Array for arranging wave energy converters in a wave power park
Disclosed herein is an array including at least ten wave power converters and at least one marine substation, each wave energy converter including a floating body, a wire, a housing anchored in a seabed or lakebed, the housing including a stator and a seesawing translator. The seesawing translator is connected via the wire to the floating body and each of the at least ten wave power converters is electrically connected to the marine substation. The at least ten wave energy converters are arranged on a symmetric, open, concave line, where a symmetry axis is at least more or less parallel to a primary wave direction and where the marine substation is arranged on the symmetry axis.
Assembly for transferring wave energy to an energy converter
A drive assembly is provided suitable for aiding in the conversion of wave energy to useful energy. The drive assembly of the present invention is arranged to transfer wave energy to an energy converter, the drive assembly comprising, an actuating member having an actuating length. The drive assembly further comprises a movable energy transfer member arranged to be coupled to an energy converter and arranged to transfer energy from the actuating member to said energy converter. The drive assembly further comprises an energy storing member comprising a biasing member coupled to one or more of: the actuating member, the energy transfer member; the energy storing member being arranged to cause the actuating member or the energy transfer member to move position. The actuating member is arranged to move the energy transfer member from a first stroke position to a second stroke position; and the first stroke position and the second stroke position define distal end points of a working stroke; the working stroke arranged so as to drive said energy converter.
FLOAT APPARATUS FOR HARNESSING WAVE ENERGY
A float apparatus for harnessing the kinetic energy of waves. The float apparatus includes a float having a central vertical tunnel. An elongated housing is disposed within the tunnel, the housing has a closed top and an open bottom. A wire coil is disposed within the housing. A bar magnet is received within the housing and the wire coil, wherein the movement of the bar magnet relative to the wire coil within the housing results in generation of current in the wire coils. A ballast that submerges in water is suspended from the float body by multiple elastic cords. A shaft extends between the bar magnet and the ballast. The movement of the float body relative to the ballast by waves causes the magnet to move relative to the wire coils generating electricity.
Wave power unit, a use of a such and a method of producing electric energy
The invention relates to a wave power unit with a floating body (1), a submerged station (2) and flexible connection means (3) connecting the floating body (1) to the submerged station (100). The submerged station (100) has a stator 5 (5) and a moving part (6). According to the invention the flexible connection means (3) is provided with a damper (12). The damper (12) is arranged to absorb tensile forces in the flexible connection means (3). The invention also relates to a use of such a wave power unit and to a 10 method for producing and supplying electric energy.
