Compensating bearing seals
A bearing assembly may include first and second rings and a seal assembly therebetween. A stiff element may be coupled to a radial surface of the first ring and a flinger coupled to a radial surface of the second ring. The flinger may include an axially extending portion that contacts the radial surface of the second ring and a radially extending portion. The radially extending portion may be curved in a radial direction, having portions that extend axially inward and outward. A flexible element may be attached to the stiff element and include an axial lip that is configured to seal with the radially extending portion of the flinger. The flinger may be configured such that a misalignment between the flinger and the stiff element, compared to a neutral position, results in a substantially similar interference area between the axial lip and the radially extending portion of the flinger.
Conveyor idler seal apparatus, systems, and methods
Seal assemblies for conveyor idler rolls are provided. In some embodiments, a plurality of subsets of seal components are selectively installable in the seal assembly. In some embodiments, one or more fins are included on a seal.
BEARING UNIT WITH SEALING DEVICE
A bearing unit includes an inner ring, an outer ring, and a sealing device interposed between the inner and outer ring. The sealing device includes first annular screen joined to the radially outer ring and a second annular screen joined to the radially inner ring and facing the first screen. The first screen includes a first gasket made of an elastomeric material, and the second screen includes a second sealing gasket made of an elastomeric material. The second gasket includes an elastically deformable non-contacting annular lip projecting from a radially outer peripheral edge of the second screen. The non-contacting annular sealing lip is contained at least partially within an annular groove of the outer ring in an un-deformed configuration, and the non-contacting annular lip is configured to flex in a radially and axially inward direction and contact the annular groove in a deformed configuration.
SLEWING BEARING WITH SEALING ARRANGEMENT
A slewing bearing providing a first ring, a second ring, the first and second rings being in relative rotation around a rotation axis, and at least one row of rolling elements arranged between the rings. The slewing bearing is further provided with a sealing device including at least one seal having an annular heel fixed to the first ring, and a sealing lip in sliding frictional contact with the second ring, and a deflector mounted to a lateral surface of second ring and having a deflecting part that at least partially radially surrounds the sealing lip.
SLEWING BEARING WITH SEALING ARRANGEMENT
A slewing bearing including a first ring, a second ring, the first and second rings being in relative rotation around a rotation axis, at least one row of rolling elements arranged between the rings, and at least two seals having each an annular heel mounted on a cylindrical frontal surface of first ring, and an oblique sealing lip in sliding frictional contact with part of the second ring. The slewing bearing further includes a guiding ring axially arranged between the two seals. The guiding ring provides a flange that prevents the reversion of one sealing lip, and an annular axial collar that radially blocks the annular heel of the other seal in a radial outwards direction.
SLEWING BEARING WITH SEALING ARRANGEMENT
A slewing bearing including a first ring, a second ring, the first and second rings being in relative rotation around a rotation axis, at least one row of rolling elements arranged between the rings, and at least one seal mounted in a circumferential groove of first ring. A cap is fixed to the first ring and provides a cap sealing member having an annular heel mounted in an circumferential slot formed on a frontal surface of cap, and a sealing lip projecting from the heel and towards the second ring. The sealing lip has a free end in sliding frictional contact with part of the second ring.
Box Type Sealing Structure and Conical Roller Bearing
A box type sealing structure including an oil throwing ring and sealing ring with a frame and sealing portion attached to the frame, the oil throwing ring including a centrifugal structure.
HYDRO-DEFLECTOR SEALING SYSTEM FOR A BEARING UNIT
A bearing unit includes two hydro-deflector sealing systems, each positioned on opposite axial ends of the bearing unit. Each hydro-deflector sealing system includes an external seal having a first radially outer lip, a second radially outer lip, and a radially inner anchoring lip formed at an opposite end. An angled connecting portion connects the second radially outer lip to an intermediate portion that extends to the radially inner anchoring lip. At least two ridges are formed on the intermediate portion. The first and second radially outer lips and the angled connecting portion define a W-shaped groove that deflect contaminants away. The hydro-deflector sealing system also has an internal seal having a primary lip, an anchoring lip formed, an intermediate portion connecting the primary lip and the anchoring lip, and a secondary lip toward the external seal that does not contact the external seal under normal operating conditions.
