Radially outer ring of a bearing unit for a hub-wheel assembly for motor vehicles, the radially outer ring being provided with: a flange portion having a plurality of axial fixing holes that connect an element of the motor vehicle wheel to the radially outer ring, an almost cylindrical portion which with part of its radially internal surfaces defines raceways for rows of rolling bodies of the bearing unit, an axially internal or axially external surface of the flange portion and a radially external surface of the cylindrical portion connected to each other by a first portion of toroidal surface (St1) and of a second portion of toroidal surface (St2) defined by corresponding first radius (R1) and second radius (R2), a truncated cone surface (Stc) defined by an angle (a) formed with a rotation axis (X) of the radially outer ring is interposed between the first portion of toroidal surface (St1) and the second portion of toroidal surface (St2).
SENSORISED WHEEL HUB UNIT FOR VEHICLES, ASSOCIATED SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETECTING FINAL LOADS ON WHEELS
Sensorised wheel hub unit and a method for detecting, in real time, forces and moments applied to an outer ring of the wheel hub unit in which piezoresistive ceramic plates are made of one piece with welded metal plates housed within respective recesses formed in an outer surface of the outer ring over respective races for rolling elements that there is a gap between the plates and a base wall of each recess; the temperature of the outer ring and the amplitude and frequency of first electrical signals (S1) associated with the sensors relating to the same race are analysed to determine a frequency value equal to the frequency of the first signal having the maximum amplitude and as many amplitude values (D1-Dn) as there are sensors associated with that race and each equal to the maximum amplitude of the first signal from each sensor, corrected according to temperature.
GREASE TOOL FOR REPACKING DUAL ANGULAR CONTACT BEARING WITH GREASE, AND METHOD OF USING SAME
A grease tool and method for greasing a dual angular contact bearing where the grease tool is fabricated from a single unitary piece of material. The grease tool comprises a cylindrical hub, a flange supported adjacent only one end of the cylindrical hub, and a grease fitting attached to the grease tool to facilitate a supply of grease thereto. During use, a pair of spaced apart O-rings, accommodated by an exterior surface of the cylindrical hub, form a pair of grease seals with an inwardly facing surface of an inner race of the dual angular contact bearing. A supply passage conveys the supplied grease from the grease fitting to a grease outlet(s) located in an exterior cylindrical surface of the grease tool, between the pair of O-rings, for conveyance of the supplied grease radially to the inner race of the dual angular contact bearing and facilitate repacking thereof.
Bearing assembly with lubrication cartridge
A bearing assembly comprising a rolling element bearing having a first row of rolling elements arranged in a first bearing cavity between a first inner raceway and a first outer raceway of the bearing, and having a second row of rolling elements arranged in a second bearing cavity between a second inner raceway and a second outer raceway of the bearing. The assembly further comprises an annular grease cartridge arranged between the first and second rows of rolling elements. The annular grease cartridge is at least partly formed from a honeycomb structure having axially extending passageways filled with a grease lubricant, wherein at least some of passageways are open towards the first and second bearing cavities.
Bearing assembly
A bearing assembly, such as for a wind turbine or a tidal turbine including a tower and a nacelle, includes a lower part that is attachable to the tower, an upper part that is attachable to the nacelle, a bearing that rotatably couples the lower part to the upper part to allow rotation of the nacelle with respect to the tower, and a brake mechanism configured to selectively prevent relative rotation of the upper part and the lower part. The brake mechanism includes a brake disc and a brake caliper.
Turbocharger with oil containment arrangement
A turbocharger is provided including a turbine, a compressor and a bearing housing. A shaft is rotatably disposed within the bearing housing and extends into the turbine and the compressor. A bearing arrangement is disposed between the shaft and the bearing. The bearing arrangement includes a roller bearing formed between an outer bearing race element disposed in the bearing bore, and an inner bearing race element disposed in the outer bearing race element. A bearing retainer connected between the bearing housing and the compressor. An end portion of the bearing inner race element includes an integral oil slinger comprising a radially outward extending portion that slopes away from the shaft.
TURBOCHARGER ASSEMBLY
A turbocharger system can include a housing that includes a through bore, a plurality of lubricant bores, a plurality of lubricant bore to through bore openings and a recessed compressor-side surface that defines in part a passage that fluidly couples at least two of the lubricant bores; a rolling element bearing unit disposed at least in part in the through bore of the housing; and, a plate that covers at least a portion of the recessed compressor-side surface of the housing.
TURBOCHARGER
A turbocharger comprises: a rolling bearing provided with a plurality of rolling elements arranged between a raceway formed on an inner ring and a raceway formed on an outer ring; and a housing for holding the outer ring. The housing is provided with: a first dam for restricting the outflow of a lubricant through a first discharge passage for discharging the lubricant from the outer ring; and a second dam for restricting the outflow of the lubricant through a second discharge passage for discharging the lubricant from an opening formed so as to be in communication with an axially intermediate portion of the outer ring and with a peripheral wall of a space.
HIGH SPEED SPINDLE
A spindle assembly configured to be assembled in a machining device. A front cover of the spindle assembly includes passages to allow high pressure fluid to flow towards the blades of the turbine and rotate the turbine; openings located at the front end of the front cover may allow low pressure fluid to flow out of the spindle assembly; passages extending from behind the turbine to the front end of the front cover may allow collection of low pressure fluids that flow towards the rear end of the spindle after hitting the blades of the turbine and to direct these fluids towards the front end of the front cover and out of the spindle assembly. The housing of the spindle assembly may include a rear section configured to be assembled onto the machining device.
