Hydraulic brake
A hydraulic brake includes: an inner pad and an outer pad located to sandwich a rotor configured to rotate with a wheel between the inner pad and the outer pad; a wheel cylinder including a cylinder body including a cylinder bore, a hydraulic pressure chamber formed in the cylinder body, and a first piston liquid-tightly and slidably fitted in the cylinder bore and configured to be moved by a hydraulic pressure in the hydraulic pressure chamber so as to press the inner pad against the rotor; and a drive member configured to be moved, by the hydraulic pressure in the hydraulic pressure chamber, in a direction opposite to a direction in which the first piston moves, so as to press the outer pad against the rotor. The cylinder body includes a fragile portion at a portion corresponding to the hydraulic pressure chamber.
ANTI-SQUEAL SHIM
An anti-squeal shim includes at least a first metal layer and an elastomer layer that is bonded to the first metal layer. The at least first metal layer is configured as a first electrode for electrical connection to a resistance measuring system, and the elastomer layer is configured with structural spatial features that enable the elastomer layer to obtain a reduced thickness when subjected to a mechanical force in a direction perpendicular to the elastomer layer.
AXIALLY OR RADIALLY ACTUATED EDDY CURRENT BRAKE WITH INTEGRATED FRICTION BRAKE
A magnetic brake assembly for use with a wheel rim is described. The brake assembly includes a rotor secured to rotate with the rim and a stator secured to be rotationally stationary relative to the rotor. One of the rotor and stator has an electrically conductive body and the other of the rotor and stator has a magnetic array including a plurality of magnets configured to generate a magnetic flux. An actuator is connected to at least one of the electrically conductive body and magnetic array to selectively effect a brake mode and a non-brake mode. In the brake mode, the magnetic array induces eddy currents in the electrically conductive body to generate a magnetic braking force when the rim rotates above a threshold speed and in the non-brake mode, the induced eddy currents cause a negligible or no magnetic braking force as the rim rotates above the threshold speed.
Caliper noise prevention device for vehicle brake
A caliper noise prevention device for a vehicle brake may include: a caliper body coupled to a torque member having a friction pad installed therein; a plate disposed so as to face the caliper body; a spacer disposed between the caliper body and the plate, and isolating the caliper body and the plate from each other using an elastic restoring force; and a coupling configured to couple the spacer, the plate and the caliper body to one another.
Brake assembly with brake pad carrier and clip
A brake assembly comprises: a brake pad carrier supporting a brake pad which is movable relative to a brake rotor, the brake pad carrier comprising a protrusion, wherein a top surface of the protrusion has at least one notch comprising a first side surface and a second side surface facing each other; and a brake pad clip comprising at least one protruding part disposed within the notch formed in the top surface of the protrusion of the brake pad carrier, wherein the first side surface and the second side surface of the notch formed in the top surface of the protrusion of the brake pad carrier form an inner shape of the notch limiting movement of the protruding part of the brake pad clip in directions toward and away from the brake rotor.
