BLIND FASTENER WITH INTEGRATED ANTI-ROTATION FEATURE, SYSTEMS AND METHODS
20170314601 · 2017-11-02 · ·

Fasteners and related systems according to the invention include a collet body having a first part of a two part anti-rotation arrangement and a cylinder body having a second part of the two part anti-rotation arrangement wherein the collet body and the cylinder body are matably axially translatable with respect to each other, and have the same or similar outer diameter in some embodiments or not in others. A threaded member rotationally engages the collet body and compressively contacts the cylinder body during operation of the fastener to creating a clamping effect. Rotational interference between the first and second parts of the anti-rotation arrangement preferably occurs at sectional face portions of at least the collet body. Resistance to induced rotation of the cylinder body relative to a work piece rotation of the threaded member is preferably provided by a tool engaging a tool interface present on the cylinder body.

Ball Lock Pin

A ball lock pin is provided to avoids the problem of falling balls via machining the retention ring (previously deformed ring) from the inside of the pin body, thus creating a stable and extremely well controlled surface where the steel balls can rest. The pin body does not need to be deformed, thus eliminates any potential corrosion to build up in the area.

The present invention provides a removable blind fastener 2 having a first tubular element 4 comprising an arm portion 24, 26, 28, a second tubular element 6 comprising an arm portion 30, 31, 32, and an elongate screw member 8. The elements are arranged in telescoping relationship one with the other and which fastener, when in use as a temporary fastener, is caused to secure the component parts of an airframe by causing telescoping movement of the elements towards each other when the screw member is turned in one direction and is caused to release the component parts of the airframe by causing telescoping movement of the elements away from each other when the screw member is turned in an opposite direction. The arm portions of the elements are located in mutual juxtaposition for telescoping movement upon rotation of the screw member as aforesaid with end portions of elongate arms of the arm portions being brought into engagement with tapered sills 34, 36 of the first tubular element whereby the arms are caused to splay outwardly to bring the end portions into engagement with an underside 12a of the component and moving the component into secure temporary relationship with the component of the airframe.

LOCATING STRUCTURE

A locating structure includes a fixture and a locating member. The fixture includes a body and a fastener, wherein the fastener is movably provided at the body. The body is configured to assemble with a first object, and the fastener is configured to fasteningly connect to a second object or be removed from the second object. The locating member is movably assembled with the body, and the locating member may press against or drive the fastener to locate the fastener at a located position, or the locating member may move or drive the fastener to locate the fastener at a locating-released position. Thus, the locating member may be moved to locate the fastener at the located position or at the locating-released position, so as to complete coupling or separation of at least two objects, achieving the effect of repeated quick coupling and separation.

LOCKING SYSTEM FOR RELEASABLY CONNECTING TWO COMPONENTS OF A SYSTEM
20250059997 · 2025-02-20 · ·

A locking system for releasably connecting two components of a system comprising an insertion device (12) with a ball lock pin system (16) and a receptacle device (14) which receives the insertion device (12). The receptacle device (14) is designed to receive the insertion device (12) such that the insertion device (12) is movable into a locked state in the receptacle device (14) by means of the ball lock pin system (16) when introduced into the receptacle device (14). The insertion device (12) is operatively connected to a first component, and the receptacle device (14) is operatively connected to a second component. By means of an electrically operated trigger unit (60), the locked state of the insertion device (12) in the receptacle device (14) can be undone so that the insertion device (12) can be removed from the receptacle device (14).
