MODELLING OF A DISTILLATION COLUMN WITH OPERATING STATE CHANGES
A method is provided for determining a state of a distillation column having multiple column stages for separating a feed fluid stream into individual fluid components. The state is determined by means of a model in a manner dependent on pressure differences prevailing between adjacent column stages. In the model, both gaseous and liquid flows between adjacent column stages are brought about by the pressure differences prevailing between adjacent column stages. A substance quantity flow characterizing gaseous flow between two column stages is given by {dot over (N)}.sub.V.Math.R.sub.V=C.sub.V.Math.p.sub.V. A substance quantity flow characterizing liquid flow between two column stages is given by {dot over (N)}.sub.L.Math.R.sub.L=C.sub.L.Math.p.sub.L. p.sub.V,L is a total pressure difference between two adjacent column stages. R.sub.V,L is a coefficient of resistance between two adjacent column stages and C.sub.V,L is a conductance value of flow between two adjacent column stages.
Air separation unit and method for production of nitrogen and argon using a distillation column system with an intermediate pressure kettle column
An air separation unit and associated method for separating air by cryogenic distillation using a distillation column system including a higher pressure column, a lower pressure column, an intermediate pressure kettle column, and an argon column arrangement is provided. The disclosed air separation unit and method is particularly suited for production of an argon product as well as several nitrogen products wherein a portion of the nitrogen overhead intermediate pressure kettle column is taken as an intermediate or elevated pressure nitrogen product. PROCESS FOR OBTAINING ONE OR MORE AIR PRODUCTS AND AIR SEPARATION PLANT
The invention proposes a process and an air separation plant comprising a rectification column system comprising a high-pressure column, a low-pressure column, a main heat exchanger, and a main air compressor. The total air supplied to the rectification column system is compressed in the main air compressor to a first pressure level. The high-pressure column is operated at a second pressure level, at least 3 bar below the first pressure level. A gaseous, nitrogen-rich fluid is removed from the high-pressure column and warmed up in the gaseous state without prior liquefaction. A first partial quantity of the gaseous, nitrogen-rich fluid is warmed to a first temperature level of 150 to 100 C., supplied at this first temperature level to a booster and compressed further to a third pressure level. The first partial quantity is then warmed to a second temperature level and discharged from the air separation plant.
Method for the cryogenic fractionation of air and air fractionation plant
A method for the cryogenic fractionation of air, in which a liquid volume present in a vaporization chamber in a distillation column system of an air fractionation plant is fed by means of a cryogenic liquid and in which a proportion of the liquid volume is continuously transferred into the gas phase by vaporization, wherein, in addition to oxygen, the cryogenic liquid contains components, including xenon, which are higher-boiling than oxygen. The content of xenon in the cryogenic liquid is determined and used as a measure of any enrichment of the components which are higher-boiling than oxygen in the cryogenic liquid. A corresponding air fractionation plant is also described.

The invention relates to a plant for low-temperature air separation, having a rectification column system comprising a high-pressure column, a divided low-pressure column and a divided argon column, and a cold box system comprising a first cold box and a second cold box. The high-pressure column is arranged beneath the lower section of the low-pressure column. The high-pressure column together with the lower section of the low-pressure column is located in the first cold box, and the top section of the low-pressure column in the second cold box. It is proposed to arrange the base section of the argon column in the first cold box and the top section of the argon column in the second cold box, or vice versa. The present invention likewise provides a corresponding method.
PLANT AND PROCESS FOR LOW-TEMPERATURE FRACTIONATION OF AIR
The invention relates to a plant for low-temperature fractionation of air, having a rectification column system comprising a high-pressure column, a divided low-pressure column and an argon column, and a coldbox system comprising a first coldbox, a second coldbox and a third coldbox. The high-pressure column is disposed beneath the lower section of the low-pressure column. The high-pressure column together with the lower portion of the low-pressure column is disposed in the first coldbox, and the top portion of the low-pressure column in the second coldbox. It is proposed that the argon column or one or more sections of the argon column be disposed in the third coldbox. The pure oxygen column is disposed in the second coldbox. The present invention likewise provides a corresponding process.

A method for operating a process system, in which method one or more actuators in the process system are set by means of one or more manipulated variable values, whereby one or more operating parameters of the process system are influenced. The setting of the one or more manipulated variable values is carried out at least in an operating phase using a self-optimizing control process, wherein the self-optimizing control process comprises the use of model-based reinforcement learning using Gaussian processes, and wherein one or more components of the process system are imaged in a model by means of one or more Gaussian processes, which model is used in the model-based reinforcement learning. The present invention also relates to a corresponding process system and to a method for converting a process system.
