Check valve and assembly for fluid storage container
10989360 · 2021-04-27 · ·

A check valve assembly includes a valve, cam and arm with float rotatably connected to the valve for insertion into a fluid storage container for filling of the container without overfilling. The valve includes a channel of narrowing diameter and restricting member movably retained within the channel. One end of the restricting member rides along the cam profile as the arm rotates the cam with the changing fluid levels. When the fluid reaches maximum fill level, the restricting member contacting the cam drops into the cam valley, driving the restricting member head into engagement with the channel neck walls and automatically sealing off the valve. First and second biasing members are disposed in the channel, preferably around the stem, and collectively provide counter force sufficient to overcome the frictional forces of the seal to open valve and move the restricting member upward.

Method and Apparatus for Multi-Line Fuel Delivery

A gravity-fed fuel delivery system is provided. A central storage tank holds fuel to re-supply a number of pump trucks or other mechanized equipment, such as on a hydraulic fracturing location, and can be selectively raised or lowered. Hoses or other conduits extend from the central storage tank to individual fuel tanks of the equipment to be refueled. Adapters allow connection of the distal end of each hose or conduit to an inlet opening of a fuel tank. A float valve assembly senses when fuel inside an individual fuel tank is below a predetermined level, thereby mechanically opening a valve assembly to permit fluid to flow from the central storage tank, through a conduit, through the float valve assembly and into the fuel tank.

An improved mechanical dump valve for a liquid level control system. The dump valve comprises a splined shaft that communicates with the valve actuator by a toothed member, such as a splined bore in a dump valve hub. The dump valve also may include pressure ports. Still further, the present invention includes a liquid level control system comprising a trunnion assembly and a mechanical dump valve in which the trim motion of the float valve is transmitted by means of splined shafts in both the trunnion assembly and the dump valve assembly. The inventive system may comprise float weights for weighting the float accurately without having to drill the float and load it with sand or other weighting material. Also included is a kit for retrofitting existing liquid level control systems that use D-shaped connections with splined components.

DRAIN VALVE AND VALVE ARRANGEMENT

A drain valve (10) is described comprising a housing (11), a fluid inlet (12), a gas outlet (13) and at least one liquid outlet orifice (19) arranged in a liquid outlet member (20) of the housing (11). The drain valve (10) furthermore comprises a float (16) connected to a lever (17) on a first end (18). The float (16) is arranged in a float chamber (15) of the housing (11). The float chamber (15) is connected to the fluid inlet (12), the gas outlet (13) and the at least one liquid outlet orifice (19). The liquid outlet orifice (19) may be opened or closed by a closing member (21) that is connected to a second end (22) of the lever (17) and is rotatably connected to the liquid outlet member (20). If a liquid is arranged in the float chamber (15) a rise in the liquid level will result in a lift of the float (16) whereby the closing member (21) is rotated to a more open position of the at least one liquid outlet orifice (19) and vice versa. Such a drain valve should be operated at higher fluid pressures without increasing the size of the valve. To this end the liquid outlet member (20) comprises a cylinder-like section and the closing member (21) is arranged concentrically around the cylinder-like section, wherein the closing member (21) comprises a closing element (24), wherein in the open valve position of the closing member (21) the closing element (24) converges towards the closest liquid outlet orifice (19) that the closing element (24) is matched to such that the surface of the closing element (24) perpendicular to the liquid flow direction through the liquid outlet orifice (19) is minimized, and the end of the liquid outlet orifice (19) that is first exposed when the liquid outlet orifice (19) is opened has the smallest width perpendicular to the opening direction of the closing element (24).

Drain valve and valve arrangement

A valve arrangement according to the present disclosure includes a valve module and a drain valve.
