REMOVABLE LOCKING DEVICE
A device for removably attaching two pieces of an apparatus (such as a leg rope to a surfboard) together is described which has two members (a first male member and a second female member) that are movable to be in two positions, one a locked position and the other an unlocking position. The first male member is joined to a first piece of the apparatus (such as the leg rope) and the second female member is joined to the other piece of the apparatus (such as the surfboard). Ball bearings are located in the device in cavities movable under a predetermined plan to allow the device to join the two pieces together in a locked position and to allow the first piece to be removed from the second piece in the unlocking position, operable under hand pressure.
REMOVABLE BLIND FASTENER
A removable blind fastener comprising an anchor having anchor members each having a threaded outer surface and a retainer section, and an anchor drive mechanism comprising a shaft having a top portion with a threaded section. The retainer section has a periphery that extends beyond a periphery of the elongated body. The anchor in a closed configuration is inserted through a frontal face of a hole on a work piece such that the retainer sections are positioned behind a rear face of the hole. The anchor is then set in an open configuration and the shaft is placed irrotatably between the anchor elements. A head having internal threads is engaged to the threaded outer surface and the threaded section such that rotation of the head causes a retraction of the anchor till at least a part of the retainer sections abuts the rear face of the hole.
Small fastener
A removable blind fastener includes: a body; a screw member; and a clamping member. The body includes a hollow cylindrical shaft with a proximal end and a distal end and a head at the proximal end, the head being hollow with an internal end face. The shaft has an open guide channel along a portion of its length and an urge channel opposite the guide channel located at the distal end of the shaft. The screw member has a threaded region that fits within the shaft and the screw member has a head at a proximal end that fits within the hollow head. The clamping member fits in the guide channel and has a threaded aperture for engaging with the threaded region of the screw member, such that rotation of the screw member causes the clamping member to move along the guide channel of the body.
Quick-release fastener
A fastener for attaching a license plate to a vehicle includes a receiver having a shank portion and a head portion defining a recess, and an insert having a shank portion configured to be received within the recess defined by the head portion of the receiver and a head portion defining a recess for receiving a release mechanism within an interior of the shank portion and the head portion of the insert. The shank portion of the receiver is configured to secure the receiver to the vehicle. The shank portion of the insert is received within the recess defined by the head portion of the receiver with the license plate disposed between the head portion of the receiver and the head portion of the insert. A detent element of the release mechanism engages the head portion of the receiver to attach the license plate and the insert to the receiver and the vehicle. The release mechanism is depressed to release the detent element from the head portion of the receiver to remove the license plate and the insert from the receiver.
Removable, single side fastener with ultra-low stack height grip range, components, and methods for making and using the same
A removable single side fastener with ultra-low stake height grip range is disclosed. The fastener includes a housing body, a threaded screw, a drive nut and a collet body. The housing body has a housing head portion and a shank portion extending from the housing head portion with the shank portion forming at least two longitudinal slots. The threaded screw, disposed within the housing body, has a head portion rotatably confined within the housing head portion. The drive nut is rotationally coupled to the threaded screw and rotationally constrained relative to the housing body. The collet body has a pair of collet body legs converging inwardly. Each collet body leg has a toe which may extends radially outward beyond the longitudinal slots to compress work pieces against the housing head portion for fastening.
Adjustable exercise device
An exercise device, having a pair of supports that rest upon a ground surface and a bridge that extends between the supports and is elevated above the ground surface. The supports each include an upper support that includes an upper tube and a lower support that includes a central post that together telescope so as to adjust the height of the bridge. Handgrips are selectively attachable to the bridge for allowing the user to perform various exercises. The lower supports are each T-shaped, including a base member and each have a pair of lateral supports that are deployable to stabilize the base members from side movement. The upper tubes and bridge are connected with folding joints, and one of the supports includes an offset portion to facilitate selectively bending the supports upwardly against the bridge for compact storage of the device.
TEMPORARY FASTENERS
A fastener is provided that includes a housing body including a bore extending along a longitudinal axis from a proximal end of the housing body, a housing body anti-rotation part, and a reduced diameter opening at a distal end of the housing body, a collet body partially translating within the housing body bore, having a collet body anti-rotation part positioned at least partially within the housing body, and a plurality of clamping fingers axially extending from a wall portion of the collet body, and a removable bushing positioned at least partially in the housing body bore. Rotation of the collet body is substantially prevented by an interaction between the housing body anti-rotation part and the collet body anti-rotation part during fastener clamping and unclamping and the removable bushing and the reduced diameter opening in the bore prevent escapement of the collet body anti-rotation part from the housing body.
TACKING FASTENER
A blind tacking rivet includes a stem and a sleeve. The stem includes a body and a stem head. The stem head is removable from the body. The stem head deforms a portion of the sleeve during removal of the stem head. The stem head may be discarded or may be embedded within the sleeve.
Self-locking pin
In an embodiment, a self-locking pin includes a cylindrical shaft having a slot at a front end, an enlarged head at the rear end of the shaft, first and second toggles mounted within the slot, a compressible biasing member mounted between the toggles, and a mounting pin extending through the shaft and the toggles. The mounting pin is fixed in position on the shaft and the toggles are movable relative to the mounting pin. Each toggle is movable from a first position in which the respective toggle extending outwardly from an open end of the slot to a second position in which each toggle is pushed inwardly into the slot. The biasing member is compressed when the toggles are in the second positions. A single toggle can also be provided.
Fastening socket for assembling structures and associated attachment
The present invention concerns a fastening socket (112) for assembling at least two previously drilled structures, said socket comprising a substantially cylindrical body (34) and an enlarged head (35); said enlarged head comprising first mounting surfaces (42, 46) suitable for being assembled to a first installation component and for preventing said first installation component from rotating about the main axis. The socket comprises a first substantially cylindrical recess (40) extending along the main axis from the first end, said first recess ending at a planar shoulder (44) substantially perpendicular to said main axis, the first recess and the planar shoulder being received inside the enlarged head, the first mounting surfaces (42, 46) being formed by an inner surface of the first recess.
