Valve opening-closing timing control device
A valve opening-closing timing control device includes a valve case in which an inner space is formed in a direction along a rotational axis, and a valve unit accommodated in the inner space so as to be coaxial with the rotation axis and controlling fluid to and from an advance chamber and a retard chamber. The valve unit includes a check valve on an upstream side to which fluid is supplied. The check valve includes a valve seat in which a flow passage hole through which the fluid flows is formed, and a valve body including a closing portion that can close the flow passage hole. The valve seat includes a first projection portion to surround the flow passage hole. The check valve is closed by the closing portion contacting against the first projection portion, and is opened by the closing portion being separated from the first projection portion.
FLUID CONTROL VALVE UNIT AND VALVE TIMING CHANGING DEVICE
A fluid control valve unit includes: a fluid control valve including a sleeve in a bottomed cylindrical shape defining an axis, and a spool slidably accommodated in the sleeve in a direction of the axis; a cylindrical passage member including an inner peripheral surface to which the sleeve is fitted, a receiving part for receiving an end of the sleeve in the direction of the axis, and an annular groove recessed from the inner peripheral surface; and a snap ring including a notch with a predetermined gap and fitted in the annular groove to be capable of restricting the fluid control valve accommodated in the passage member from falling off in the direction of the axis and to be capable of discharging fluid flowing through a discharge passage formed in the passage member.
Recirculating hydraulic fluid control valve
A hydraulic fluid control valve (HFCV) configured to recirculate an exiting hydraulic fluid from a first hydraulic actuation chamber to a second hydraulic actuation chamber is provided. The HFCV includes a selectively movable spool having an inner fluid chamber configured to receive and deliver the exiting hydraulic fluid to one or both of either a sump or one of the first or second hydraulic actuation chambers.
CONTAMINANT PATHWAY FOR CAMSHAFT PHASER
A camshaft phaser is provided that includes a rotor, a stator, and a locking cover. The rotor is selectively locked to the stator via a locking assembly arranged within a locking bore of the rotor. Contaminant particles that enter a first locking end of the bore are exited out a second venting end of the bore via a contaminant particle exit pathway.
Insertion piece for camshaft phaser and camshaft phaser
The present disclosure relates to an insertion piece for a camshaft phaser and the camshaft phaser. The insertion piece is configured to be partially inserted and mounted into a center hole of the rotor of the camshaft phaser. The insertion piece has a stepped cylindrical shape across its entirety and includes a first cylinder portion, a second cylinder portion, and a third cylinder portion, which are connected to each other and are coaxially arranged. The first cylinder portion extends along the axial direction; the second cylinder portion is located at one axial side of the first cylinder portion and extends along the axial direction; the third cylinder portion is located at one axial side of the second cylinder portion and extends along the axial direction; and a clamping connection portion for fixing the coil spring of the camshaft phaser is formed on the third cylinder portion.
VALVE TIMING ADJUSTMENT DEVICE
A check valve part includes: a valve seat hole into which hydraulic oil flows; a valve seat formed around the valve seat hole; a lateral hole formed to have an axis intersecting an axis of the valve seat hole; and a valve body provided so as to be separated from the valve seat or abutted against the valve seat. The valve timing adjustment device further includes a back pressure oil passage that communicates a space opposite to the valve seat with respect to the valve body with the lateral hole.
Camshaft phase regulator
A camshaft phase adjuster, which includes first and second oil holes and a locking pin hole formed in the rotor inner core, the first oil hole connecting an engine fluid passage and the first chamber, the second oil hole connecting the first and second chambers, and the first and second oil holes both passing through the locking pin hole. The locking pin is switchable between first and second positions. A one-way valve is provided at the second oil hole; when the locking pin is in the first position, the first oil hole is unblocked, the one-way valve is switched off and the second oil hole is blocked; and in the second position, the first oil hole is blocked, the one-way valve is switched on, and the second oil hole is unblocked. This allows an intermediate locking function.
Camshaft phaser
A cam phaser mechanism includes an inner ring (rotor), and outer ring (stator), and a face plate. The inner ring that is wider than outer ring. The face plate is contoured such that it is thinner in a region in contact with the inner ring and thicker in a region in contact with the outer ring, thus compensating for the different widths of the inner ring and outer ring. The stator is fastened to the face plate by a plurality of bolts which are threaded into the face plate. The greater width of the face plate in this region provides sufficient thread engagement without increasing the overall width of the cam phaser mechanism.
Methods and systems for engine cranking
Methods and systems are provided for adjusting engine cranking. In one example, a method for an engine cold start may include extending engine cranking at least based on one or more engine cold start conditions, where extending engine cranking may increase an engine oil pressure in a plurality of camshaft phaser cavities of a variable camshaft timing (VCT) phaser. In some examples, the method may further include, after engine cranking, enabling fueling. In this way, fuel efficiency considerations may be balanced with increases to the engine oil pressure such that components of the VCT phaser may be actuated and/or lubricated.
Valve timing adjustment device
A press-fit member having a cylindrical shape is press-fit into a through hole formed in a vane. An advance-side lock pin and a retard-side lock pin are provided coaxially with each other inside the press-fit member. In the outer circumferential surface of the press-fit member, an advance-side lock pin-release oil passage for applying lock pin-release hydraulic pressure to an advance-side engagement groove and a retard-side lock pin-release oil passage for applying the lock pin-release hydraulic pressure, applied to the advance-side engagement groove, to a retard-side engagement groove are formed.
