Non-rotating T-nut and screw catch for use in a chair panel and method for using the same
An oval-shaped T-nut that is received within an oval receiver machined into the upholstered panel to be secured to a chair frame is provided. The oval shape of the T-nut prevents the oval-shaped T-nut from rotating when a screw is driven into the T-nut. Further, this eliminates the necessity of stapling the traditional plastic T-nut to the chair panel, thus saving time and money associated with the manufacture of an upholstered metal frame chair. In addition to the oval-shaped T-nut described herein, a novel U-shaped screw catch is also provided which cooperates with a barbed nylon or plastic push rivet to secure the upholstered chair panels to one another. Further, a method for connecting upholstered seat back panels to the tabs positioned on the back frame of a chair, utilizing the T-nut and the screw catch is disclosed.
Fastening system and methods for use
The present disclosure provides an insert of a fastening system. The insert includes (a) a flange, (b) a sidewall extending from the flange and defining a first through-hole, (c) a nut including a first end and a second end and defining a second through-hole, wherein the second end of the nut comprises two or more gripping fingers extending longitudinally from the first end of the nut and separated by two or more slots, and wherein the two or more gripping fingers are flexible in a radial direction and biased to converge inward such that the second through-hole is tapered from the first end of the nut to the second end of the nut, and (d) a stopper coupled to an interior surface of the sidewall and positioned between the first end of the nut and the flange.
Attachment device
An attachment device for attaching a component to a support component, in particular a support component of a vehicle, includes a retaining element which can be inserted into an opening of the support component and which has a latching feature for releasably latching to the opening of the support component. A locking element can be inserted into the retaining element, wherein, when the locking element is inserted into the retaining element, the latching feature of the retaining element is/are blocked so as to prevent release of the latching. The retaining element has a sealing ring for bearing in a sealing manner against the opening of the support component, which sealing ring, when inserted into the opening of the support component, bears in a sealing manner against opposite sides of the support component.
Coupling Assemblies Having Frangible Portions
A coupling assembly for coupling a first component to a second component, the coupling assembly includes a pin and a housing. The pin includes a shaft and a pin frangible portion formed in the shaft. The housing includes a hollow body and a housing frangible portion formed in the hollow body. The housing is configured to receive the pin such that the shaft of the pin is received within the hollow body. When the pin is received in the hollow body the pin frangible portion aligns with the housing frangible portion.
SCREEN ARRANGEMENT
A screen arrangement (10) including a stringer (16), a securing arrangement (18), and a plurality of screen panels (20) adapted to couple to the stringer (16) by the securing arrangement (18). The plurality of screen panels (20) may each include a side notch (22) arranged to define a screen aperture (24) between adjacent ones of the plurality of screen panels (20) and the stringer (16) includes a stringer aperture (26) aligned with the screen aperture (24). The securing arrangement (18) may include an expandable part (28) adapted to extend from the screen aperture (24) into the stringer aperture (26) and a fastener (30) adapted pass between the screen aperture (24) and the stringer aperture (26) so as to expand the expandable part (28) within the stringer aperture (26). A related method is also disclosed.
Fastener clip assembly with expandable cap
A system and method including a fastener clip assembly including a cap, the cap including a cap top portion, one or more cap legs extending from the top portion, one or more feet at the bottom of the legs, and one or more tabs extending on the inside of the one or more legs. The fastener clip assembly also includes a pin, the pin being configured to slide around and within the cap, based at least upon the pin being configured to be snapped closed around the cap to form a cap-pin assembly. The cap-pin assembly is configured to couple a panel to a slot in a chassis based at least upon the cap-pin assembly being configured to attach to the slot in the chassis and to the panel. The cap is configured to expand around the chassis slot based at least upon the pin being configured to push the tabs outward in response to the pin being pushed up passed the tabs.
FASTENER SYSTEM
A fastener system shifting shear stresses away from a collet body and provides clamping action to targeted structures. The fastener system includes feet in the collet body that mate with openings in a sleeve at least partially surrounding the collet body. The sleeve or the collet body includes interior threads that engage with a stud that is configured to extend through the collet body and bend the feet such that they project outward from the sleeve openings in an engaged configuration.
EXPANDABLE COLLET BODIES WITH SECTIONAL FINGER-BASED ANTI-ROTATION FEATURE, CLIPS, INSERTS AND SYSTEMS THEREOF
Expandable collet bodies with sectional finger-based anti-rotation features are disclosed. The collet body comprises not only a plurality of gripping finger as a first part of a two-part anti-rotation means (ARM), but also a first part of a two part translation arresting means (TAM), which may or may not be sectional in nature and the TAM prevents over translation of a collet body within the work piece(s), and cooperates with a second part of the TAM associated with a work piece or an auxiliary structure. In this manner, a collet body inserted into a work piece or auxiliary structure will not accidentally be pushed beyond the blind side of the work piece(s) during insertion or initial clamp-up.
SERVICEABLE STUD AND GROMMET ASSEMBLY WITH LOW INSTALLATION EFFORT AND HIGH EXTRACTION FORCE
A grommet is configured to be fixed within a hole in a panel and to receive a stud to couple the stud to the panel. The grommet includes a hollow body having an inner surface and an outer surface, a flange disposed at one end of the hollow body, panel retention fingers protruding from the outer surface of the hollow body, and stud retention fingers protruding from the inner surface of the hollow body. The panel retention fingers are configured to engage a bottom surface of the panel when the grommet is fully inserted into the hole in the panel. The stud retention fingers are configured to engage an underside surface of the head of the stud when the stud is fully inserted into the hole in the grommet.
