Disclosed is a plug connector for contacting electrical lines. The plug connector has a first plug part and a second plug part. The first plug part and the second plug part are each designed for receiving and contacting of an electrical cable. The first plug part has a spherical shell as a contact region and the second plug part has a sphere as a contact region. By this geometric design, the first plug part and the second plug part can be variably aligned and fastened to each other. Particularly advantageously and flexible, the first plug part and the second plug part can be adjusted without the contact and connections having to be dismantled.

A ball joint has a ball stud, a housing and a ball seat. The seat is an elastic body in a tubular shape with the top and the bottom being open, and has a spherical space to accommodate a ball portion. The housing has a spherical inner face that is close to an outer periphery of the ball portion, to accommodate the ball portion in the inner face via the seat so as to support the ball stud. A clamped portion arranged at a peripheral end of the housing is clamped to press the seat so that the ball stud can be swung and rotated.

An axial ball joint is provided with: a ball stud including a stud section and a ball section; a metallic housing which rotatably supports the ball section of the ball stud; and a resin-made ball seat which is provided to be interposed between the ball section and the housing. The housing is formed into a bottomed cylinder shape by pressing. The thickness of a bottom wall and the thickness of a circumferential side wall of the housing are set to be equal to each other. A plurality of bead sections are formed on the inner bottom of the housing by press-molding or forging.

One aspect of the present invention is related to a ball socket assembly that includes a housing with an inner bore and at least one open end. The ball socket assembly also includes a ball stud which is partially received in the inner bore of the housing. An exit bearing supports the ball stud and is positioned in the inner bore adjacent the at least one open end. The exit bearing includes a plastic piece and a metal piece which are connected with one another. The metal piece has a semi-conical shape. The housing is deformed adjacent the at least one open end to capture the exit bearing within the inner bore. In operation, the metal piece reinforces the plastic piece to transfer forces between the ball stud and the housing.

The ball joint includes a metal ball stud which includes a ball section and a resin housing which rotatably supports the ball section of the ball stud. A limiting member configured to limit molding shrinkage of the housing is embedded in the housing at an interval with respect to an equatorial section of the ball section such that the limiting member is positioned to surround at least the equatorial section of the ball section.

BALL JOINT, SUSPENSION ARM COMPRISING SAME, AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF

A suspension arm includes a ball stud including a spherical ball; a bearing in which the spherical ball is accommodated; a housing having an inner peripheral portion and an outer peripheral portion; an arm body coupled to the outer peripheral portion of the housing; and an insert molding part which is injected to a lower portion of the bearing and the outer peripheral portion of the housing to be coupled to the bearing, the housing, and the arm body. The housing includes a matching portion having a matching surface formed to protrude in a radially outward direction from an upper portion of the outer peripheral portion and to be brought into contact with a mold. By forming the matching portion, it is possible to reduce the volume of the housing and to reduce the weight of the suspension arm while providing the matching surface with the mold.

SUSPENSION ARM AND BALL JOINT

A suspension arm includes a ball stud including a spherical ball; a bearing in which the ball is accommodated; a housing having an inner peripheral portion, an outer peripheral portion, and a lower end portion that connects a lower end of the inner peripheral portion and a lower end of the outer peripheral portion, and configured to accommodate the ball and the bearing in a state in which the ball and the bearing are spaced apart from the inner peripheral portion; an arm body coupled to a portion of the outer peripheral portion of the housing; and an insert molding part formed on an outer peripheral portion of the bearing, the inner peripheral portion of the housing, and the lower end portion of the housing to couple the bearing with the housing. A convex-concave portion is formed on the inner peripheral portion of the housing along a circumferential direction.

The socket assembly includes a housing with an inner bore which extends along a central axis from a generally closed first end to an open second end. A ball portion of a ball stud is received in the inner bore of the housing. The ball stud also has a shank portion which projects out of the inner bore through the open second end. A backing bearing is disposed in the inner bore of the housing and has a curved bearing surface that is in slidable contact with the ball portion of the ball stud. The backing bearing is movable in a radial direction relative to the housing and includes a polymeric piece. The backing bearing further includes a reinforcement piece, which is made of metal, and the reinforcement piece is at least partially embedded within the polymeric piece to resist radial expansion of the polymeric piece.
