ENGINE CONTROL METHOD AND ENGINE SYSTEM
A control unit performs a vehicle attitude control to reduce a torque generated by an engine when an increase in a steering angle exceeds a standard increase, and a spark ignition controlled compression ignition combustion in a predetermined operating range. In the spark ignition controlled compression ignition combustion, switching of an air-fuel ratio mode is performed between a first air-fuel ratio mode (>1) is formed and a second air-fuel ratio mode (in which a mixed gas of 1) is formed. If the switching of the air-fuel ratio mode is requested without the vehicle attitude control, the control unit allows performing the requested switching of the air-fuel ratio mode. In contrast, if the mode switching is requested in a state where the vehicle attitude control is requested, the control unit disallows switching of the air-fuel ratio mode even when the switching of the air-fuel ratio mode is requested.
ENGINE CONTROL METHOD AND ENGINE SYSTEM
When an incremental amount of a steering angle exceeds a reference incremental amount, an ECU 60 executes vehicle attitude control of reducing an output torque of an engine, and, in a given operating range, drives a spark plug 16 to allow an air-fuel mixture to be self-ignited at a given timing, thereby executing SPCCI combustion. When there is a request for an additional deceleration from the vehicle attitude control (#12: YES) and the SPCCI combustion is performed (#13: YES), the ECU 60 prohibits ignition retardation and performs torque reduction for the vehicle attitude control, by fuel amount reduction control of reducing the amount of fuel to be supplied into a cylinder 2 (#14). On the other hand, when the SPCCI combustion is not performed (NO in #13), the ECU 60 performs the ignition retardation to attain the torque reduction for the vehicle attitude control (#15).
Fuel injection device of engine
A control device of an engine including a cylinder, a piston, a cylinder head, and a combustion chamber is provided, which includes intake and exhaust ports, a swirl control valve provided in an intake passage connected to the intake port, a fuel injection valve attached to the cylinder head to be oriented into the center of the combustion chamber in a plan view thereof, and having first and second nozzle ports, and a control unit. The control unit includes a processor configured to execute a swirl opening controlling module to output the control signal to the swirl control valve to have a given opening at which a swirl ratio inside the combustion chamber becomes 2 or above, and a fuel injection timing controlling module to output the control signal to the fuel injector to inject fuel at a given timing at which the swirl ratio becomes 2 or above.
Dual fuel combustion intensity
A method of detecting uncontrolled combustion in an internal combustion engine includes sampling in-cylinder pressure sensor configured to measure pressure in a cylinder of the engine and generate a pressure signal, calculating a combustion intensity metric based on the pressure signal, determining a parameter describing how close the engine is to an uncontrolled combustion condition based on the combustion intensity metric, and controlling a substitution rate of a first fuel and a second fuel based on one or more of the parameter and the combustion intensity metric.
Systems and methods of compression ignition engines
Apparatuses, systems and method for utilizing multi-zoned combustion chambers (and/or multiple combustion chambers) for achieving compression ignition (and/or spark-assisted or fuel-assisted compression ignition) in an internal combustion engine are provided. In addition, improved apparatuses, systems and methods for achieving and/or controlling compression ignition (and/or spark-assisted or fuel-assisted compression ignition) in a Siamese cylinder internal combustion engine are provided.
Control device for pre-mixture compression ignition engine
A control device is provided for an engine in which premixed compression ignition combustion is carried out. The device includes an air amount adjusting mechanism, a variable valve mechanism, an exhaust choke valve, a water temperature sensor, and a processor. The processor controls the variable valve mechanism so that a valve overlap period of a given amount or more is formed in a low-load range where the engine load is low, and controls an injector, the air amount adjusting mechanism, and the exhaust choke valve so that A/F lean mixture gas is formed inside a combustion chamber, and premixed compression ignition combustion of the mixture gas is carried out. During the operation in the low-load range, the combustion controlling module makes an opening of the exhaust choke valve when a temperature parameter is low, smaller than that when the temperature parameter is high.
Method and system for controlling combustion of natural gas engine
A method and a system for controlling combustion of a natural gas engine. The method includes: determining, based on a current operation parameter of a natural gas engine, an operation state of the natural gas engine, and calculating a total injection quantity of natural gas and pilot diesel required by the natural gas engine in the operation state; adopting a direct injection diffusion-combustion mode in a case that the operation state is an idle state or a low load state; adopting a natural gas homogeneous hybrid active control compression-ignition mode in a case that the operation state is a medium load state; configuring the total injection quantity into three parts including a compression-ignition natural gas injection quantity, a pilot diesel injection quantity, and a diffusion-combustion natural gas injection quantity in a case that the operation state is a high load state, and sequentially injecting them into a combustion chamber.
Engine control device
A control device for an engine is provided, which includes a combustion controlling module, and an ignition retard determining module configured to determine whether there is a request for an ignition retard for retarding an ignition timing of an ignition plug. When the controlling module controls the ignition plug and an injector so that the SPCCI combustion is performed and there is not the ignition retard request, the controlling module executes a control in which the entire fuel to be injected in one cycle is injected in an intake stroke and a jump-spark ignition is carried out at a basic ignition timing, and when there is the ignition retard request, the controlling module executes a control in which an injection is performed in an intake stroke, a portion of the entire fuel is injected in a compression stroke, and the ignition timing is retarded from the basic ignition timing.
ENGINE CONTROL METHOD AND ENGINE CONTROL DEVICE
The engine control method includes a fuel supply step and an ignition step. In the fuel supply step, the injector supplies fuel into a combustion chamber. In the ignition step, an spark plug arranged in the combustion chamber makes a flame after the supply of the fuel into the combustion chamber and at a timing when a flow strength in the combustion chamber is greater than a predetermined value in a compression stroke during or before a post-mid stage where the compression stroke is divided into four stages of a pre-stage, a pre-mid stage, a post-mid stage, and a post-stage.
ENGINE CONTROL METHOD AND ENGINE CONTROL DEVICE
An engine control method includes: a first fuel supply step of supplying fuel into the combustion chamber using an injector when a spark plug makes flame in the combustion chamber so that an air-fuel mixture is generated at least around the spark plug, the air-fuel mixture having an air-fuel mass ratio A/F or a gas-fuel mass ratio G/F, in which gas includes air, higher than a stoichiometric air-fuel ratio; after the first fuel supply step, an ignition step of making the flame in the combustion chamber in the compression stroke using the spark plug; and after the ignition step, a second fuel supply step of supplying the fuel into the combustion chamber in the compression stroke using the injector to increase a fuel concentration of the air-fuel mixture in the combustion chamber.
