Hydraulically-adjustable rotary to linear stage mechanism

A brake system that includes a brake piston that includes a piston pocket. A nut is located inside the piston pocket. During a brake apply, the brake piston is adapted to move a brake pad against a brake rotor to create a clamping force. During the brake apply, the nut is moved with the brake piston.

The present disclosure relates to a brake assembly having: a) a motor; b) a reduction gear system; c) a motor brake having: (i) a toothed wheel; (ii) an electromagnet; (iii) a pawl; (iv) a biasing means; d) a rotary to linear actuator in communication with the reduction gear system that drives one or more brake pads; wherein the pawl is monostable, so that the pawl is engaged with the toothed wheel when the motor brake is in an engaged position to prevent rotation of the toothed wheel and the motor when the electromagnet is not energized, and when the motor brake is in a disengaged position, the pawl moves away from the toothed wheel when the electromagnet is energized so the toothed wheel may rotate freely with the motor; and wherein the biasing means urges the pawl into engagement with the toothed wheel.

Force transmission device, tappet, and method of manufacture

A force transmission device, tappet, and method of manufacture. The tappet may include a shaft portion for transmission of a thrust loading from an actuating member to a piston of a disc brake and a gear portion for transmission of rotary motion to the shaft. The gear portion may be formed as a separate piece from the shaft portion.

Disc brake caliper

A disc brake (10) of the type including a pivoting lever having eccentric journals which act on a pair of tappets is disclosed. The tappets are adjusted in length by rotation, and each tappet has a tappet gear (22). A centrally located intermediate gear (24) is provided between the tappet gears to form a gear train, synchronizing the rotation of the two tappets and therefore ensuring that they remain the same length. The centrally located intermediate gear (24) includes a socket (26) for receiving a centrally located adjuster. The adjuster may be installed and removed from the disc brake through an aperture at the rear of the brake caliper, without any substantial disassembly of the brake and without de-synchronizing the tappets or even interrupting the gear train between the tappets.

Radial Disc Brake for a Utility Vehicle

A disc brake for a utility vehicle includes an application device, which is positioned in a receiving space of a brake caliper having a caliper housing and a lever dome arranged thereon. The application device has a pivotable brake lever, which is provided with at least one eccentric portion and a lever arm which adjoins the latter, the lever extending approximately parallel to the axis of rotation of the brake disc and projecting into the lever dome. Two brake plungers are mounted axially adjustably in a bridge and, during braking, lie against a brake pad. A readjustment device compensates for a wear-induced change in an air gap. A synchronizing device is connected functionally to the brake plungers and has a traction mechanism drive. The traction mechanism drive is arranged outside the lever dome, wherein strands of the traction mechanism drive are guided around a partial region of the lever dome.
