein a plurality of lower guides protruding from the inner lower surface of the flat pipe toward the upper side thereof and upper guides protruding from the inner upper surface of the flat pipe toward the lower side thereof are alternately provided in the width direction of the flat pipe, and either the lower guide or the upper guide has an overlapping part overlapped with the other from either of the adjacent lower guide or upper guide in the height direction of the flat pipe.
Support Structure for a Duct
A support structure 1 for a flexible, heat-exchanging duct of the type that is locatable proximal to cells 4 of a battery pack for thermally managing the battery pack. The support structure 1 is configured to provide support to a duct to prevent the duct kinking when the duct changes direction
Heat transfer fin of fin-tube type heat exchanger
A heat transfer fin includes a fin body and a plurality of through-holes formed through the fin body and spaced apart from each other in a first direction. When a flow direction of combustion gas that is to flow along a surface of the fin body is referred to as a second direction, the fin body includes a distal surrounding part that surrounds a first distal area located at the farthest upstream side of each of the through-holes. The shortest distance between an inner and an outer boundary of the distal surrounding part that is obtained in an area of the distal surrounding part located at the farthest upstream side is smaller than the shortest distance between the inner and the outer boundary that is obtained in an area of the distal surrounding part located at the farthest downstream side.
REFRIGERATION CYCLE APPARATUS AND AIR CONDITIONER (AS AMENDED)
An air conditioner is a refrigeration cycle apparatus in which incompatible oil is employed as refrigerating machine oil, and includes a compressor to compress refrigerant, a first heat exchanger to condense the refrigerant output from the compressor, a pressure reducing device to reduce a pressure of the refrigerant output from the first heat exchanger, and a second heat exchanger to evaporate the refrigerant output from the pressure reducing device and output the resultant refrigerant to the compressor. The second heat exchanger includes a heat transfer tube having a groove formed on an inner surface of the heat transfer tube. The groove of the heat transfer tube is formed such that an inner surface area of the heat transfer tube on a downstream side of the heat transfer tube is smaller than an inner surface area on an upstream side of the heat transfer tuber.

A battery pack comprises one or more cells 30, a flexible duct 50/230 positioned proximally to the surface of at least one of the one or more cells 30 such that heat can be exchanged between the duct 50/230 and at least one of the one or more cells 30 and a potting means which at least partially surrounds at least a part of the duct 50/230. A method of manufacturing a battery pack comprises providing one or more cells 30, positioning a flexible duct 50/230 proximally to the surface of at least one of the one or more cells 30 such that heat can be exchanged between the duct 50/230 and the at least one of the one or more cells 30, inserting fluid into the duct 50/230 and at least partially surrounding at least a part of the duct 50/230 with a potting means. The potting means may be expandable foam.
Gas turbine engine with trailing edge heat exchanger
A gas turbine engine includes a fan assembly, a compressor assembly, a combustion chamber, a turbine assembly, a bypass duct conveying rearward a bypass airstream driven by the fan assembly when the gas turbine engine is in use, a fairing extending across at least a portion of the bypass duct downstream of the fan assembly, and a heat exchanger having an inlet fluidly connected to the compressor assembly and an outlet fluidly connected to a pneumatic actuator of the gas turbine engine. The fairing has a leading edge and a trailing edge. The heat exchanger is disposed adjacent the trailing edge of the fairing.
