A drain pump for a laundry treating apparatus includes a housing, an impeller, a motor, a circulation outlet, and a drain outlet. The circulation outlet and the drain outlet are defined on an outer circumferential surface of the housing, enable communication of the washing water with the housing, and protrude outward in directions tangential to the outer circumferential surface. The housing includes a rib that protrudes from an inner circumferential surface of the housing, that is located between the circulation outlet and the drain outlet, and that is configured to guide the washing water to the circulation outlet or to the drain outlet based on a direction of rotation of the impeller.

At least one valve element is arranged such that the valve element is movable by way of a fluid flow which is created by the impeller. At least one section of a wall delimits a flow path in the hydraulic construction unit and is configured to be movable as a moveable section. The movable section of the wall is part of the valve element or is connected to the valve element for movement. The movable section is movable so as to be at least partly effected by friction forces of a fluid flow which runs along the wall.
CENTRIFUGAL PUMP ASSEMBLY
A centrifugal pump assembly includes an electrical drive motor (4, 6), an impeller (14) which is driven by the electrical drive motor (4, 6) as well as with at least one valve element (18) which is directly or indirectly movable along a first movement path between at least two switching positions, by the electrical drive motor (4, 6). At least a part of the valve element (18) is additionally movable along a second movement path which is different to the first movement path, between a released position, in which the valve element is distanced to at least one contact surface and a bearing position, in which the valve element bears on the at least one contact surface.
PUMP ASSEMBLY
A pump assembly includes at least one rotatingly driven impeller (14) and at least one valve element (18) which is rotatable about a rotation axis (X) between at least two switching positions. The valve element (18) includes a first face side (22) which extends transversely to the rotation axis of the valve element. A suction opening (24), which is engaged with a suction port (26) of the impeller (14), is formed in this first face side in a central region. The first face side (22) includes a pressure surface which surrounds the suction opening (24) and is adjacent to a delivery chamber (28) which surrounds the impeller (14).
PUMP ASSEMBLY
A centrifugal pump assembly includes an electrical drive motor (4, 6), an impeller (14) which is driven by the drive motor and a pump casing (12) surrounds the impeller and including two branches (27, 32, 34). A movable valve element (18) is arranged in the pump casing and is movable between two switching positions, in which the flow paths through the two branches (27, 32, 34) are opened to a different extent. The valve element (18) is configured and arranged in the pump casing (12) such that it separates a suction chamber (24) which is connected to a suction side of the impeller (14) from a delivery chamber (26) which is in connection with the delivery side of the impeller (14). The valve element (18) is mechanically and/or hydraulically coupled to the drive motor (4, 6) for at least a movement between the two switching positions.
Multi-outlet fluid flow system for an appliance incorporating a bi-directional motor
A drain pump for an appliance includes a single, self-starting, single-phase synchronous motor and a pump chamber having an inlet and first and second outlets. The first outlet is a drain outlet and the second outlet is a recirculation outlet. An impeller is disposed within the pump chamber and is selectively and bi-directionally driven by the single-phase synchronous motor. Rotation of the impeller in a first direction directs fluid from the inlet toward the drain outlet and away from the recirculation outlet. Rotation of the impeller in the second direction directs the fluid from the inlet toward the recirculation outlet and away from the drain outlet.
WASHING MACHINE
A pump includes: a pump housing having an inflow port, a first discharge port, and a second discharge port; a pump motor for providing a rotational force; and an impeller disposed in the pump housing and configured to pump water introduced through the inflow port. A planetary gear train includes a carrier connected to a rotary shaft of the pump motor, a sun gear connected to the impeller, a pinion gear rotatably installed in the carrier and engaged with the sun gear, and a ring gear engaged with the pinion gear. A rotatable valve disc is couple with the ring gear in the pump housing, and configured to close the first discharge port and open the second discharge port in a first rotation position, and open the first discharge port and close the second discharge port in a second rotation position.
Pump assembly
A pump assembly includes pump casing (2), an impeller (14) rotatably arranged in the pump casing, a two rotation directions (A, B) electrical drive motor connected to drive the impeller and a valve arrangement (28) arranged in the pump casing to switch a flow path downstream of the impeller between two exits (24, 26) of the pump casing, depending on a rotation direction of the impeller. The valve arrangement includes a first movable valve element (34) at a first exit (24) and a second movable valve element (36) at a second exit (26). The first valve element partly closes the first exit in a closed position and is movable into an opened position by flow in the first rotation direction and the second valve element partly closes the second exit in a closed position and is movable into an opened position by flow in the second rotation direction (B).
WASHER PUMP
Since the pump chamber (32a), the valve chambers (33a and 33b), the discharge holes (33e and 33f), and the flow paths (34 and 35) are integrally provided to each other in the housing (30), in the case where these are formed of separate members, a step or the like that inhibits the flow of the cleaning liquid W is not formed in the flow path of the cleaning liquid W, so that the pressure loss of the cleaning liquid W can be reduced. In addition, since the valve chambers (33a and 33b) of the flow paths (34 and 35) extend to the discharge holes (33e and 33f), the cleaning liquid W flowing out of the flow paths (34 and 35) can be discharged at a portion closer to the central of the valve chambers (33a and 33b). As a result, the outlet portions of the flow paths (34 and 35) and the inlet portions of the discharge holes (33e and 33f) is brought closer to each other, and the turbulent of the cleaning liquid W in the valve chambers (33a and 33b) can be suppressed, thereby reducing the pressure loss.
